Search for Evil Fire Suppression
Ma Xiaotao suffers from Evil Fire inherited through her bloodline. Before meeting Yu Tianqing, she relied on ice- and water-attribute abilities to suppress it rather than remove it. She generally sought treatment only when cultivation pushed the fire close to the limit of what she could endure 30 33.
At Shrek Academy’s gates, she approached Ling Luochen for help, preferring her Ultimate Ice to the Xuanming Shield. She offered cultivation resources in exchange, but Ling Luochen refused because she was waiting for Yu Tianqing. Ma Xiaotao stayed beside her and witnessed their public reunion 25.
Yu Tianqing’s Inner-Court Assessment
When Cai Mei’er proposed having Ling Luochen conduct Yu Tianqing’s entrance assessment, Ma Xiaotao volunteered instead. She hoped to pressure Ling Luochen into suppressing her Evil Fire by threatening to make the match difficult for him. The exchange also revealed that Yu Tianqing ranked as her martial uncle, despite being her contemporary 28.
Ma Xiaotao publicized the duel by flying around Sea God Island. During the fight, her flames stopped ordinary projectiles, but Yu Tianqing mixed Ice Extreme Divine Crystal bullets into his barrage. One pierced her wing and disrupted her Soul Power, allowing him to close in and kick her out of bounds. Yang Lightning Treatment
Afterward, Ma Xiaotao discovered that her nearly overflowing Evil Fire had decreased by five percent. Connecting the change to Yu Tianqing’s lightning-infused kicks, she visited him the following morning and requested treatment. Ling Luochen objected, and Ma Xiaotao secured her agreement only after accepting her as a martial aunt 30 32.
Yu Tianqing purified the accumulated Evil Fire with Yang Lightning while Ling Luochen supported Ma Xiaotao. The treatment left her temporarily exhausted but provided greater relief than her previous suppression methods. She departed promising to return for future sessions 33.

Her pride can give way to practicality. Although she resents treating Ling Luochen as a senior, she accepts the title of “martial aunt” when it becomes a condition for treatment. Once relieved of her Evil Fire, she immediately resumes teasing Ling Luochen about Yu Tianqing 32 33.
