Background
Wu Di arrived in the Naruto world from elsewhere and initially remained almost entirely within his small scratch-off shop. He built the Invincible Scratch-off Shop into a major attraction whose prizes, customers, and unusual effects changed village life. His business success made him extremely wealthy: he possessed 200 million ryo by the time he met Ayame’s father, exceeded one billion ryo later, and planned to pursue even larger revenue targets. 93 148 185
Wu Di pursued Ayame of Ichiraku Ramen, confessing his feelings and sending her a cart of roses. Ayame accepted his confession, and Ichiraku ultimately approved their relationship. 136 137 They later had a child, Wu Ma; Wu Di confirmed his biological connection to the child and became notably protective as a father. 227 249
Personality
Wu Di is commercially minded, opportunistic, and often ruthless in business. He proposes toll booths, charges entrance or exit fees, exploits lending opportunities, and motivates workers with scratch-off rewards. 148 149 173 187 284
Despite his greed and frequent manipulation of customers, he is attached to Konoha and protective of those close to him. He resists leaving his protected territory or engaging in unnecessary violence, preferring to preserve his shop and family life. 88 238 269
He can be petty and intimidating when insulted, challenged, or inconvenienced. However, he also shows strategic political judgment, advising Tsunade to aid other villages so that Konoha can secure lasting influence after the war. 144 200 313
