History
Rise to Cosmic Hegemony
Martial Star was born with an Innate Great Dao of Chaos containing forty-nine foundational Rules. During its glorious era, nearly ninety percent of the True Gods who controlled the Chaos Rule originated there 913 974.
Its rise challenged Yin Star, an older ancient life-bearing planet associated with the Great Dao of Space-Time. Yin Star had appeared more than ten billion years earlier and already possessed at least ten Immortals before Martial Star’s emergence. Once Martial Star produced its first Immortal, its Innate Great Dao could no longer remain concealed, igniting a world-ending conflict 974.
Martial Star’s later Immortals attained their positions through continual warfare. Huang Wu recalled that, despite its late start, Martial Star eventually held a slight advantage. Its ancient forces also pursued an undertaking Bai Zhi compared in significance to establishing an immortal dynasty of everlasting life in the mortal world, although she could no longer remember the details 675 974.
War with Yin Star
The conflict involved multiple hegemonic powers, not merely the two planets. Martial Star’s supporters favored expansion beyond their existing confines, while Yin Star’s camp generally prioritized stability. Huang Wu fought Yin Star’s allies both because she shared Martial Star’s ideals and because she recognized the strength of its Great Dao of Chaos 974.
A supreme expert of the Supreme Divine Hall joined True Gods from the Prison-Suppressing Manor, Hidden Killing Tower, Heavenly Maiden Palace, and other forces to shatter Yin Star. Martial Star survived, but its Great Daos and Rules were severely damaged, and hostile Immortals occupied the region containing its Star Core 906 915 975.
The Prison-Suppressing Manor was the last surviving faction before the glorious era ended. Its members died preserving their body-cultivation inheritance and entrusted Momo with protecting the Prison Realm 604.
Sacrifice and Dormancy
Several Immortals, numerous True Gods, and other powerful cultivators initially survived the war. Within a few years, however, every surviving expert—including the Demigods—disappeared. Huang Wu explained that they had used a form of martyrdom to become Martial Star’s defensive mechanism, preserving a chance for its future recovery 974 975.
The fallen powers also left inheritances and preparations that supported recurring revival eras. These measures worked alongside the planet’s extraordinary natural properties, allowing it to revive at intervals of several million or tens of millions of years 860.
Human civilization continued through successive rises and falls. According to native elders, Ying Che once used a hundred Divine Weapons to slay a god and inaugurate a glorious human civilization; humanity remained Martial Star’s dominant race thereafter 303.
Planetary Properties
Great Dao of Chaos
Martial Star’s defining resource is its Innate Great Dao of Chaos, founded on forty-nine Rules. Huang Wu identified Chaos and Space-Time as the two indispensable foundations of the Universe 974.
- Ancient cultivation advantage: Its complete Dao supported the emergence of powerful Chaos cultivators and helped sustain Martial Star’s rise during wartime 913 1048.
- Damage after the war: Its Innate Great Dao, Chaos Rule, and the Great Daos and Rules inscribed by past experts were all damaged 915.
- Uneven recovery: Basic Laws advanced more readily than fusion Laws because the damaged Great Daos and Rules could manifest only partially 915.
- Cosmic strategic value: Restoration would attract countless factions seeking a Great Dao too powerful for contemporary Immortals to ignore 975.
Revival Cycles
Revival increases the abundance of energy and makes Laws easier to comprehend. The current revival produced a worldwide wave of enlightenment; Ning Chuan’s more than thirty thousand Mystic Truths evolved into basic Laws at Fifth Heaven perfection 838.
- Ancient inheritances emerge as recovery progresses 860 988.
- Law Spirits from earlier eras awaken, including hostile spirits that conduct blood sacrifices 813.
- Emerging inheritances cause fluctuations in the defensive mechanism; stronger inheritances produce more violent disturbances 860.
- The peak of an ordinary revival era is distinct from complete recovery to the planet’s former condition. Yin Zhu waited billions of years without seeing that complete recovery occur 894.
Star Core and Refinement
“Occupying” Martial Star ultimately means refining the planet, not merely conquering its inhabitants. Yin Xusi’s information established that complete revival was a necessary condition 894.
| Property | Details |
|---|---|
| Complete cultivation paths | A living ancient star’s core contains complete paths. A native can master a first-grade Law by inscribing it onto the corresponding Rule within the core 915. |
| Native access | The Star Core’s restrictions do not apply to Martial Star’s natives, allowing them to enter ahead of outsiders 994. |
| Refinement method | After complete revival, Ning Chuan determined that placing his spiritual imprint on the damaged Innate Great Dao would refine Martial Star, making the relationship resemble controlling an avatar 1075. |
| Native refinement | Shared soul origins allow the Star Core region to remain active. Future experts can inscribe Rules and Great Daos there, feeding power back into the planet and enabling eventual complete restoration 1075. |
| Outsider refinement | The Star Core region would become silent and lifeless, preventing the Innate Great Dao from developing further 1075. |
| Preserved potential | Master Lou stated that nearly ten Great Daos had once been engraved in the Star Core region; Ning Chuan hoped repairing it would make them reappear 1075. |
Defensive Mechanism
Origin and Strength
The defense is the transformed power of Martial Star’s surviving ancient experts. Their sacrifice allowed it to oppose True Gods and Immortals even after the planet’s civilization had collapsed 975.
