Background / History
The Machine Race was among the forces that pursued Kruun and the Star Race for their tribal treasure. Under Seg's pursuit, Machine Race space fortresses devastated Kruun's homeworld with a simultaneous cannon barrage; Kruun's tribe was later annihilated, while he escaped through a Divine Kingdom channel and was hunted into Dark Space. 111
The pursuit eventually reached the Milky Way by accident after spatial turbulence forced Kruun and the pursuing Machine Race into a wormhole. Their communications were initially blocked by the barrier around the galaxy, but they eventually devised a way to transmit information outward before Kruun killed the personnel involved. The Heretics later acquired related intelligence and sent Earth's precise coordinates to the Machine Race. 161
Seg's interest in Kruun's legacy and the Heart of Origin drove multiple attempts against Earth. His limited standing within the race restricted the forces he could mobilize, but Machine Race ships still launched an invasion near Huaxia's Capital City Base. Earth ultimately repelled the attackers, and Lin Mo later eliminated several of Seg's agents, including Jeff and Sereno. 162 225 228 232
Physiology & Appearance
Machine Race members are metallic life forms rather than biological organisms. Observed members have silver-metal bodies, mechanical eyes, and an emotionless, cold presentation; their vital energy cores are commonly located in the chest. 227 262
- Their cores can continuously evolve, strengthening the individual without the conventional body-refinement path used by humans. 116 175
- A destroyed member's remaining core energy immediately loses half its power, reducing its value as a cultivation resource. 283
- Ordinary Machine Race members lack biological bodies and Psychic Master abilities, making treasures or techniques requiring mental power inaccessible to them. 261 284
- Their physique is considered the weakest among the four major races at the same realm; their principal advantage is technology and invention. 418
- Seg was an exceptional case: through the Reincarnation Pearl, he began transforming his metallic body into flesh and gained Psychic Master abilities. 294 295
Capabilities & Technology
Energy-Core Evolution
The Machine Race advances by evolving its energy core. A member's core level also determines the output of fortress-mounted weapons, tying individual cultivation directly to military technology. 116
- The Heart of Origin provides a greater enhancement to Machine Race members than to humans, making it a major motive behind Seg's campaign against Kruun. 175
- Machine Race members can absorb Origin Crystals to evolve their cores. 283
- The race's Heart of Energy enabled large-scale member production; its seizure by the Human Race crippled that capability. 418
Dimensional Warfare
Rather than relying solely on personal bodies, the Machine Race employs advanced dimensional technology, spaceships, mechs, energy weapons, and fortress-scale armaments. 116 175
- Space Fortresses — Large warships capable of firing thousands of high-output cannon beams at once; their bombardment pierced an entire planet during the attack on Kruun's tribe. 111
- Super Energy Spotlight Cannons — Fortress weapons whose strength scales with their owner's core level. 116
- Energy weapons — Their forces use weapons ranging from B-grade energy-gathering guns to A-class armaments capable of threatening peak Domain Lords. 273 283
- Sacrifice Refining Tower — A Machine Race creation used by affiliated races; its customized trials include mech-equipped beasts. 175
- Adaptive armor — Machine Race-derived cosmic armor can alter its appearance, self-adjust to the wearer, and clean itself automatically. 183
Infiltration and Concealment
Some Machine Race specialists possess concealment or transformation functions.
- Seloxi could disguise himself and transform his form despite being a peak Cosmic-level expert. 234
- Francis and George used invisibility while tailing Lin Mo in the Primal Void, though Lin Mo's Mental Power detected them. 332 334
- Their lack of mental power prevents them from sensing mental-power-exclusive treasures, such as the components of the Destiny Puppet. 284
Organization and Conduct
The Machine Race has no rogue cultivators; its members operate through formal factions and legions. 261
Its culture is portrayed as calculating, cold-blooded, and strongly hierarchical. Members judge situations through calculation and show absolute obedience toward superiors, but many will surrender when survival becomes impossible. 228 370
- Machine Race forces have repeatedly treated allies and subordinates as expendable during campaigns against Lin Mo. 369 370
- Their leaders avoid full-scale war when other major races could exploit the conflict, even while maintaining kill orders and assassination campaigns. 343 344
- Individual members may cooperate temporarily with the Demon Race when both sides share a target, particularly Lin Mo or Yan. 347 385 395
Notable Members
- Seg — Sailuo Lie's disciple and the figure responsible for pursuing Kruun's inheritance. He sought the Heart of Origin to complete his Reincarnation Pearl-based transformation into a perfect biological life form; Lin Mo killed his Machine Race clone. 294 295
- Sailuo Lie — Peak Venerable Realm expert and Seg's master. He issued a race-wide assassination mission against Lin Mo, offering Origin Fire as the reward. 341 370
- Kachir — Commander of a Machine Race force at the Myriad Poison Forest. He ordered the attack on Lin Mo and was later killed by him. 262 263
- Seloxi — Peak Cosmic-level operative dispatched by Seg to recover Kruun's Heart of Eternity from Earth; Lonke killed him and his subordinates. 234 249
- Kailido — Machine Race King-level Immortal who sought to target Lin Mo on the Cosmic Battlefield after the Human Race's King-level Immortals blocked an earlier attempt. 343 344
- Bahxi — The Machine Race's God Lord and strongest known figure, at the Half-step God King Realm. He later ordered surviving forces to hide after Lin Mo's forces devastated their Cosmic Battlefield army. 402
Relationships
- Human Race — Primary hostile rival. Their conflict includes the destruction of the Star Race, repeated invasions and assassination attempts against Lin Mo, and the Human Race's later assault on Machine Race territory. 111 342 418
- Star Race — A Human Race branch targeted by Seg's forces after Kruun acquired valuable treasures; the Star Race was annihilated during the conflict. 113 248 254
- Demon Race — Usually rivals, but frequent temporary allies against shared threats such as Lin Mo and Yan. 347 385 395
- Insect Race — Ordinarily boycotted alongside the Human and Demon Races because of its destructive nature, though Machine Race leadership later attempted to use the Insect Race in a plot against Yan. 257 396
- Heretics — Earth-based collaborators who reached an agreement with the Machine Race and transmitted Earth's location. 161
