Arc 1Jarilo-VI and Fansha Star

Hanxing joined the Stellaron Hunters, helped the Astral Express crew confront the crisis on Jarilo-VI, and returned with the Stellaron. He and Firefly then became stranded on Fansha Star, while Kafka approached the Astral Express crew about the Luofu.

  • Kafka found Hanxing injured in the snow, named him, and recruited him into the Stellaron Hunters.
  • Hanxing revealed his Star Eyes and sword abilities during training, and he used them to relieve Firefly’s illness symptoms before passing out.
  • Hanxing traveled to Jarilo-VI, met the Astral Express crew, and accompanied Bronya, Caelus, and Seele through the Underworld as they sought help and supplies.
  • Hanxing met Clara and persuaded her to arrange a meeting with Svarog, who attacked the group before giving them access to his Stellaron information.
  • The group learned from Serval that the Stellaron lay in the snowfields, then fought through the restricted zone and confronted Cocolia.
  • Hanxing defeated Cocolia with Caelus’s help, took the Stellaron, and returned to the Stellaron Hunters, where he restored Cocolia and celebrated his mission with Firefly.
  • Hanxing and Firefly traveled toward Edo Star but landed on Fansha Star, where they learned that the planet was cut off from the outside and bound by a curse.
  • Yan Bai showed Hanxing and Firefly the revolutionary army’s advance, while Kafka asked the Astral Express crew to change course to the Luofu and refused to hand Hanxing over.
Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1New World

An amnesiac young man named Hanxing arrived in a snowy world and was rescued by the Stellaron Hunters, who invited him to join them. After meeting the group and learning that his blade was called the Blade of Ending, he went to rest while Kafka and Silver Wolf wondered why Elio considered him important.

  • Kafka found the injured young man in the snow and ordered Blade to carry him aboard the ship.
  • The young man woke up, learned that he had lost his memory, and accepted Kafka's offer to join the Stellaron Hunters.
  • Kafka named him Hanxing, while Firefly gave him a phone and headphones and Kafka returned his xiuchun blade.
  • Kafka introduced Hanxing to Silver Wolf and Blade and explained that the Stellaron Hunters followed Elio's script.
  • Firefly led Hanxing to his room, and Kafka told Silver Wolf that Elio had said Hanxing was important.

Ch. 2Special training

After waking from a nightmare, Hanxing began combat training with Blade as part of a mission that required him to prove his strength. Blade’s Mara-Struck assault killed Hanxing, but he regenerated with mysterious blue stars in his eyes and resumed the fight with a powerful technique.

  • Hanxing woke from a nightmare, and Firefly led him to Blade, who said Hanxing had slept for more than ten system hours and needed to train for an important mission.
  • Blade challenged Hanxing to spar with the Shuhu Sword, and Hanxing wounded him with sword qi before Blade’s attacks overwhelmed him.
  • Blade stabbed Hanxing through the heart and continued striking his body while Kafka and Firefly worried about stopping Blade’s Mara-Struck state.
  • Hanxing’s corpse glowed blue and reassembled, revealing a star in each of his blue pupils as he called the Blade of Ending back to his hand.
  • Hanxing resumed the fight, dodged Blade’s attack, and unleashed “Prison of Fiery Eyes: Forbidden Thrust.”

Ch. 3Curing Entropy Loss Syndrome

Hanxing discovered that his sword and blue-eyed power could restore his memories and heal him, then learned that Firefly suffered from Entropy Loss Syndrome. He used Star Eyes to cure her, but collapsed from the effort.

  • Hanxing ended Blade’s illusion and explained that his sword energy was Dimensional Rift and his blue-eyed power could heal or resurrect him.
  • Hanxing and Kafka concluded that regaining his combat techniques might help restore his memories, and Kafka postponed their mission until the next day.
  • Firefly told Hanxing that she was the last known survivor of the Glamoth Iron Cavalry and that her Sam armor delayed Entropy Loss Syndrome.
  • Hanxing asked Firefly to remove her armor and used Star Eyes to make her illness symptoms disappear.
  • Hanxing began bleeding from his eyes and passed out while Firefly caught him.

