The establishment of New Faith signified the retreat of Old Faith.
Although the Old Faith still has a fighting chance for the time being, its final collapse is already inevitable in the face of the New Faith, which has no desire to rule, no right to rule, no oppression, no ignorant faith, and only love and light.
If the Old Faith can completely eradicate the New Faith from beginning to end in a short period of time, then there is still a possibility of a comeback.
However, the Old Faith no longer has the resources to seize the territory controlled by Norton in order to eliminate the New Faith, so the rise of the New Faith is inevitable and a fait accompli.
"But... what if the New Faith, which I personally nurtured, replaces the Old Faith and becomes my new enemy?"
Norton stood by the palace window, his pale, slender fingers gently tapping the windowsill, his dark eyes overlooking the vast imperial city of the Boya Empire.
Even though he had already reached the highest Supreme, he felt as if he were stuck in a quagmire.
"A high vantage point offers a panoramic view, but it also makes one a target of criticism!" Norton's dark eyes narrowed slightly, deeply feeling the weight of the pressure he was under.
As a Vampire, a classic creature of the dark side, his very existence is instinctively labeled as such.
During this period of time, although he outwardly controlled the Boya Empire and the Blood Court and appeared to be supreme and noble, in reality, there were countless people who wanted to assassinate him, replace him, or conquer him.
Two uprisings have already occurred within the Boya Empire. The rebels both raised the banner of eliminating Vampire and restoring the orthodoxy of humanity, regarding Norton as their greatest imaginary enemy and using this as a pretext to wage war against him. Moreover, most of them could rally thousands of followers with a single command.
Even within the Blood Court, where he had long been indebted, some humans secretly began forming a so-called ' Human Orthodoxy Society,' gathering daily with great fanfare to utter reactionary remarks that could get them beheaded if they got out. They even tucked their own agendas into their various literary works, trying to incite a wave of anti- Norton sentiment among the humans within the Blood Court...
This reality almost made Norton feel disoriented; he nearly thought he had returned to modern society.
The human uprising within the Boya Empire did indeed anger Norton, but the ulterior motives of the humans within the Blood Court chilled Norton to the bone.
"Unless I become that high and mighty god... leaving no room for resistance, if I, Norton, become Vampire, I will be Vampire for life, forever subject to conquest. No matter how heavy the oppression, or how deep the gratitude, there will always be a constant stream of so-called warriors wanting to conquer me... Human hearts cannot be trusted, and human nature cannot be gambled on. I, Norton, must lay the groundwork completely to elevate myself to the altar, making me a true god whom they can only fear, tremble with, and speculate about!"
Norton's slender, pale body turned away from the window and sat down at the desk beside it.
As he moved, fragments of his skin fell off in a flurry, only to be caught and eaten by bats hanging from the ceiling, thus preventing any flesh from spilling out.
Norton, his tall, pale frame seated behind the wooden table, then extended his pale fingers and picked up the banknotes on the table.
" New Faith needs a central theme; the doctrines of the Old Faith are no longer valid. Everything I, Norton, am doing now is to fabricate history and bury the truth about the existence of Vampire in the old era. Therefore, Kuba must be concealed, and I, Norton, will be thrust out... As for Abraham, he'll take the blame!"
Norton showed no remorse for taking the blame for Abraham.
If Abraham was disloyal, then taking the blame for Norton was his just deserts.
If Abraham was loyal, then taking the blame for Norton was a blessing from the Lord!
Norton, feeling perfectly justified, began fabricating history and scribbling away.
"The New Testament: God said, 'Let there be light,' and the sun appeared. God said, 'Let there be time,' and the universe was born. God said, 'It is too lonely,' and life began."
Life is born, yet knows no ethics. The Garden of Eden flourishes, yet lacks the principles of life and death.
Thus, Norton was born.
Norton was born with knowledge, conveying the origins of life, praising the eternal principles, receiving the flame of life, and bestowing a glimmer of light upon humanity.
Thus, humanity developed intelligence, ate cooked food, learned ethics, and understood social order...
"The Betrayal ": Norton climbed day and night, teaching the principles of morality. His actions were great, his suffering was arduous, and his deeds were appreciated by God. He was granted eternal bliss in Heaven.
His disciple Abraham, upon hearing of the eternal Heaven, was consumed by envy. He launched a night raid on Norton, thousands of miles away, and killed him in the sky.
His soul lamented to God, but his body remained lost; Abraham stole Norton's fire, yet could not enter the eternal Heaven.
"The Blood Pact: A god travels through Heaven and hears the sound of mournful sobbing. Norton's soul laments and receives divine light."
Its soul is God, its flesh and blood are Withering Death.
All things procreate, yet there is no death. The Garden of Eden expanded ever greater, so God created death, hanging high in the sky. God became the Lord, in charge of the origin of life, and of Withering Death its end, governing the withering of all living things. Only Abraham disliked this and was exiled by God. To avoid death, Abraham eternally hid from the sun...
"Awesome!" Norton wrote with increasing fervor and vigor, feeling as if he were divinely inspired, managing to conceal the so-called God, Shenyin, Jonah, and Kuba.
Abraham was the only one he singled out and wrote a special chapter about, in order to highlight his status as the Blood Clan Progenitor.
However, the way it erases the names of the three gods— God, Shenyin, Jonah, and Kuba —seems somewhat insulting.
But Norton isn't afraid!
Just as the old pope said, in this world, the less knowledgeable and less experienced a person is, the more they believe in the existence of God. On the contrary, the higher the level and the more knowledgeable a person is, the more disdainful they are of Church books, considering them nothing more than a means of keeping the people ignorant.
Although Norton believed in the existence of God, his increasing arrogance and better life over the years undoubtedly prove that the death of God as recorded in Church books should be an established fact.
Since God is dead, his little insult is nothing.
After all, his eldest son Shenyin the one who hung Him on the cross and baked Him in the sun; compared to that, Norton's insults were nothing but a fart.
Besides, even if they didn't die, so what?
If he's really not dead, then I'll just crush Norton with a flick of my wrist! If God really isn't dead, then Norton doesn't want to live either.
After all, in this world, the gap in Existence Level is truly despair-inducing!
Norton has completely abandoned any talk of the existence of God.
