The newly built Pale Holy See is located in Sak City, where the Pale God of the past once resided in this remote town, yet he awed the entire Garden of Eden with his supreme power.
However, a closer look at this Pale Holy See reveals a retro vibe.
Its style is actually modeled after the architectural style of the Holy Lord Empire in the mythical era, and even its internal layout is exactly the same as the Holy Lord Cathedral in the Holy Lord City.
The Pale Holy See has been shaped into this state entirely by the instructions of Pale God.
Norton seemed to find a sense of belonging only inside the church where he had lived in fear for twenty years since childhood.
It has to be said, this Biyang really seems to have some kind of mental illness.
The Pale Holy See, known as the ' Holy Lord Cathedral,' was utterly silent.
Although priests wearing hooded white robes could be seen walking around inside, heads bowed, everything was orderly, and no one was talking in hushed tones.
All the priests were forbidden from raising their heads, speaking freely, going out at will, or even being released individually. The strict controls within this Pale Holy See were virtually identical to those of the former Holy Lord Cathedral.
Even the God worshipped in the main hall at this time was not that Pale God, but the real God Caesar worshipped by the Holy Lord Church.
Even the books he read were replaced by Norton with the Bible and even the Holy Covenant, which Norton had previously read.
But that's still nothing.
Compared to the Pale God who was now curled up on the bed in the cabin, releasing his energy, everything outside seemed less magical.
"Call..."
A slightly somber sigh echoed from the most secluded part of the monastery, in a simple wooden hut made of planks, seemingly filled with a sense of melancholy.
This is where the monks live in the monastery. Each person has a wooden hut of less than six square meters. After just a small bed and a small table, there is no room for anything else.
Peeking through the crack in the door, one could see that the once lofty, holy, and majestic Pale God Norton now resembled a lowly missionary, huddled on a dilapidated bed in a small cabin. From behind, his elbows were still twitching, but his pale, slender body was curled up so tightly that it was difficult to discern what he was truly doing.
There are widespread rumors that this Pale God is suffering from a severe mental illness, and this is not a rumor, but the truth.
Even Norton himself realized the abnormality in his thinking, and that he was far more extreme than before.
This was even more true after he passed through the soul vessel.
He has lost his former sense of security and also found that he has lost his former sense of belonging, which is why he is here now.
It is understandable that they would lose their sense of belonging, miss the past, and even build Holy Lord Cathedral like the one they are building now, and lie in a small wooden hut inside.
After all, this was the epicenter of his early psychological trauma, so it's understandable that he has special feelings about this scene.
However, the psychological drawback of losing a sense of security is puzzling.
"Creak... creak... creak..." The wooden plank shook, and then a few leaves were thrown under the bed.
A long-lost sense of familiarity washed over him, almost bringing tears to Norton's eyes as he lay on the wooden bed.
In a state of enlightenment, all sorts of thoughts converged in Norton's mind.
In this familiar setting and in this familiar state, he was able to recall his former naive self and his past panicked desire to survive.
He only wanted to live, he only wanted to live from beginning to end, so why has he become the root of chaos in the Southern Continent? Why has he become the Pale God that everyone in the Southern Continent fears most?
Norton rolled over, tucked his arm under his head, and lay quietly on his side on the dry bed.
His mind was in turmoil, with scenes from the past flashing through his mind and intertwining with his current actions, making it difficult for him to see through his own heart.
Norton is a bad man who is unaware of his own evil. He is purely evil, thoroughly evil.
However, he didn't think he was a bad person, and he felt that all his actions had their reasons.
However, the connection between his memories of the old era and his current behavior has made him realize that he was truly wicked, and that he had really lost his former humanity and moral compass.
But it's really not my fault!
Norton lay on his side, looking rather weak, and even revealing a hint of grievance.
"In the past, the purpose of the tyranny in the Southern Continent was to destroy the Papal State, so that I could have a chance to survive."
The cholera epidemic in the Southern Continent is also a struggle for survival, a fight against Jonah, who may soon appear in the sun, and a flight from the control of the God who created everything.
Even so, that seemingly trap-like vessel for the soul still exists; I just want to survive!
Norton recalled the soul vessel he had acquired some time ago and the slightly fearful premonition he had that day, and his unease grew even stronger.
This caused him to curl up, lying quietly on the hard, dry bed, searching for that feeling of insignificance he once had in the Holy Lord Cathedral.
Only in this way could he hypnotize himself into believing that he was not the most conspicuous Pale God in the Garden of Eden, but a small monastery priest, thus bringing him a sense of relaxation.
This is also why he built this monastery and why he lies here.
In layman's terms, he stood too high, so high that he touched that unreachable summit.
In the past, when there was no trace of God and Jonah, he could deceive himself into believing that the emperor was far away and thus indulge in pleasure.
Now, as he suspects that the soul vessel is a trap set by Jonah or even God, he suddenly discovers that the world has begun to be manipulated by another god, and he feels the same fear as before.
The lurking divine punishment seemed poised to strike at any moment, and although Norton's flesh and blood were invincible, both Jonah and God could now attack his cowardly soul. This instilled in him a fear of having a gun pointed at his head, ready to fire at any instant.
But he was powerless to stop it, and didn't even know how to fight against it.
If it were simply that, it wouldn't be so bad. After all, he had experienced the era of Kuba and was familiar with the feeling of fleeing for his life in a panic.
But precisely when he was experiencing this soul vessel, the slightest reverie filled him with immense fear.
Was God's strategy for him already underway?
Everything was created by God, so isn't that just like Norton's own flesh and blood? And how much blood has Norton drunk and how much food has he eaten throughout history? Doesn't that mean he was assimilated by God from the very beginning?
And now that this Garden of Eden resembles Earth, isn't that evidence that he has already been assimilated?
Being assimilated by God did not frighten him, nor did being tricked by Jonah. The real reason for his insecurity was the feeling that no matter how hard he struggled, he could not escape.
He ascended to the highest realm, Pale God, yet he remains trapped in a quagmire, unable to extricate himself. This sense of powerlessness is the root cause of his current insecurity!
He even suspected that everything about him was a script, a pre-written script that completely integrated him into God's consciousness, so that he could become the cause of God's change!
"Waaaaah... Before I became the Pale God, I lived in constant fear, terrified that I wouldn't live to see the day come. Now that I've become the Pale God, I'm still afraid, still living to see the day come. Does that mean all my efforts have been in vain?"
Norton curled up on the cold wooden bed, his slender, pure white body lying there, looking as pathetic as an orphan no one cared about.
Even his body trembled slightly, whether from the lingering pleasure or from the trembling of inner fear, it was hard to tell.