Ch. 4Preparations for Landing on Jarilo-VI

Hanxing prepared to travel to Jarilo-VI to retrieve its unstable Stellaron, learning how to use his phone and discovering another ability of his saber. After receiving supplies and a request from Kafka to protect a gray-haired man if necessary, he opened a gate to the frozen planet.

  • Kafka told Hanxing to retrieve the out-of-control Stellaron on Jarilo-VI and explained that information about the world was in his phone.
  • Silver Wolf taught Hanxing to use his phone and accidentally revealed that the saber could open spatial gates; Hanxing warned her not to handle it again.
  • Hanxing confirmed that Firefly had recovered and exchanged flirtatious remarks with her before preparing to depart.
  • Kafka gave Hanxing local currency, warned him not to disrupt life on Jarilo-VI, and asked him to protect a gray-haired man if the situation became critical.
  • Silver Wolf attached a Synesthesia Beacon to Hanxing, who opened a spatial gate onto a snowy plain and set off for Jarilo-VI.

Ch. 5Landing on Jarilo-VI

Hanxing arrived on Jarilo-VI, bought information from Sampo, and checked into the Goethe Grand Hotel before heading toward the Underworld. Meanwhile, Caelus, March 7th, Seele, and Bronya traveled to the Great Mine to investigate a conflict between miners and vagrants.

  • Hanxing met Sampo, who sold him information about the Astral Express Crew and Jarilo-VI, along with a mask, for fifty thousand Shields.
  • Hanxing followed the crew's location to the Goethe Grand Hotel and spent another fifty thousand Shields on a five-day stay.
  • Hanxing realized Sampo had swindled him and that his remaining five hundred Shields might not cover a meal, so he resolved to act quickly.
  • Seele explained that Fragmentum damage had displaced vagrants into the Great Mine and that a recent large-scale conflict threatened the Underworld's Geomarrow supply.
  • Caelus, March 7th, Seele, and Bronya argued over the situation and Bronya's fate, then proceeded together toward the Great Mine.

Ch. 6A strange attempt at persuasion

Hanxing watched the Astral Express Crew and learned more about the people accompanying them while Silver Wolf fed him information. Sampo persuaded him not to interfere when Caelus was hurt, but Hanxing’s decision was interrupted by Svarog’s confrontation with Seele and Wildfire.

  • Hanxing and Silver Wolf identified Dan Heng, March 7th, Caelus, Seele, Bronya, and Natasha near the mine.
  • Sampo appeared and threatened to expose Hanxing’s connection to the Stellaron Hunters unless he stopped interfering with the Astral Express Crew, especially when Caelus was hurt.
  • Sampo promised thirty thousand Shields and explained that Caelus would receive the gaze of Preservation after Cocolia stabbed him, prompting Hanxing to agree not to intervene.
  • Sampo departed after warning Hanxing that the universe faced a crisis, and Silver Wolf agreed that protecting Caelus was Kafka’s personal wish rather than part of the script.
  • Hanxing saw Svarog confronting Seele and Wildfire, then ordering force against them while Clara listened.

Ch. 7They Couldn't Be Neighbors, Could They?

After Seele’s group defeated a powerful robot, Oleg pointed them toward Svarog as they continued their search for the Stellaron. Hanxing considered ways to obtain it without clashing with the Astral Express Crew and discovered they were heading to the same hotel he had booked.

  • Seele’s group defeated a robot, and she explained that Svarog’s forces were too powerful for Wildfire to challenge.
  • Oleg joined the Astral Express Crew and identified Svarog as the person they should pursue.
  • Hanxing discussed with Silver Wolf how the Astral Express Crew’s search for the Stellaron could bring them into conflict with him.
  • Hanxing decided to try negotiation or resolve the planet’s crisis himself, while keeping Silver Wolf’s idea of stealing the Stellaron as a fallback.
  • Hanxing learned the Astral Express Crew was going to the Goethe Grand Hotel, where he had already booked a room, and opened a portal back there.

Ch. 8Joining the Astral Express Crew

Hanxing, disguised as the Galaxy Ranger Mangfeng, persuaded Bronya and Caelus to let him join them by offering information about Caelus’s past. During a late-night walk, they learned that Seele and Natasha needed medical supplies for the injured and agreed to help retrieve them from Rivet Town.

