She therefore suspects that her Second Soul Core breakthrough failed 10.

The future also shows that her relationship with Ye Xiao is reciprocal rather than simply that of master and subordinate: she teaches him Emperor Sword, while he offers guidance in his cultivation methods. Their closeness becomes one of the revelations that prompts Ye Guyi's jealousy 10.

Protecting Ye Xiao

When a powerful pillar of light appears at the Far North's entrance, the Snow Empress investigates with the Ice Empress and four hundred-thousand-year Ice Jade Scorpions. They arrive during Lin Huiqun's attack on Ye Xiao's protectors 23 24.

The Snow Empress freezes the critically injured Wu Qingyao to preserve her fading life force and orders the hostile humans away. Although she initially points out that they are outside the Far North's boundary, the Ice Empress has the boundary sign moved past them.
