Background / History

Scarlet Preferred first appears as a solo-instance workplace entered by Mu Rufeng after a black umbrella engulfs him in smoke. Its logistics park serves as the setting for applicants to choose warehouse and delivery-related jobs. 3

Mu Rufeng later invested fifty billion Soul Coins in the company in exchange for a rule-protected 7% equity contract, becoming its third-largest shareholder at the time. The company accepted the deal despite offering less equity than its valuation would ordinarily warrant, in part because Mu Rufeng was a Contractor. 77

Facing pressure from Undead Preferred and Xixi Preferred, Scarlet Preferred's executives sought access to the real world as a way to secure new goods and avoid being contained in the Oddity World market. Mu Rufeng's shareholder status gave him the ability to summon Scarlet Preferred in danger, allowing the company to briefly cross world barriers and establish transfer channels. 105 106
