Ch. 41The Kindly Grand Elder

Turles met the Grand Elder on Planet Namek, who sensed both his calm soul and his anxiety over power, and agreed to bring him the Dragon Balls despite Nail’s suspicions. The Grand Elder warned Turles about the dangers of relying on the Dragon Balls, then offered to draw out his hidden potential.

  • The Grand Elder welcomed Turles and recognized that the Saiyan had a calm soul and a heart inclined toward goodness.
  • The Grand Elder sensed Turles’s anxiety over power, and Turles admitted he had come to obtain the Dragon Balls.
  • Nail threatened Turles, but the Grand Elder stopped him and sent him to bring the Dragon Balls.
  • The Grand Elder warned Turles that the Dragon Balls could cause unpredictable disasters and said his homeworld had been destroyed that way.
  • The Grand Elder invited Turles to let him draw out the power within his body, and Turles eagerly considered the offer.

Ch. 42Wish

Turles accepted the Grand Elder’s offer to unleash his potential after learning that Planet Namek’s future might be tied to his own. The ritual left the Grand Elder weary, and Turles joined Nail and Dende outside to summon Porunga.

  • Dende emerged from behind the Grand Elder’s chair and worriedly objected to the decision.
  • Turles hesitated when he realized the Grand Elder’s ability could cost him lifespan, but the Grand Elder said helping him served Planet Namek’s future.
  • Turles promised to protect Planet Namek and let the Grand Elder unleash his potential, which made his ki grow stronger.
  • The Grand Elder sent Dende to help Turles and his companions communicate with Porunga, and Dende led them outside to the Dragon Balls.
  • Nail sensed Turles’s increased power, confirmed Dende had helped him, and turned away resentfully.

Ch. 43Fruit of the Gods

Turles summoned Porunga and used his first two wishes to gain limited teleportation and learn the Tree of Might seed’s history and cultivation requirements. He learned the tree could only produce true Fruit of the Gods on Core World, and forcing it to grow on a mortal planet would irreversibly drain life.

  • Dende summoned Porunga, who appeared and offered three wishes.
  • Turles asked to teleport anywhere in the universe, but Porunga said that power was beyond him and offered teleportation limited to three designated planets instead.
  • Turles chose Earth, Planet Namek, and Planet Yardrat, and Porunga granted the wish.
  • Turles had Cacao give him the Tree of Might seed and asked Porunga to reveal everything about it.
  • Porunga explained that the tree came from Core World, where its fruit once helped young members of the divine race, and that it could grow and bear true fruit only in divine soil.

Ch. 44The Last Wish

Turles used his final wish to increase the number of S-Cells in his body, then left Planet Namek with Tights and Cacao. The Grand Elder explained that he had helped Turles to make him a friend rather than an enemy, while Nail went to train after realizing how far Turles surpassed him.

  • Turles wished for Porunga to increase the number of S-Cells in his body, and Porunga granted the wish before disappearing.
  • Turles, Tights, and Cacao said goodbye to the Grand Elder and left Planet Namek.
  • The Grand Elder told Nail that helping Turles was the right choice because Turles could have destroyed Planet Namek if he had come with evil intentions.
  • The Grand Elder explained that Turles trained constantly and that even in heavy clothing he had made Nail doubt he could win.
  • Nail went to train because Turles's strength made him fear he could not protect the Grand Elder from another powerful invader.

Ch. 45A peaceful Earth

Piccolo, Krillin, Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan, and Son Goku each spent a peaceful day training or at home, while Piccolo warned that Son Goku’s peace would not last. The chapter ended with three figures appearing on a remote cliff in the western region.

  • Piccolo meditated in the Gobi Desert, then told Son Goku to enjoy his last bit of peace.
  • Master Roshi and Krillin fought over the remote until Bulma arrived with snacks and scolded them.
  • Tien Shinhan trained beneath a waterfall and said he could not let Son Goku pull too far ahead.

  • Son Goku arrived opposite Turles but felt powerless before the force he sensed.

Ch. 47Hyperbolic Time Chamber

After his power exceeded the scouter’s range, Turles brought Tights and Cacao to Kami’s Lookout and asked Kami to speak with him inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Turles revealed that Kami was a Namekian, and as Kami hurried to learn more, Turles suddenly vanished before they entered the chamber.

  • Turles’s power surpassed the scouter’s 100,000 detection limit, so he teleported with Tights and Cacao to Kami’s Lookout.
  • Kami mistook Turles for Goku at first, then welcomed him after Turles explained that he meant no harm and needed Kami’s help.
  • Turles asked Kami to discuss the matter with him alone inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, while Tights stayed with Cacao.
  • As they walked, Turles told Kami that he was a Namekian, prompting Kami to ask about his people.
  • At the chamber entrance, Turles told Kami to wait and suddenly vanished.

Ch. 48Younger Brother?

Turles borrowed Korin's Senzu Beans and entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Kami, while Son Goku arrived at the Lookout and met Tights and Cacao. Tights concluded that Goku was Turles's younger brother because they looked alike and Goku was a Saiyan.