  • Hanxing, posing as Mangfeng, told Bronya and Caelus he wanted to join their journey, and Caelus accepted after Hanxing hinted that he knew about Caelus’s past.
  • Bronya and Caelus went for a walk with Hanxing, and Bronya shared her concerns about balancing justice with compassion for the Underworld’s vagrants.
  • The group overheard Seele tell Natasha she planned to travel to Rivet Town for supplies because the clinic was nearly out of medicine.
  • Natasha explained that Fragmentum had devastated other towns, while Seele warned that gathering supplies would be dangerous.
  • Hanxing, Bronya, and Caelus volunteered to accompany Seele, and Natasha agreed to prepare a list of needed supplies.

Ch. 9Heading to Rivet Town

Seele led Bronya, Caelus, and Hanxing through Rivet Town to find supplies, where they discovered Eric had hidden them after avoiding the Fragmentum Monsters. After Hanxing paid Eric to return the supplies, the group prepared to sort through them.

  • Seele showed the group Natasha's old orphanage and other places from her childhood as they made their way through Rivet Town.
  • Hanxing defeated Fragmentum Monsters blocking the route and later cleared another group near the marketplace.
  • Bronya noticed fresh footprints, and the group followed them to Eric, who had hidden the supplies.
  • Seele scolded Eric for coming alone and stealing, while Bronya told her to stop when Eric began to cry.
  • Hanxing gave Eric a thousand Shields in exchange for the supplies and a promise not to steal again; Eric explained Rivet Town's situation and left.
  • Hanxing suggested that the group sort through the supplies.

Ch. 10Bronya's Origins

Seele, Bronya, and Hanxing searched the orphanage for medical alcohol and found a childhood keepsake that restored Bronya’s memories. Bronya realized she had been born in the Underworld before the Architects chose her as the Supreme Guardian’s successor, and Hanxing left her with words of encouragement as Seele stayed behind to talk with her.

  • Seele led the group to the orphanage, where Hanxing defeated a powerful Fragmentum Creature blocking their way.
  • Bronya recognized the orphanage and its play facilities, though Seele doubted she could have visited the Underworld as a child.
  • Seele found a box of preserved medical alcohol, and Bronya discovered a glass ball that belonged to her when she was little.
  • Bronya remembered that she had lived in the Underworld before the Architects chose her and Lady Cocolia adopted her as the next Guardian.
  • Hanxing suggested that Bronya follow her own path and encouraged her to be herself before leaving Seele and Bronya alone to talk.

Ch. 11An inadvertent confession

Hanxing asked Silver Wolf what Firefly liked and brought her cakes, including an Oak Cake Roll. As they shared the desserts, Hanxing accidentally confessed his feelings, and Firefly said she liked him too.

  • Hanxing asked Silver Wolf to add Caelus's contact information and then asked what Firefly liked.
  • Silver Wolf teased Hanxing before telling him Firefly liked desserts, so he bought an Oak Cake Roll and a cream fruit cake.
  • Hanxing visited Firefly on the ship and gave her the cakes, and they discussed how Entropy Loss Syndrome may have affected her taste.
  • Firefly took bites of Hanxing's cream cake while he tried the Oak Cake Roll again.
  • Hanxing gazed at Firefly and inadvertently confessed that he liked her, and Firefly replied that she liked him too.

Ch. 12Setting Out for the Mechanical Settlement

Hanxing joined Caelus, March 7th, Dan Heng, Bronya, and Seele as Wildfire agreed to help them approach Svarog and find the Stellaron. The group set out for the Mechanical Settlement with Sampo as their guide, while Hanxing promised to join them if trouble arose.

  • Hanxing opened a portal from the Underworld and met up with Caelus and the others.
  • Oleg agreed to work with the group, identifying Svarog as their shared target and explaining that his robot forces made a direct assault dangerous.
  • Bronya pledged to defend the Underworld, and Oleg sent Seele to accompany the group while Wildfire waited nearby.
  • Hanxing said he would stay out of the fight unless circumstances changed.
  • Hook appeared as the expected guide, but Sampo offered to lead the group through the Mechanical Settlement instead.
  • The group followed Sampo toward the Mechanical Settlement.

Ch. 13A Chance Encounter with Clara

Hanxing fought Fragmentum Monsters in Rivet Town, rescued Clara, and asked her to lead him to Svarog. Clara warned him that Svarog would not be swayed by human feelings, while Hanxing suggested that his arrival might change Svarog’s calculations.

