"President, is everything all right at school?"
Yunyi waited until Mayumi Saegusa had sat down and eaten something before asking.
Mayumi Saegusa shook her head. "It's fine for me to leave for a little while. I'll hurry back after I take these two home."
"Actually, couldn't you have someone from your family come pick them up?" Yunyi asked, puzzled.
"Those two ditched the guards the family assigned to them. If I don't take them home and Father finds out, he'll definitely scold them," Mayumi Saegusa said quietly.
Hearing her explanation, Yunyi looked helplessly at the two little girls across from him, who had shrunk in on themselves like quails.
"Anyway, I'm glad nothing happened," Yunyi said.
"Bang!"
But the moment he finished speaking, a piercing sound suddenly came from the floor-to-ceiling window beside him.
Yunyi immediately turned and saw a bullet lodged in the window beside him! Judging by its design, it was likely a high-velocity bullet specifically made to counter Magic Sequences!
"Quick! Get away from the window!"
Without stopping to think, Yunyi hurriedly put his arms around Mayumi Saegusa and pulled her away from the window!
Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa, sitting across from them, were also startled by what had happened, but their bodies moved the moment Yunyi spoke.
Before they could get far, a succession of bullets struck the window. Judging by the frequency of the impacts, they probably weren't coming from a high-rate-of-fire gun, but rather a sniper rifle!
Mayumi Saegusa took the twins by the hand and tried to head straight for the elevator and leave, but Yunyi suddenly stopped them.
Just as Mayumi Saegusa turned to look at him in confusion, a rapid burst of gunfire came from the direction of the elevator!
Yunyi pulled the three Saegusa sisters toward a corner of the restaurant. It was the only place in the restaurant out of sight.
The sudden attack had frightened the Saegusa twins, but it hadn't deprived Mayumi Saegusa of her wits. Though she had reached her judgment a little slower than Yunyi, she agreed with what he had done.
Once the four reached the corner, Yunyi immediately asked, "Is this attack aimed at you?"
Mayumi Saegusa shook her head gently. "I don't know! Kasumi and Izumi probably came here on a whim, and me coming over was even more unexpected. Could it be a coincidence?"
Yunyi thought for a moment, then shook his head and dismissed the idea.
From where the first bullet had struck, he could tell that the attackers were definitely targeting their group of four. If they weren't after the three members of the Saegusa Family, that left only him!
Yunyi was sure he had left no clues since coming to Japan. Even if someone resented him for getting into First High School through the back door, they probably wouldn't resort to such drastic measures. That left only one possibility: a faction within the Union wanted to take him out while he was alone in Japan, so they could secure more benefits for their faction!
"Those bastards!" Yunyi cursed without restraint.
Hearing that, Mayumi Saegusa immediately understood. These people were after him!
But what did Yunyi have that was worth these people resorting to such measures? Or was he hiding some secret himself!?
If the situation hadn't been so unsuitable, Mayumi Saegusa would have wanted to question him thoroughly.
"President, stay here and protect those two. I'll deal with the enemy. This spot is out of sight from outside, so bullets fired from outside can't hit you. I'll draw away the enemies inside. If you get a chance, take Kasumi and Izumi and leave, understood?"
"No, it's too dangerous. I won't let you take that risk alone!" Mayumi Saegusa immediately objected.
"Mayumi Saegusa!" Yunyi called her by her full name in a stern voice, making her body tremble. The bearing Yunyi gave off at that moment was not something an ordinary high school student could possess.

The attackers quickly caught sight of Yunyi. The moment one of them spotted him, he shouted for his companions to open fire!
When it came to racing bullets, Yunyi didn't think he was that crazy. Nor could he concentrate Decomposition magic in his palm to show off like Tatsuya Shiba! Besides, he didn't want to reveal his strength in front of Mayumi Saegusa!
"Stop!"
At Yunyi's command, everyone who had opened fire stopped shooting!
By then, Yunyi had charged right up to them. He struck with heavy punches and easily took them down!
But there were more attackers than just these few, and they were carrying heavy weapons. They showed no regard for the other customers in the restaurant and used them without hesitation the moment Yunyi appeared.
Seeing the iron pineapple flying toward him, Yunyi's pupils narrowed slightly! He darted over to a nearby table, grabbed the knife and fork on it, and hurled them at the iron pineapple. At the same time, he leaped backward, putting as much distance between them as he could.
"Boom!"
The deafening blast made Yunyi's eardrums ache. But that was the extent of the damage the grenade did to him.
The next attack, however, was even more dangerous than the grenade.
Three traces of magic sequences taking shape appeared around Yunyi. He pushed off the floor and hurriedly jumped aside.
After dodging the attack, Yunyi immediately began searching for the casters. When he found them, he couldn't help cursing again.
He could now be certain that these people were definitely after him. The man who had just called for his companions to shoot hadn't spoken Japanese! Moreover, the casters were hiding in a spot beyond the reach of the magic he had commonly used in the past!
The enemy's assault grew fiercer, and gunshots rang out constantly through the restaurant on the top floor.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, a startled cry reached his ears.
Yunyi hurriedly turned and saw Mayumi Saegusa casting magic, shooting hailstones through two attackers!
"Fuck!"
Yunyi cursed, then hurried back to Mayumi Saegusa's side under cover.
A quick glance showed that the three of them were unhurt. But a bullet was lodged in the wall of the corner where they were hiding!
