"The Bansho Fan? Grandpa Master Roshi already threw it away."
Goku still remembered the original story. Grandpa Master Roshi had thrown the Bansho Fan away after getting it dirty, and it was eventually found at an old woman's house on an iceberg in the north.
"W-what? He threw it away? That does sound like something Master Roshi would do."
Ox-King was a little surprised at first, but then he remembered it was Master Roshi.
Oh, in that case, it was fine. That really was something he would do.
"Sorry, Goku. If the fire can't be put out, I can't get in either," Ox-King said, scratching his head.
"Uncle Ox-King, have you seen a ball like this?"
Bulma pulled a Dragon Ball out of her bag and showed it to Ox-King.
Ox-King turned to look and thought for a moment before nodding.
"I have. It should be in the palace on the mountain."
"Huh? Then doesn't that mean we can't get it?"
Bulma couldn't help feeling dejected. After all those days of hard work, they were down to the last two balls, only for this to happen...
"We don't necessarily need the Bansho Fan to put out the fire. I can do it myself."
Just as Bulma was feeling dejected, she heard Goku's voice.
Honestly, Goku was always like this. Whenever she lost hope, he was always the first to step forward.
Looking at little Goku, Bulma felt an emotion she couldn't quite describe.
"You can put it out? You mean..."
As Ox-King wondered what he meant, Goku flew into the sky, his right palm raised as he gathered ki in it.
"What's that?"
Bulma saw the blue energy ball swelling in the sky, her blue hair fluttering wildly.
The wind around them seemed to grow stronger, and the energy ball in the sky drew sand and stones off the ground like a black hole.
After gathering about half the ki in his body, Goku gave a gentle push toward the top of Mount Frypan, and the enormous blue energy ball drifted slowly above the mountain.
Boom!!!!
A flash of white light lit up, followed by a tremendous explosion. The world seemed to fall silent at that moment.
Even though the group was hundreds of meters away from Mount Frypan, they could still feel a fierce gust of wind rushing toward them.
"We're in trouble!"
Goku immediately realized he had underestimated the power of the energy blast.
Ki poured from his body like a fountain as he flew toward Bulma, racing against the wind.
Oolong immediately transformed into a towering robot to keep himself from being blown away.
Relying on his considerable martial arts skills, Yamcha planted his feet and held Puar protectively in his arms.
To Ox-King, the wind was nothing much, but for Bulma, it was a disaster.
"Goku!"
"I'm coming!"
The instant Bulma's feet left the ground and she was about to be blown away, Goku caught her in his arms and steadied himself.
"Phew!"
After catching Bulma, Goku breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he had made it in time.
"Sorry, Bulma. I didn't think about you."
"It's all right, Goku. Didn't you catch me?"
Bulma smiled at Goku, who looked somewhat remorseful.
When the gale died down, Goku descended from the sky with Bulma in his arms, and everyone looked toward Mount Frypan.
Where was Mount Frypan now? The flames on the mountain had long since died out, leaving only scorching ground.
Everyone swallowed and looked back at Goku. Oolong and Yamcha looked immensely relieved.
Thankfully, they had joined him instead of opposing him. Otherwise, they really would have gone to meet their great-grandmothers.
"All right, the fire's out now. Once the ground cools down, you can go up and pick out some treasure," Ox-King said happily.
After all these years, he could finally return to his palace!
"Bulma, give me the Dragon Radar. The ground on the mountain is too hot for you to go up."
Goku looked at the scorching ground on the mountain as he spoke to Bulma.
Looking at the ground, which was at least a hundred degrees, Bulma didn't think she could go up either. She could only give Goku the Dragon Radar and have him look for it.
Goku took the Dragon Radar and flew toward the palace on Mount Frypan.
A few minutes later, Goku flew back down with a Dragon Ball.
"Goku!"
Seeing Goku fly down, Bulma happily jumped up and down, waving.
