Aftermath of the Explosion

Outside the door, Room 301, riddled with holes, remained undisturbed by any Oddities from beginning to end.

Neither the Oddities residing in the dormitory building, nor the Security Guards patrolling the campus, nor the higher-ups at Scarlet Preferred had ever seen anything unusual.

It was as if the commotion happening here was not drawing any attention.

The night passed without incident.

"Ring ring~~~!"

"Ring ring~~~!"

At 5:30 AM, Mu Rufeng's alarm clock rang precisely on time.

"Yawn~! Slept so well," Mu Rufeng said as he got up, rubbing his eyes and yawning.

There was still some noise outside, but Mu Rufeng paid it no mind.

After getting up, Mu Rufeng went to the balcony.

He glanced at the restroom but didn't go in.

For some reason, it felt like he no longer needed to relieve himself.

Since entering the dungeon world, approximately 22 hours had passed, and he hadn't felt any urge to urinate or defecate.

It was clear that this was a convenience brought about by his zombie physique.

Arriving at the washbasin, Mu Rufeng turned on the faucet.

After a while, there was no reaction.

There was no water here.

"Never mind, I'll go to the cafeteria and get water from a vending machine to wash my face," Mu Rufeng shook his head and walked straight out of the dormitory.

When Mu Rufeng exited his room, Rooms 302 and 304 opposite were still in the same state as before.

However, a large crowd of Oddities had gathered here.

They were all the Oddity employees living in the dormitory building, and they were all discussing amongst themselves.

"I say, what exactly happened yesterday? Such a huge commotion."

"Yeah, that explosion, the whole building shook a few times, and it even knocked me off my bed."

"I was hunting outside last night. Later, I ran into some patrolling Security Guards and fled back to the dormitory building, and then the explosion happened. It nearly scared me to death."

"It seems like the Dorm Manager and an Oddity were fighting. I don't know who won."

The Oddities were all chattering.

When the door of Room 301 opened, it didn't attract anyone's attention.

All their attention was focused on the room where the explosion had occurred.

These Oddities didn't seem to be from this floor; they were either from upstairs or downstairs.

The Oddities living on this floor seemed to have already gone to the cafeteria for meals at five o'clock.

"Make way, make way."

"Excuse me, please let me pass."

Mu Rufeng politely said to the crowded Oddities.

"Get lost, or I'll swallow you whole," a pig-headed Oddity roared.

"A living person? You're not dead yet? If you're not dead, just behave yourself. What are you squeezing in here for?" another Oddity snapped.

"Get out of my way!"

Mu Rufeng took out his cleaver and struck the door of Room 303.

With a dull thud, the cleaver directly sliced into the door panel.

Mu Rufeng's action instantly stunned everyone.

This was a dormitory door, and even the Dorm Manager found it difficult to break. Yet, it was so easily cleaved open?

Also, how familiar was this cleaver? Wasn't this the same knife that was on the Knife Ghost's head?

Did the Knife Ghost get killed by this living person?

In an instant, these Oddities thought of many things, and then, one by one, they stepped aside, clearing a path.

"You don't know what's good for you, you're spoiled rotten," Mu Rufeng snorted coldly, put away his cleaver, and strode towards the stairs.

Mu Rufeng noticed that his temper seemed to have become more irritable.

"Is it because I absorbed blood last night?" Mu Rufeng muttered.

Having absorbed so much energy and blood last night, coupled with the influence of his zombie physique, Mu Rufeng's personality had undergone a slight change.

Before long, Mu Rufeng went downstairs.

It was at this moment that a group of Oddities wearing safety helmets and uniforms entered the dormitory building through the main entrance.

Mu Rufeng brushed past the group of people.

He guessed these people might be here to deal with the situation on the third floor.

Several minutes later, Mu Rufeng arrived at the cafeteria.

It was 5:40 AM, the peak of the morning rush, so the cafeteria was extremely lively.

Most of the Oddities were discussing what had happened last night.

Even when Mu Rufeng entered the cafeteria, it only attracted the attention of a few Oddities.

Soon, Mu Rufeng arrived at the vending machine.

The vending machine started up precisely at 5 o'clock, so when Mu Rufeng arrived, it trembled all over.

"Huh, it recovered so quickly? And the sold-out items have been restocked?" Mu Rufeng said in surprise.

The vending machine was no longer in its previously damaged state, and even the items Mu Rufeng had bought out were restocked.

"Good morning, sir. What would you like to eat?"

"We have instant noodles, bread, and fresh milk." The vending machine displayed a fawning expression.

It also extended its hands, ready to grab whatever Mu Rufeng needed at any moment.

"Alright, go and make me a bowl of every flavor of instant noodles. Get me a few pieces of bread to fill my stomach, and for the milk, give me the one-liter carton," Mu Rufeng instructed.

"Certainly, no problem."

The vending machine successfully changed the subject and then busied itself preparing breakfast for Mu Rufeng.

"Oh, right, get me a bottle of water first," Mu Rufeng added.

Soon, Mu Rufeng unscrewed a bottle of mineral water.

He poured a little onto his hands and then wiped it directly on his face.

After repeating this and rinsing his mouth, half the bottle was gone.

Mu Rufeng didn't waste the rest, drinking the remaining half bottle in one go.

After eating three or four pieces of bread, the vending machine came over with the instant noodles.

"Sir, your noodles are ready," the vending machine said obsequiously.

"Mm," Mu Rufeng replied.

Just then, a tall and robust Oddity approached Mu Rufeng's table.

With a loud "Bang!"

A bowl and plate were slammed onto the table.

"I heard another living person arrived yesterday. I thought they wouldn't make it through the night, but I didn't expect you to actually survive."

"I haven't finished my breakfast yet. Since you seem to have a good relationship with the vending machine, have it get me a few packs of dried shredded meat and some meat paste bread."

This Oddity was at least two meters tall, powerfully built, and covered in muscle.

However, instead of a human head, it had the head of a horse.

It looked exactly like the Horse-Face Ghost, a Yama guard from the underworld legends.

The Horse-Face Ghost sat opposite Mu Rufeng, its large horse eyes looking at him mockingly.

Upon hearing this, Mu Rufeng looked up at the Horse-Face Ghost and said calmly, "I've met many beggars, but I've never met a beggar as arrogant as you. Go find somewhere cool to hang out."

"Hmph?" The Horse-Face Ghost's mocking gaze instantly froze.

After a moment, rage surged within it.

A mere living person, an ant fit only to be food, dared to speak to him like that.

"Heh heh, you've got a tough mouth, kid. But that's okay, I like eating those with tough mouths. Hehehehe...!"
