Personality

The Ice Empress is proud, sharp-tongued, and openly contemptuous toward Tian Meng. She repeatedly calls him a good-for-nothing and initially dismisses the possibility that he could restrain her. After joining Xiao Yan, she continues to resent Tian Meng and rarely treats him warmly 1 3 18.

Her fear of death drives her decision to become a Soul Spirit. Knowing that her next tribulation would arrive within a century, she weighs Xiao Yan's extraordinary talent against his arrogance. Once committed, she relinquishes her Spiritual Origin without hesitation and takes responsibility for guiding the dangerous fusion 2 3.

Her trust in Xiao Yan grows through his endurance and progress. She offers him help on the grounds that their fortunes are now shared, but remains willing to warn him against dangerous experiments 3 7 27.

With the Snow Empress, her manner becomes noticeably warmer. She recounts her experiences honestly, acknowledges the risks of becoming a Soul Spirit, and refuses to use their bond to pressure the Snow Empress into the same choice 33.

History

Capture in the Far North

Facing an approaching heavenly tribulation, the Ice Empress responds to Tian Meng's released Spiritual Origin, intending to devour him and use his energy to survive. Tian Meng briefly immobilizes her with spiritual power, then binds her in his million-year shed skin. Neither her freezing power nor her physical attacks can tear it apart 1.

After Xiao Yan reaches the outskirts of the Far North, Tian Meng explains his plan to help a human attain godhood and preserve their lives alongside him. The Ice Empress initially considers human–Soul Beast symbiosis madness. Xiao Yan gives her three minutes to decide whether to become his third Martial Soul, forcing her to weigh his talent against her distrust of his confidence 2.

Becoming Xiao Yan's Soul Spirit

The Ice Empress accepts and transfers her Spiritual Origin into Xiao Yan. She directs him to absorb her Torso Bone before her Soul Ring, then burns away her original body's origin to complete the fusion. During the process, Tian Meng helps raise her ring from 390,000 to 400,000 years 3.

She sleeps afterward and awakens about a month later. Finding that Xiao Yan has reached rank forty-two, she checks his compatibility with the new Martial Soul and offers further assistance. The Nine Fire Heavenly Plate inspires an instinctive fear in her, reinforcing her belief that she chose correctly 4 7.

Supporting Ring Fusion Research

The Ice Empress assists Xiao Yan's early Ring Fusion experiments by freezing the Heavy Xuan Ruler. The stabilized weapon helps him investigate Soul Power circulation and develop the approach that becomes Multiple Casting 18 19.

Although the underlying theory often bewilders her, she remains involved in his training. When he later proposes Ring Detonation, she and Tian Meng urge him to master ordinary fusion first 27 28.

Reunion with the Snow Empress

At Mingde Hall, the Ice Empress recognizes the Snow Empress within the embryo Xiao Yan intends to absorb. She cautions him against underestimating her and helps protect his consciousness during contact 32.

The Snow Empress initially suspects that the Ice Empress was forced into becoming a human's Soul Ring. The Ice Empress reassures her that her consciousness and free will remain intact, explains her choice, and states that she does not regret it. Rather than demand that the Snow Empress follow her, she leaves the decision to her 33.

When the Snow Empress agrees, the Ice Empress helps guide the fusion. Afterward, she stays beside the Snow Empress's white cocoon, helping stabilize her injured origin while she sleeps 34 35.