  • Turles took Korin's nearly empty jar of Senzu Beans, warned Yajirobe not to waste them, and hurried away.
  • Turles and Kami entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where Kami explained its harsh conditions and two-year lifetime limit.
  • Son Goku arrived at Kami's Lookout after losing track of Kami's ki, and Mr. Popo told him that Kami had entered the chamber with Turles.

  • Mr. Popo explained that Kami had stopped Goku's tail from growing back, and Tights declared that Goku was a Saiyan and Turles's younger brother.

Ch. 49"Ki"

Son Goku learned from Tights and Mr. Popo that Turles might be his Saiyan brother, while Tights began explaining the universe to him. In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Turles trained with Kami, who decided to safeguard Earth’s Dragon Balls and taught Turles to sense and control Ki.

  • Son Goku questioned whether Turles was his brother, and Mr. Popo said Turles looked exactly like him.
  • Tights explained that Son Goku was a Saiyan and offered to teach him about the universe.
  • Turles told Kami that the Grand Elder believed Planet Namek had been destroyed by excessive use of its Dragon Balls.
  • Kami decided that the Lookout would keep Earth's Dragon Balls and that they would only be used when Earth's survival was at stake.
  • Kami taught Turles to sense Ki, and Turles detected Kami's energy for the first time.
  • Kami instructed Turles to draw his Ki back into his body and blend with his surroundings.

Ch. 50Sisters

Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu arrived at Kami's Lookout to learn what had happened to Earth and Kami. There, Bulma reunited with her sister Tights, while Goku still struggled to explain the mysterious ki and Kami's disappearance.

Ch. 51Training breakthrough! Pseudo Super Saiyan!

After months of training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Turles mastered a Pseudo Super Saiyan state by stimulating his S-Cells and decided he was ready to leave. He estimated his normal combat power at over one million and believed his new form could rival Slug.

  • Turles's Ki erupted into a golden aura, terrifying Kami, before Turles regained control.
  • Turles reflected on how his martial arts training, weighted clothing, and Senzu Bean-assisted self-injury training had improved his strength and Ki control.
  • Turles used the S-Cells restored through his third wish to Porunga to develop a method of briefly activating them without fully transforming.
  • Turles mastered Pseudo Super Saiyan after nearly two months of practice and gained a tremendous boost in power.
  • Turles collected the Senzu Beans and told Kami it was time to leave the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Ch. 52An Unusual Relationship!

At the Lookout, the Earth warriors learned that Turles had taken Kami into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and decided not to interfere. Cacao refused Goku’s requests to spar, while Tights privately reflected on her changing opinion of Turles and his continued suspicion of her.

  • Tights and Mr. Popo explained the situation, and Mr. Popo warned that a third person entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber would trap everyone inside.
  • Krillin asked to check on Kami, but Mr. Popo said Kami was still alive and the group agreed not to act rashly.
  • Tien Shinhan asked about Cacao, and Tights explained that he was a war machine who obeyed Turles.

  • Son Goku and the others went to Kami and asked whether he was all right.

Ch. 54Comfort

After sharing a meal with Son Goku, Turles challenged him to join the Frieza Force, but Goku refused and vowed to defeat it. Turles then argued that Earth’s comfortable conditions had kept its warriors from growing strong, and offered them a chance to leave the planet and train.

  • Mr. Popo served a large meal, and Turles invited the hungry Son Goku to eat with him.
  • Turles praised Earth and asked Son Goku to join the Frieza Force, but Goku refused after learning it took planets from others.
  • Son Goku vowed to keep training until he surpassed Turles and could defeat the Frieza Force, earning agreement from the other Earth warriors.
  • Turles told the warriors that Earth’s safety and comfort had kept them weak, pointing out that King Piccolo had been an incomplete Namekian.
  • Turles offered the warriors a chance to leave Earth and see more of the universe once they had decided to become stronger, then went to rest.

Ch. 55Capsule Corporation

Turles visited Capsule Corporation with Tights and met her parents, Mrs. Briefs and Dr. Brief, while Mrs. Briefs mistakenly assumed he and Tights were dating. • Turles considered seeking Dr. Brief’s help for Cacao, whose training gains had fallen behind those of Amond, Daiz, and the others.

Ch. 56A Genius in the Field of Biotechnology

Turles learned that Dr. Gero might help with his biotechnology plans and set off toward North City after finding a clue to the scientist’s whereabouts. Dr. Brief also returned Turles’s upgraded scouter.

  • Tights felt envious of Bulma’s scientific talent, and Turles tried to reassure her by praising her writing.
  • Dr. Brief said a genius in artificial life technology might help Turles, and Bulma identified him as Dr. Gero.
  • Turles asked where Dr. Gero was, and Bulma found a magazine article saying he had often been spotted in North City.

Ch. 57Oh No, He's Coming for Me!

Turles tracked Dr. Gero to a hidden mountain laboratory, but found it empty and pursued him through an escape passage with Cacao’s help. After capturing Dr. Gero, Turles asked him to help upgrade Cacao, while Dr. Gero questioned Turles about his connection to Son Goku.

  • Turles argued that Son Goku had saved Dr. Gero's life and descendants, then suggested Gero could pursue world domination beyond Earth.
  • Turles offered Dr. Gero a planet, resources, and help rebuilding the Red Ribbon Army, and Gero asked him to prove he was an alien.
