Background / History
Leadership and Kedi’s Death
A personal disciple of the Original Ancestor, the Chaos City Lord manages humanity’s internal affairs while Giant Axe searches the Universe Ocean for a True Supreme Treasure. His responsibilities include defending against hostile races and maintaining stability among humanity’s five major factions 186.
According to Lin Mo’s account, he once accepted the exceptional human genius Kedi as a personal disciple and devoted extensive resources to his development. At the peak World Lord level, Kedi entered a Cosmic Secret Realm seeking an opportunity to become Immortal, only to fall into a trap organized by the Demon, Zerg, and Machine races. A Zerg Mother Emperor soul-enslaved him, leading to his complete destruction 187.
The Chaos City Lord condemned the three races but avoided military retaliation, fearing a joint assault on humanity. Lin Mo regarded this restraint as a failure toward his disciple and argued that it emboldened subsequent assassinations of human geniuses within Human Territory 187.
Interest in Luo Feng
- The Chaos City Lord began observing Luo Feng when he first entered Chaos City. His interest concerned both Luo Feng’s talent and Lin Mo’s presence within Luo Feng’s sea of consciousness 181.
- After Luo Feng cleared the Heavenly Bridge’s eleventh floor, he expressed interest in accepting him as a personal disciple. His junior brother, the Lord of Ice Peak, made a competing offer 183.
- Lin Mo acknowledged that the Chaos City Lord’s strength, standing, and authorship of the Universe Chaos Stele made him an excellent match for Luo Feng’s cultivation. Nevertheless, he recommended Ice Peak’s more protective approach to disciples 186.
- Luo Feng chose Ice Peak after hearing Lin Mo’s account of Kedi’s death. The Chaos City Lord later confronted Lin Mo about his influence over that decision 187 210.
Lin Mo’s Pledge of Allegiance
During their private meeting in the Chaos Ruins, the Chaos City Lord saw through Lin Mo’s disguise and demanded that he prove his allegiance before receiving access to humanity’s most valuable cultivation resources. His aim was to bind the promising alien cultivator to the Human Race 210 211.
| Condition | Terms |
|---|---|
| Join the Hongmeng Alliance | Lin Mo agreed, but negotiated to delay joining until he reached the Universe Venerable realm 211. |
| Permanently kill 100 enemy Immortals | The targets had to belong to the Zerg, Demon, and Machine races and be destroyed beyond resurrection through Reverse Time and Space 211. |
| Kill 10 enemy Universe Venerables | Required after Lin Mo became a Universe Venerable. Destroying their divine bodies in direct combat would count; preventing resurrection was unnecessary 211. |
| Resources granted in exchange | Permanent residence in Chaos City and unlimited opportunities to study all 52 Chaos Tablets 211. |
Delivering Luo Feng’s Treasures
- The Lord of Ice Peak entrusted Luo Feng’s World Lord trial equipment to the Chaos City Lord for safekeeping 213.
- He delivered the Shi Wu Wings and an unnamed dark-red battle saber, explaining that Ice Peak had paid a considerable number of Supreme Treasure Points to acquire the wings from him 214.
- Before Luo Feng departed, he concealed both treasures’ auras to prevent Universe Venerables from recognizing their true grade 214.
Star Tower Fallout
Lin Mo’s campaign in the Star Tower annihilated nearly twenty thousand alien King-level Immortals and produced exactly one hundred soul slaves from the three enemy races, all at least Peak King level. When confronted, Lin Mo presented the enslavements as fulfillment of the Chaos City Lord’s demands 227 228.
Although furious, the Chaos City Lord agreed to suppress the fallout and fend off alien demands for an explanation. He judged that punishing Lin Mo could alienate Luo Feng, whom he now considered a potential future Universe Master. Ice Peak subsequently apologized on his senior brother’s behalf, canceled Lin Mo’s three conditions, and offered compensation 228.
Disputes over Access and Protection
- Giant Axe’s Miniature Universe: After Lin Mo became a Universe Master, the Chaos City Lord rejected his request to cultivate there, citing his alien origins and the danger of misplaced trust. Ice Peak demanded a council decision; the Original Ancestor’s endorsement ultimately secured approval 253 254.
- Primal Star preparations: At Giant Axe’s direction, he presided over the Supreme Council, announced the Primal Star’s opening, explained the Contribution Points system, and gave humanity’s Venerables ten years to prepare 260.
