Upon returning to the guild, Lin Yuan first received a bill.

The costs include riverbank restoration, the two sections of stone steps that were cracked by the earthquake, the re-erected warning signs, and an undetermined cost for clearing the rock face.

Makarov spread the bill on the table.

Do you have any objections?

That rock face was originally unusable.

Therefore, only a cleaning fee will be charged.

"The ditches in the riverbed can drain water."

"You'll get a second bill when the rain washes away the bridge downstream."

Lin Yuan remained silent.

Natsu peeked over from the side and immediately burst out laughing, "So much money!"

"One of the stone steps was cracked by your roar."

Makarov picked up his pen and added a line.

Natsu's laughter stopped abruptly.

Mira, leaning over the other side of the table, took the last Frost Chestnut with great satisfaction. "You can team up and move stones to pay off your debt."

Lin Yuan put away the bill and turned to walk towards the task board on the first floor.

The newly posted Toby those before I left.

One card depicted the slaying of a swamp crocodile, another the search for a missing magical train, and yet another from the western Red Stone Canyon. Lin Yuan peeled off the third card and read it line by line.

The only suspension bridge in the canyon has been occupied by a flock of Iron-Feathered Vulture, and three trucks have already been destroyed. The task is to drive away or eliminate the vultures while saving the bridge that spans the canyon. If the bridge cannot be reopened before winter, ore from nearby mining towns will have to be transported by a detour for half a month.

The reward is 350,000 J.

Attached to the document was a feather rubbing. The edges were jagged, and the longest feather was nearly the length of an adult's arm.

Mira had caught up with them without them noticing.

"Didn't you just come back from the north?"

"It's warmer in the west."

I wasn't asking about the weather.

Lin Yuan handed her the request. " The Iron-Feathered Vulture can fly, and there must be more than twenty of them. The bridge must not be damaged, and the Roar skill cannot be used."

Mira understood after reading it.

The Zero-Distance Crushing Fist was powerful enough, but Lin Yuan had to lock onto his target first. The flying magical beast kept changing its altitude and direction, and there was no place around for him to land repeatedly, making it exactly the kind of enemy he was least adept at dealing with.

"You want to take on a commission to develop new True Magic?"

"Complete the mission first, then consider new True Magic."

That makes more sense.

Mira flipped the commission over and wrote down the names in the "accompanying members" section.

"I can fly. If you can only stand on the bridge and watch this time, give me extra money from your payment."

Hearing this from downstairs, Makarov looked up and shouted, "I can take the job! Leave tomorrow!"

"Why?" Mira asked.

"Let's go move stones on the riverbank today!"

The next afternoon, the two arrived at Red Stone Canyon.

There was no snow on the Frozen Rock Mountain, but the wind was stronger. Hundreds of meters apart, the red rock walls on both sides spanned a suspension bridge across the deep valley. The bridge surface was torn in large cracks, and several railings were broken.

Only a sliver of darkness remained at the bottom of the valley, and the sound of falling pebbles lingered for a long time without echoing. The bridge cables tightened continuously in the wind, emitting a low hum similar to that of a bowstring.

The client was a bridge keeper. He led the two men into a stone hut at the bridgehead and pointed to a dark figure on the opposite rock face.

"There are usually only a few during the day, and they all return before sunset. Their feathers can deflect arrows and ordinary True Magic, and they can even crush rocks when they swoop down."

"Where is the nest?" Lin Yuan asked.

"The cliff top. We can't climb up, and there's no way out."

Mira stepped out of the stone house and looked up at the sky. Dark red magic rose from behind her shoulders, and demon wings suddenly unfurled.

The dark shadows on the rock face moved simultaneously.

Seven Iron-Feathered Vulture left their roost and circled above the canyon. They did not attack immediately, but instead used the updrafts to fly higher and higher, quickly dispersing in different directions.

Mira flapped its wings and took off.

The Iron-Feathered Vulture at the forefront folded its wings and swooped down like a black arrow. She dodged to the side, grabbed one of its sharp claws, and slammed the entire beast into the rock wall.

The other two bypassed her and rushed straight towards Lin Yuan on the bridge.

Lin Yuan raised his right hand and aimed his Zero-Distance Crushing Fist at one of them.

Just as the spatial fold locked onto its target, the Iron-Feathered Vulture suddenly flipped over. Dozens of stiff feathers detached from its wings and shot towards the bridge surface from three directions.

Lin Yuan changed his punching style, shattering the feather blades in front, while the two on the sides were driven into the wooden planks. The entire suspension bridge shook violently as a result.

A second Iron-Feathered Vulture had already swept over his head.

His punches were fast and heavy.

You can only catch one at a time.

More than a dozen dark figures rose up from the opposite bank, blocking out the sunlight above the canyon.

Mira kicked away an Iron-Feathered Vulture in mid-air and looked back at the bridge.

" Lin Yuan!"

"I saw it."

"If they can't fly, we'll bring them down!"