- It once killed a True God, although its strength diminished over time 784.
- It interferes with external investigation strongly enough to prevent Nie Yang from reliably verifying a Divine Slave’s identity 860.
- It protects the planet against direct invasion, but cannot prevent every scheme involving permitted entrants, native collaborators, or special artifacts 964 979.
- Ning Chuan eventually resonated with the Great Dao of Chaos and obtained limited control over it. Properly used, that control could severely injure even a top King and Marquis or a True God 999.
Entry Restrictions
| Target | Restriction or exception |
|---|---|
| Extraterrestrial life | Normally enters through Ancient Pilgrimage Paths rather than approaching freely from outer space 396. |
| Overpowered entrants | Can be destroyed during passage; some Divine Sons and Holy Maidens were annihilated while attempting to descend 838. |
| Cultivation realms | Permitted strength changes with recovery. At one documented stage, Earth Realm perfection was the entry limit 870. |
| Suppressed cultivation | Outsiders can lower their realm before entering and attempt to advance afterward; a Divine Guardian Guard crippled his strength to reach the Earth Realm 870 882. |
| Powerful artifacts | Objects can be transmitted before revival, but powerful offensive items face strict inspection. The Mysterious Heavy Mountain passed only after losing over ninety percent of its power 797 937. |
| Yin Star-assisted intrusion | Activated Star Core fragments can distort space-time and partially conceal entrants. Nebula Realm intruders still require an Immortal to withstand the defense’s attacks 979. |
| End-of-cycle survivors | A self-check exterminates extraterrestrial life that remains after a revival era ends 893. |
| Ning Chuan | After obtaining limited control, he can leave and return regardless of how long he stays away or how much stronger he becomes 999. |
Withdrawal During Complete Revival
The defense was never intended to remain separate from the planet forever. Once the Great Dao of Chaos began healing, the Star Core would reclaim the sacrificed experts’ power and incorporate it into the Dao 994.
During complete revival, the mechanism flowed into the Star Core region and gradually weakened. Immortal-level disturbances threatened that process, forcing visiting Immortals to restrain their Great Dao power 1074 1076. Its disappearance in the final chapter prompted the gathered powerhouses to rush onto Martial Star 1081.
Important Sites and Routes
| Site or Route | Significance |
|---|---|
| Land of the Star Core | Contains the Innate Great Dao and preserved cultivation foundations; the focal point of the struggle to refine Martial Star 994 1075. |
| Ten Thousand Flowers Palace | Contains an Ancient Pilgrimage Path capable of transporting an army from the Myriad Stars Divine Kingdom 696. |
| Moon God Ruins | A known source of scarce Spirit-Awakening Flowers 323. |
| Divine Martial Stele Secret Realm | Explored jointly by the Federation, other races, and the Holy Heaven Alliance; its inheritances helped strengthen Ning Chuan before it destroyed itself 789. |
| Supreme Divine Hall’s sealed bronze door | Could open only upon revival and might conceal surviving collections of the ancient hall 485. |
| Ultimate Weapon Divine Tree | Briefly activates with revival and can temper even Divine Weapons 485. |
| North Sea Domain / Nether Sea | An Ancient Pilgrimage Path connecting with the Heavenly Martial Realm; control and clearance of this route became a major concern before revival 396 744 784. |
Modern Conflicts
- Foreign infiltration: The Myriad Stars Divine Kingdom spied on Martial Star for millions of years, using transmitted martial arts and cultivation insights to recruit agents. Lin Fengyang headed its Federation operations, commanding three Divine Generals and dozens of Knights 323 696.
- Competition for inheritances: Families, sects, corporations, and hunter legions sent geniuses to exploit the revival. Some sought alliances with native factions, while others targeted Ning Chuan’s Prison-Suppressing Dao Lineage 531 780 839.
- Peace Supervision Council: A conference proposed by Li Yunxi to protect ordinary beings resulted in a council that made its protection conditional on Ning Chuan surrendering his Dao Lineage 841.
- Martial Extermination Army: The army descended on July 7. Ning Chuan chose to confront it outside the Federation’s border in a livestreamed battle 923.
- Space-time blockade: Yin Zhu sacrificed Yin Star’s Star Core to accelerate Martial Star’s recovery while cutting it off from the Universe Origin. Ordinary cultivation stalled, but Ning Chuan’s automatic cultivation continued 985 988.
- Final contest: Complete revival drew Immortals, True Gods, and other powerful cultivators. The strongest arrivals sealed the star system against beings below True God level before attempting to claim the planet 1074 1075.
- Ending: After the defense vanished, Ning Chuan erased the returning Yin Zhu, defeated or subdued the hostile powerhouses, and returned to his loved ones on Martial Star to announce a grand wedding 1081.