  • At the Mechanical Settlement gate, Sampo explained that the group had to pass a robot’s trial to gain access to Svarog, and the robot began quizzing them about an obscure rap tournament.
  • While Caelus and the others faced the robot’s question, Hanxing fought Fragmentum Monsters in Rivet Town and defeated a Blaze Out of Space using his saber and clones.
  • Hanxing found a damaged robot mentioning Clara, then used a spatial portal to reach a workshop where Clara was in danger from a Blaze Out of Space.
  • Hanxing’s clone destroyed the monster, and Hanxing checked that Clara was safe before learning she had come to repair the foundation’s power supply unit.
  • Hanxing told Clara he needed to meet Svarog face-to-face and demanded that she take him there, but Clara refused because she feared someone would get hurt.
  • Clara explained that Svarog trusted calculations over human feelings and believed the surface was nearing its end, so Hanxing asked whether he could be a variable in Svarog’s calculations.

Ch. 14Negotiating with Svarog

Hanxing persuaded Clara to bring the Astral Express crew to Svarog, while Caelus and Dan Heng repaired the Mechanical Settlement’s power supply. Svarog refused to trust them after they revealed they sought the Stellaron, and the chapter ended as he activated extermination protocol and prepared to fight.

  • Hanxing told Clara that he and the others were new variables outside Svarog’s calculations, and Clara agreed to arrange a meeting with Svarog.
  • Clara asked Hanxing to help repair the settlement’s power supply, and Dan Heng and Caelus fixed its misaligned bearing.
  • Clara brought Hanxing, the Astral Express crew, Seele, and Bronya through the gate to meet Svarog.
  • Caelus told Svarog that the group wanted to find the Stellaron and end the disaster, but Svarog classified them as a maximum threat.
  • Svarog suspended his peacekeeping protocol and summoned mechanical hands to exterminate the group as Clara pleaded with him to stop.

Ch. 15A fierce battle with Svarog

Hanxing and the others defeated Svarog, but Clara persuaded him to let them access his Stellaron records. After restoring Svarog, Hanxing went to wait at the entrance between the upper and lower districts, where he collapsed asleep from exhaustion.

  • Svarog targeted Hanxing, but Hanxing and the group counterattacked, damaging Svarog until his cooling system failed.
  • Clara stepped between Svarog and Hanxing and asked everyone to stop fighting, leading Svarog to grant the outsiders access to his Stellaron information.
  • Bronya told Caelus to uncover the truth, and Caelus accessed Svarog's encrypted database files as the others listened.
  • Hanxing told the group he would wait at the surface entrance, then used his Star Eyes to restore Svarog.
  • Hanxing opened a spatial portal to the entrance between the upper and lower districts, then fell asleep against a wall from exhaustion.

Ch. 16Entering the Overworld

Hanxing and the others reached the surface and sought help from Serval, who believed their account and explained what she knew about the Stellaron. As they prepared to travel to its location in the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone, Serval remembered her brother was coming and told them to hide.

  • Hanxing woke after sleeping through the night, and the group emerged from the Underworld without Sampo, who had disappeared.
  • Dan Heng led the group to Serval's workshop, where they told her about the Underworld and gave her Bronya's letter.
  • Serval believed them, revealed that she had once researched the Stellaron, and answered their questions.
  • Serval said a scan had placed the Stellaron in the snowfields north of Belobog and warned that the area was covered by Fragmentum and guarded by the Silvermane Guards.
  • As the group prepared to leave, Serval remembered her brother was coming and hurriedly told them to hide.

Ch. 17Entering the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone

Hanxing found a strange dagger inside his personal spatial space while the group prepared to enter the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone. Serval got them inside, but after crossing the bridge and meeting Gepard, Hanxing appeared and unleashed an attack as the confrontation escalated.