"It's a Seven-Star Dragon Ball."
Goku handed the Dragon Ball to Bulma.
"Thank you, Uncle Ox-King," Goku said.
Just as Goku and the others were about to leave, Ox-King called out to them.
"Goku, could I ask you a favor?"
"Go ahead, Uncle Ox-King. What is it?"
"You see, I sent my daughter Chi-Chi to borrow the Bansho Fan from Master Roshi, didn't I? Now that the Bansho Fan is gone, could you bring her back? My daughter is timid by nature, and I'm a little worried something might happen to her," Ox-King said, scratching his head.
Goku nodded. He knew that Goku and Chi-Chi's relationship in the original story began at this moment, though that might not be the case now.
He knew Chi-Chi was a good mother and a good wife, a virtuous wife and loving mother, but that was for an ordinary person. But...
Sigh...
"Oh, right, here's a picture of my daughter." Ox-King took out a photo and showed it to Goku.
"What a cute little girl!" Oolong said after seeing the photo.
"Isn't she? Goku, as long as you can find her, I can let her marry you."
"Huh?" two voices exclaimed.
"Let's forget about marrying me, Uncle Ox-King."
"Yes, yes! Two people have to love each other to get married. Even if Goku likes him, your daughter doesn't like Goku, so how could that work?"
Bulma tried to persuade Ox-King.
"Oh, right. You have a point. All right, then." Ox-King was a little disappointed.
"Then I'll get going. Bulma, you and the others wait here. I should be back soon."
"Okay!"
With that, Goku flew along the road leading to Master Roshi's house.
He had already sensed Chi-Chi's ki. With his power level of just over 300, the range of his ki sensing was quite large.
After flying about ten kilometers, Goku spotted Chi-Chi with his own eyes. She had just reduced a dinosaur to ashes.
"Chi-Chi!"
"Huh? Who's there?"
Chi-Chi, who had been frightened, suddenly heard someone calling him. She stopped crying, wiped the tears from her face, and looked around.
Goku slowly descended from the sky and landed in front of Chi-Chi.
"W-were you the one who called me?"
Chi-Chi asked Goku, a little frightened.
"Yes. Your father, Ox-King, sent me to find you."
"My daddy?"
"Right. He asked me to bring you back. The fire on Mount Frypan is already out, so we don't need the Bansho Fan anymore. Let's go."
"Okay."
Chi-Chi was very innocent and agreed without thinking much about it.
"Flying Nimbus!"
At Goku's call, a cloud flew over from the distance. Goku glanced at Chi-Chi and said, "Sit on this."
"Sit on this."
After Chi-Chi climbed onto the Flying Nimbus, Goku used the Flight Technique to rise into the air, grabbed hold of the Flying Nimbus, and flew toward Mount Frypan.
Goku didn't want to have too much contact with Chi-Chi, mainly because he didn't dare and didn't want to face her.
"Hey, everyone!" Goku spotted Bulma, Ox-King, and the others from far away and waved as he shouted.
"Oh, Goku!"
Ox-King had the sharpest eyes and was the first to spot Goku and his daughter.
As soon as Goku and Chi-Chi landed, Chi-Chi ran straight from the Flying Nimbus to Ox-King.
"Boo-hoo, Daddy, I was so scared! Could you not send me out alone next time?"
Seeing Chi-Chi like this, Ox-King was very distressed and hurried to comfort her.
"There, there, Chi-Chi, don't cry. Daddy won't send you out again next time."
Watching the father and daughter, Goku and his companions couldn't help smiling warmly.
"Well then, Uncle Ox-King, goodbye for real this time." Goku waved goodbye to the father and daughter.
"Oh, Goku, are you leaving so soon? I wanted to entertain you and thank you for putting out the fire on Mount Frypan."
"Yes, we still have to find the remaining Dragon Balls. You can entertain us another time if we get the chance. Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!" four voices called.
"Come back again!"
