No one dared to voice any objections at this time.
The guild was silent for a few seconds, then erupted in a cacophony of cheers even louder than when the fireworks went off the night before.
Macao and Wakaba slammed their fists on the table at the same time, Cana raised her glass, declaring that this was worth at least three barrels of liquor. Natsu, though not fully understanding what "hostess" meant, still jumped onto the bench and shouted in celebration.
"Shut up, all of you!"
Mira unleashed a ball of black magic. The people at the front immediately scattered, covering their heads, Natsu took the magic as a challenge, his fists igniting with flames.
" Mira, let's have a match!"
"Why did you come to this conclusion?" Gray asked.
"Because she looked especially energetic today!"
The moment Natsu lunged forward, a hand pressed down on his face from the side. Lin Yuan pushed him back into his chair and extinguished the fire on his fist.
"The president is still calculating the losses from last night."
Makarov glanced down at the ledger, then at the cracks on the wall that Mira had just blown up, and his hand holding the pen began to tremble.
"You can celebrate all you want, but if you dare to damage even one more table today, the repair cost will be deducted from everyone's wages!"
Order was restored to the hall instantly.
Erza stepped out of the crowd, her gaze shifting between the two men, her cheeks flushing.
"Are you really... lovers?"
Mira grinned mischievously. "Why are you stuttering? Haven't you ever thought about something like this?"
"It has nothing to do with me!" Erza straightened up. "Well, since it was your joint decision, I should... I should wish you well."
"I never expected to hear something like that from you." Mira leaned closer to her. "But why are you blushing? Even an armored woman can be shy?"
"I'm not shy!"
"Even the voice has changed."
Erza's face flushed even more, and she gripped the hilt of her sword. " Mira, do you want to fight?"
You were the one who started this trouble!
Their foreheads almost collided. The guild members, who had just quieted down, skillfully picked up the barrels and plates and retreated to the edge of the hall.
Lin Yuan stood aside, not interfering.
Lisanna came to his side and asked softly, "Brother Lin Yuan, aren't you going to try to persuade my sister?"
They didn't use True Magic.
"It will be too late by the time they use True Magic."
Lin Yuan thought this made a lot of sense. He was about to step forward when Mira suddenly stopped arguing with Erza, turned around and grabbed his wrist.
"They're gone."
Where to go?
Come to my house for dinner tonight.
After she finished speaking, she walked out of the guild, giving Lin Yuan no chance to refuse.
Lisanna waved to their retreating figures. "Sister, remember to buy plenty of groceries!"
Mira paused for a moment, then pulled Lin Yuan along, walking even faster.
In the evening, for the first time, four people sat at the Strauss family's dining table.
Elfman sat ramrod straight from the moment Lin Yuan entered, his expression even more serious than when he was on a mission. He tried to speak several times, but Lisanna nudged him back with her elbow.
Mira placed the last plate of stew on the table. "What's with that look on your face all this time?"
"I was just thinking, now that my sister has suddenly become the mistress of someone else's house, shouldn't she say something more manly?"
If you can't think of it, don't say it.
"Sister, we should let brother finish what he has to say at a time like this," Lisanna said with a smile.
He's been thinking about it the whole way, but he still hasn't come up with a single answer.
Elfman lowered his head and silently stuffed a large piece of bread into his mouth.
After swallowing the bread, he finally mustered up the courage to speak, " Lin Yuan, my sister has a terrible temper, she hits really hard, and sometimes she's completely unreasonable."
The fork in Mira's hand slowly bent.
" Elfman, what exactly are you trying to say?"
"But she's worked harder than anyone else these past two years to wait for you to come back." Elfman, enduring his sister's gaze, forced himself to continue, "So you absolutely can't let her wait alone anymore. If you bully her, even if I can't beat you now, I'll definitely settle the score with you in the future. That's what a real man should say!"
The dining table fell silent.
Lin Yuan replied earnestly, "I won't let her wait alone. If you've done anything wrong, you can come to me anytime."
"Who needs the two of you to decide for me?" Mira slammed her bent fork on the table, her ears already red. "And Elfman, before you think about settling scores with anyone, figure out how to beat Natsu first."
I will definitely do it!
Lisanna rested her chin on her hand and looked at the three of them. "Isn't this better? From now on, there will just be one more person in the family."
Mira didn't argue, but simply put the largest piece of stewed meat into Lin Yuan's bowl.
Lin Yuan picked up the bowl and tasted the stewed meat. It tasted better than he expected, but there was a bit too much pepper.
Mira sat opposite her and casually asked, "How was it?"
"It's delicious."
"It's just delicious?"
Lin Yuan took another bite. "I want to eat this again."
Mira nodded in satisfaction. "You know how to talk."
Lisanna was lying on the table, laughing nonstop. Mira, realizing what was happening, flicked her forehead.
After dinner, Lin Yuan took the initiative to clear the table. Mira didn't stop him, but stood at the kitchen door and told him where each plate should be placed. Only after he washed the last cup did she follow him outside.
The streetlights in Magnolia were all lit. The two stood side by side in front of the door, neither of them leaving immediately.
Mira gripped the keys at her waist. "You've been to your own house and mine today. From now on, no matter where you leave from, you must tell me before you go."
"I remember."
"It's best if you really remember."
She released the key, turned and walked back to the door, then turned back as if suddenly remembering something.
"Come over for dinner tomorrow too."
"Good."
Mira smiled and then pushed open the door to go home.