- Luo Feng’s departure from headquarters: Despite condemning Luo Feng’s decision to leave while enemy races were targeting him, he arranged for the Lord of Long Xing to protect him secretly 298.
The Proposed Sacrifice of Luo Feng’s Body
After Luo Feng killed more than six thousand alien Universe Venerables, the Chaos City Lord feared retaliation and a wider racial war. He privately proposed allowing the enemy races to publicly kill one of Luo Feng’s bodies so they could recover their prestige 306 307 308.
Luo Feng rejected the proposal, broke through the spacetime screen surrounding their conversation, and returned to Lin Mo. Unable to compel him, the Chaos City Lord reflected regretfully on his earlier decision to force Lin Mo into a pledge of allegiance 308.
Silk Thread Map Negotiations
When Lin Mo acquired the Silk Thread Map, he required the Chaos City Lord to meet him alone before trading with humanity. Ice Peak explicitly linked Lin Mo’s hostility to the pledge of allegiance and the proposed sacrifice of Luo Feng’s clone 328.
The Chaos City Lord considered buying a rubbing through another faction, but ultimately agreed to meet. During their conversation, he apologized for prioritizing humanity’s interests while disregarding Lin Mo’s feelings 328 329.
Lin Mo demanded a Peak Soul-type Supreme Treasure, with its cost deducted from Luo Feng’s treasury points, in exchange for the original map. After weighing humanity’s future exploration needs, the Chaos City Lord accepted and completed the transaction 329.
Appearance
His body stationed in Chaos City has a fierce, non-Earthling appearance 210 214.
- Build: Tall and burly, approximately three meters in height 210.
- Face and eyes: Ferocious features and unfathomably deep eyes 210.
- Tail: A thick, armored, scale-covered tail extending beneath his battle skirt 210.
- Clothing: Intricate ancient dark-red battle armor and battle boots 210.
Personality
The Chaos City Lord places humanity’s collective survival above individual interests. Lin Mo describes him as exceptionally impartial—an outstanding leader whose obligations can prevent him from protecting even a favored disciple when doing so threatens the race’s stability 186 187.
His caution toward outsiders shapes his dealings with Lin Mo. He uses access to cultivation resources as leverage to secure allegiance and later refuses access to Giant Axe’s Miniature Universe despite Ice Peak’s personal guarantee 210 211 253.
He can restrain his anger when retaliation would damage humanity’s long-term interests. After the Star Tower incident, he protects Lin Mo rather than risk losing Luo Feng’s loyalty. Later, he apologizes and accepts an uncomfortable negotiation when humanity needs the Silk Thread Map 228 329.
His missed opportunity to teach Luo Feng remains a personal regret. Seeing Ice Peak and Darkness with accomplished disciples, he envies them and imagines how things might have developed had Luo Feng chosen him 315.
Abilities & Skills
Space-Time Control
He uses a Universe Master’s control of spacetime to identify concealed individuals and isolate conversations 210 308.
- Sees through Lin Mo’s appearance-changing technique, which could deceive Universe Venerables but not him 210.
- Screens off the surrounding spacetime during his private discussion with Luo Feng 308.
- His screen is not absolute: Luo Feng forcibly dispels it with an eruption of divine power 308.
Multiple Bodies
He possesses three bodies in total, including the slaughter-oriented body stationed in Chaos City 214.
- His Thousand Treasure River clone conducts the private map negotiation with Lin Mo 329.
- His possession of clones contrasts with Ice Peak’s lack of such protection while exploring the Universe Ocean 290.
- His divine body is relatively ordinary compared with Special Lifeforms possessing enormous bodies, a noted limitation among veteran Tier 5 experts 334.
Law Comprehension and Instruction
He created the Universe Chaos Stele, described as the most profound of Chaos City’s 52 steles 186.
- Its Space-Time Law path closely matches Luo Feng’s studies 186 210.
- Lin Mo acknowledges that studying directly under its creator could greatly accelerate Luo Feng’s understanding 186.
Treasure Aura Concealment
He applies a secret technique that hides the Supreme Treasure auras of the Shi Wu Wings and Luo Feng’s dark-red saber 214.
- Even Universe Venerables cannot reliably identify their grade from their appearance or use in combat.
- Observers would, at most, mistake them for unusually powerful True Treasures 214.
