Bibi Dong looked at Bai Guyue, who was still standing beside the carriage.
"Aren't you getting in?"
Bai Guyue walked up to the carriage. "I can just ride with them. You should get some proper rest, Your Holiness."
Right now, he just wanted some peace and quiet.
Yue Guan and Gui Mei were stunned.
Brother Bai, you have a blessing right in front of you, yet you'd rather squeeze in with us.
"Dream on."
Bibi Dong reached out, seized Bai Guyue's hand, and pulled him straight into the carriage before shutting the door.
"Set off!"
The carriage slowly started moving.
"Can't I have a little rest?"
Bai Guyue was speechless.
"Of course you can. You can rest inside."
Bibi Dong smiled faintly.
Bai Guyue closed his eyes and tried to rest, but a pair of eyes kept staring straight at him, making him very uncomfortable.
Forget it. I'll just rest.
Bibi Dong was delighted. If there really was something good at that place in Sunset Forest, they could hold the wedding ahead of schedule.
If they could also find Tang Hao's whereabouts, she could have Bai Guyue kill him outright. Then no one on the continent would question her marriage to Bai Guyue.
As she thought about this, Bibi Dong also wondered whether Bai Guyue had enough provisions stored up for them to cultivate together.
After an unknown amount of time, the carriage stopped.
Yue Guan's voice followed. "Your Holiness, we've arrived at Sunset Forest."
"I understand."
Bibi Dong answered him.
Then she woke Bai Guyue and got out of the carriage with him.
"Your Holiness, what exactly did we come here to do?" Yue Guan asked, puzzled.
"Xiao Bai said there was something good here, so we came to take a look," Bibi Dong explained.
"Something good?" Yue Guan grew curious as well.
What could be so good that His Holiness the Pope would come in person? And considering how Bai Guyue borrowed my records of Immortal Herbs before, could it be...
Yue Guan wondered, but he still couldn't be sure.
He knew better than anyone how rare Immortal Herbs were. If Bai Guyue really had found them so easily, he would have to admire him.
"Let's go. Follow me."
Bai Guyue led the way, and the others followed one after another.
The path they were taking through Sunset Forest was one people often traveled, with footprints clearly visible. But Bai Guyue suddenly turned right, then walked a while before turning left.
After all that, the three were somewhat baffled. Was there really something that good here?
Though full of questions, the three continued to follow Bai Guyue.
After they had walked some distance, Bibi Dong noticed that there were hardly any Soul Beasts along the way, and there were even signs that someone had deliberately dealt with them.
The signs weren't particularly obvious, but she could still make them out.
They passed through a thicket, and the view suddenly opened up to reveal a valley. Before it, however, stood a green poison formation.
Around it lay quite a few Soul Beasts that had wandered into the formation by mistake.
Of course, they were all dead, reduced to piles of white bones.
"No wonder there are hardly any Soul Beasts around. There's a poison formation here."
Bibi Dong approached the poison formation and examined it. She found it exceptionally powerful, and its maker was no weaker than a Soul Douluo.
"Your Holiness, with our strength, entering the poison formation won't be difficult," Yue Guan said.
"That's right, and this poison isn't as potent as mine."
Bibi Dong took Bai Guyue by the hand and walked straight into the poison formation, with Yue Guan and Gui Mei close behind.
With Soul Power barriers, they had no fear of the poison seeping into their bodies.
Once they were inside, Bibi Dong had yet to get a firm grip when Bai Guyue instantly pulled his hand free. "Your Holiness, perhaps you shouldn't hold on so tightly."
"All right, all right."
Bibi Dong made a mental note.
So you want to be that arrogant, do you? Just wait until our wedding night. I'll show you how I deal with you and let you see what I'm capable of.
"Let's go in. The good stuff is inside."
Bai Guyue paid Bibi Dong no mind. Instead, he walked farther in and urged the three to catch up.
The four entered the valley.
After walking some distance, Bai Guyue, who was in the lead, stopped.
"What is it?"
Bibi Dong was still wondering why Bai Guyue had stopped when she reached his side. The moment she saw the sight before her, her eyes went wide.
Yue Guan and Gui Mei were equally stunned.
Before them lay an inverted-cone-shaped mountain basin. At its center was a pool, divided into two distinct halves like the yin-yang fish of a taiji symbol.
On one side, the spring water was a scalding crimson, bubbles constantly churning on its surface as billows of white mist rose from it, carrying a faint scent of sulfur.
The other side was icy white and clear, radiating a piercing chill as wisps of white vapor curled upward. Yet the icy and fiery waters never mingled, the boundary between them perfectly distinct.
Rare Immortal Herbs of every description grew all over the ground surrounding the pool, while exotic flowers of every color bloomed in profusion. An aura of life so rich it was almost tangible filled the entire valley.
Two utterly different currents of spiritual energy from heaven and earth, one hot and one cold, intertwined and collided here, while mist swirled through the valley.
"It really is a wonderful place."
Bai Guyue sighed in admiration.
"Brother Bai, did you already know about this place?"
As delighted as Yue Guan was, he didn't believe Bai Guyue knew nothing about it.
"No." Bai Guyue smiled and shook his head.
Yue Guan looked at Bai Guyue's smile and said no more. Instead, like a child, he happily plunged into the sea of flowers before him.
He swept his gaze around at lightning speed.
"Aromatic Silk Beauty, Lovesick Heartbreak Red, Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew, and..."
Yue Guan's eyes fell on a flower with an enormous blossom and magnificent purple petals covered in fine down.
Its stamen rose more than half a foot above the petals, its tip shimmering faintly gold. The whole Immortal Herb formed a harmonious whole, yet gave off not the slightest fragrance.
"Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum! Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum!"
Unable to believe it, Yue Guan immediately rushed over to the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum.
After examining it closely and confirming its identity, Yue Guan grew excited. "At last, I, Yue Guan, have found it! The Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum! I, Yue Guan, have struck treasure!"
With the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, my strength can rise by another huge leap, making up for my regret at not absorbing a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring as my ninth Soul Ring.
Even if a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone were placed right in front of him now, he would choose the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum without hesitation.
"Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum?"
Bibi Dong saw that the Immortal Herb before Yue Guan was identical to his Martial Soul.
As for the Immortal Herbs around them, although she didn't know what they did, they were surely extremely precious.
"They really do exist."
Gui Mei had thought the book in which Yue Guan had recorded Immortal Herbs was just something he had written on a whim. He hadn't expected them to actually exist.
"Old Ghost, I told you, if something could be recorded, it had to exist, but you wouldn't believe me."
Yue Guan was convinced now.
If I swallow the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, I might be able to join the ranks of those at level 96.
If I had a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring, combined with the effects of the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, I might even be able to attempt to reach the legendary realm, Level 99.
"Yue Guan, do you know what these things do?" Bibi Dong asked, very curious about the effects of these Immortal Herbs.
Yue Guan nodded. "I do. And Brother Bai has already read my book, so he should know as well."