  • Hanxing entered an enclosed space through the spatial gate, pulled a patterned dagger from a box, and returned to the main room without explaining where he had been.
  • Serval used her connection to Gepard to persuade the gate guard Franz to give the group a temporary visitor pass into the restricted zone.
  • The group reached the bridge, received Hanxing's message that he had restored power and triggered the alarm, defeated a robot, and activated the bridge controls.
  • Serval led the group toward the front line and asked them to go easy on Gepard if they had to fight him.
  • Gepard confronted Serval and accused her of bringing criminals into the fortress, while she argued that Cocolia was blocking their effort to stop the Eternal Freeze and seal the Fragmentum.
  • Hanxing appeared during Gepard's argument and shouted, "Fire-Eye Prison: Soup Cooking!"

Ch. 18Entering the Fragmentum

Hanxing helped the group pass through the restricted-zone gate, then stayed behind to hold off the Fragmentum Monsters while the Astral Express crew entered the corrupted maze. Inside, they found traces of Bronya and followed Fragmentum afterimages of her and Cocolia, while Hanxing appeared near the real pair and waited for them.

  • Hanxing used his illusion technique to control Gepard and guide the group through the restricted-zone gate.
  • After the group fought off the first wave of Fragmentum Monsters, Serval stayed behind with Hanxing while Caelus, Dan Heng, March 7th, and Seele went on.
  • Hanxing created dozens of clones to face the incoming monsters as the Astral Express crew departed.
  • Himeko and Welt discussed the growing Fragmentum activity aboard the train, and Welt remained uneasy about the crew's safety.
  • Serval led the crew through the Fragmentum maze, where they found an object belonging to Bronya and followed her and Cocolia's afterimages.
  • Hanxing emerged from a red portal near the real Cocolia and Bronya and decided to wait for the crew there.

Ch. 19The Battle with Cocolia

Cocolia revealed her purpose for bringing Bronya to the mountain and summoned the Engine of Creation, forcing the Astral Express Crew to fight. After Himeko helped damage the machine, Caelus confronted Cocolia, and Hanxing isolated them both in a domain for the real battle.

  • Seele urged Bronya to reject Cocolia and return with her and the Astral Express Crew.
  • Bronya thanked Cocolia for raising her but refused to stand by her, and Cocolia summoned the Engine of Creation.
  • Hanxing opened a spatial gate and hid as the Engine of Creation attacked the group.
  • Himeko fired on the Engine of Creation from orbit, giving the others a chance to fight back.
  • Caelus reached Cocolia, who entered another form and wounded him with an ice spear.
  • Hanxing teleported atop the Engine of Creation, cast a domain that separated Caelus and Cocolia from everyone else, and announced that the real battle was beginning.

Ch. 20I'm the storm that is approaching! (manual doge)

Hanxing defeated Cocolia, took the Stellaron, and revealed that he had never intended to seal it with Caelus. After returning to the Stellaron Hunters, he went to the Overworld with Firefly and the others, where he checked out of the Goethe Grand Hotel and joined the group at a clothing store.

  • Hanxing fought Cocolia with Caelus's help, defeated her, and took the Stellaron.
  • Hanxing knocked Caelus unconscious, escaped with Cocolia through a spatial portal, and returned to the Stellaron Hunters with the Stellaron.
  • Silver Wolf told Hanxing to keep the Stellaron because Elio said it would be useful, then asked what he would name his fighting combo.
  • Hanxing learned that Blade had gone to the Xianzhou and that a prophecy involved him and Firefly, then joined the group in the Overworld.
  • Hanxing gave Firefly a padded coat and joked about her being his girlfriend, though she said she had not agreed to be his boyfriend.
  • Hanxing checked out of the Goethe Grand Hotel, received a refund of forty thousand Shields, and opened a portal to meet the others at a clothing store.

Ch. 21The Stellaron Hunters' team building

Hanxing celebrated completing his first mission with the Stellaron Hunters after shopping with them, while Caelus and his companions discussed the Hunters and their failed attempt to seal the Stellaron. The gathering ended with Hanxing and Firefly sharing a tender moment, and Hanxing secretly brought Cocolia back to life and imprisoned her.

  • Kafka and Firefly picked out clothes, and Hanxing paid for them after Kafka realized she had forgotten to exchange her money.
  • Caelus woke in the Underworld clinic, learned about the Stellaron Hunters, and worried that the crew had failed to seal the Stellaron.
  • Hanxing bought cakes with Firefly and the others, then returned to his room and used Star Eyes to restore Cocolia before trapping her with Prison of Fiery Eyes: Forbidden Thrust.
  • Hanxing brought the cake to a celebration for completing his first mission, where he and Firefly shared a sweet moment as Kafka and Silver Wolf teased them.
  • Kafka revealed that the black cat was Elio, and the group later retired for the night as the Astral Express and the Stellaron Hunters' spaceship shone above Belobog.

