Background / History

Sasuke initially operates as a Konoha shinobi alongside Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi. During their confrontation with Momochi Zabuza, he and Sakura protect the mission target Raditz. 11

He bears a Cursed Seal acquired after encountering Orochimaru in the forest. Its second outbreak releases evil chakra and requires Naruto to restrain him with Wood Release while Kakashi adds another seal to suppress further incidents. 29

Sasuke's hatred of his brother Itachi defines much of his early conduct. He attacks Itachi upon their reunion but is repeatedly repelled, leaving him frustrated by his own weakness. 51 His need for strength drives him to seek the Giant Snake and consider using the Cursed Seal again. 55 56
