Her parents, who had been mourning her, found her alive amid its awakening phenomena 1 2.

Although initially uncomfortable accepting the original princess’s family as her own, she returned Chen Qingqian’s embrace and reassured her that she would remain with her. Privately, she continued to struggle with the knowledge that their original daughter had died 2 6.

Recruitment into Ziwei Holy Land

The awakening attracted Li Changsheng, Ziwei Holy Land’s progenitor, who personally invited Ji Zining to its recruitment ceremony. She accepted because the Holy Land could support her long-term cultivation while remaining close enough for visits to the Flowing Moon Dynasty. Li Changsheng advanced the ceremony by seven years and gave her a storage ring filled with supreme-grade spirit stones 5 6.

At the ceremony, Ji Zining lit every star on the talent-testing stele before causing it to explode. She subsequently received half the True Martial Dao Domain’s providence and became Ziwei Holy Land’s Divine Child. The position placed her on equal footing with Holy Lord Hua Qianyan 15 18 19.

Securing her family’s future

Li Changsheng arranged protection for Ji Zining’s family, and Ji Chenkong became an outer guest elder of Ziwei Holy Land. His access to Dao Comprehension Tea helped him attain Spirit Transformation and comprehend Fist Intent. Ji Zining also gave him five million supreme-grade spirit stones for the Flowing Moon Dynasty 19 20 27 31.

Challenges from rival factions

Visiting factions sought to use Ji Zining as a stepping stone for their own geniuses and damage her Dao heart before she could mature. She accepted their challenges, defeated Li Chuan with a breath carrying Sword Intent, and later incapacitated the assembled Spirit Transformation geniuses with one sword strike while sparing their lives 38 39 42 49.

She then fought Qianchenzi, a Fifth-Level Saint King whose cultivation Hua Qianyan had sealed at Peak Nascent Soul. After countering his soul attack with the Primordial Spirit Refining Art, she beheaded him. The remaining envoys lost confidence in challenging her, and reports of her victories spread throughout the True Martial Dao Domain 42 43 44 49.

Breakthrough and autograph craze

Following the confrontations, Ji Zining advanced to Spirit Transformation and used her heavenly tribulation to strengthen her body. The accompanying clouds spread across 100,000 li, and opening both eye orifices awakened her Eye of Insight 45 46 47.

She introduced autographs to the admiring disciples, only to spend the afternoon signing robes. The resulting craze spread to elders and counterfeiters. Embarrassed by the sight of disciples wearing her name, she abandoned a disguised sightseeing trip and returned to cultivation. Li Changsheng mistakenly interpreted the craze as a calculated effort to establish her future authority 47 48 50.

Personality

Ji Zining treats cultivation as a means of gaining security and control over her fate. Despite possessing a system named for an idle lifestyle, she repeatedly chooses active cultivation rather than relying on sign-in rewards alone. She also recognizes that talent provides an advantage, not a substitute for learning techniques and developing practical strength 3 4 23.

Her confidence is tempered by caution. She chooses Ziwei Holy Land as protection while she is weak, conceals the Immortal-Slaying Sword because she cannot yet defend it, and insists that Qianchenzi’s cultivation be sealed rather than trusting him to suppress it voluntarily 10 23 42.

She is affectionate and materially generous toward her family, but severe toward perceived disrespect and hostility. She funds her father’s dynasty and promises to protect it, yet destroys the eyes of Ji Yan’s nephew for his offensive staring and kills Qianchenzi during their duel 31 33 36 43.

Her internal commentary is often playful and self-aware. She enjoys the disciples’ admiration without considering it a reason to stop improving, but the autograph craze leaves her embarrassed and eager to escape attention 45 48 50.