Ch. 22King of Games

Hanxing and Firefly returned to the spaceship to make good on their promise to spar with Silver Wolf in her game. Their strongest attacks crashed the computer, leaving Silver Wolf lamenting the damage.

  • Caelus told Hanxing and Firefly that March 7th would represent the Astral Express Crew at the Wardance and offered them another spot; Hanxing agreed to compete.
  • Hanxing and Firefly were pulled back to the spaceship, where Silver Wolf reminded them they had promised to spar with her.
  • Hanxing, Firefly, and Silver Wolf entered a pixelated game space and transformed to fight.
  • Silver Wolf created a second account to battle Hanxing and Firefly, but they held their ground against her attacks.
  • Hanxing and Firefly joined their strongest attacks against Silver Wolf's light wave, and the collision crashed the computer.

Ch. 23The Wrong Destination

Hanxing and Firefly attempted to travel to Edo Star to obtain a Stellaron, but Hanxing’s blade lost its power and sent them to the wrong destination. They discovered they were on Fansha Star, leaving them stranded in Wind Erosion Town.

  • Hanxing and Firefly met Kafka, who told them their mission was to obtain a Stellaron on Edo Star and that Blade was imprisoned on the Xianzhou Luofu.
  • Hanxing opened a spatial portal with Firefly, but Silver Wolf and Kafka soon lost contact with them and suspected their location was wrong.
  • Hanxing and Firefly landed in a vast desert, where his blade’s red glow had vanished and he could no longer open a portal.
  • Firefly activated her armor, carried Hanxing through the sky, and brought him to Wind Erosion Town.
  • A man tried to take advantage of Firefly, so she revealed her armor and killed him after learning they were on Fansha Star, not Edo Star.

Ch. 24The Kangbu Revolutionary Army

Hanxing and Firefly fought off soldiers from the Kangbu Revolutionary Army before learning about Fansha Star’s curse and its conflict between Order and Harmony. After Yan Bai revealed knowledge of the Aeons, Hanxing and Firefly suspected he was a visitor from beyond the world as he returned to headquarters.

  • Hanxing and Firefly fought the Kangbu Revolutionary Army soldiers, then stopped when Yan Bai ordered a ceasefire.
  • Yan Bai identified the pair as outsiders and explained that Fansha Star’s curse prevented followers of paths other than Order and Harmony from arising and blocked contact with the outside world.
  • Hanxing explained that the Aeons of Order, Trailblaze, and Beauty had fallen, and Yan Bai learned that Xipe had absorbed Ena.
  • Yan Bai sent Hanxing and Firefly to headquarters with Han Chuan while the army continued its effort to take Wind Erosion Town.
  • Han Chuan explained the conflict between the North Wind Government and the Kangbu Revolutionary Army, and Firefly asked about a Stellaron.
  • Hanxing and Firefly suspected Yan Bai was also an outsider after noticing that he knew about Destruction, and they heard him return to headquarters.

Ch. 25Kafka's Invitation

Yan Bai explained how he knew about the Path of Destruction, then invited Hanxing and Firefly to tour the Kangbu Revolutionary Army’s newly captured Wind Erosion Town. Meanwhile, Kafka appeared aboard the Astral Express and asked the crew to change their destination to the Luofu.

  • Hanxing questioned Yan Bai about how he knew of Destruction, and Yan Bai said his Harmony blessing let him see other people’s Paths but that he knew nothing about Destruction.
  • Yan Bai reported that the army had taken Wind Erosion Town with little resistance and identified Night Return Port as its next target.
  • Yan Bai showed Hanxing and Firefly Wind Erosion Town, where the army was dividing land among civilians, and offered to pay for their lodging.
  • Kafka interrupted a meeting aboard the Astral Express and asked the crew to change their destination.
  • Himeko rejected Kafka’s request and demanded that she hand Hanxing over, but Kafka said the Stellaron Hunters would not betray him and did not know where he was.
  • Kafka asked the crew whether they had heard of the Luofu.
