Personality

Long Xingyu is stern, impatient, and often curt. Yang Haoyu warns Huo Yuhao that he has a bad temper but is not a bad person. During their journey, he allows few breaks and becomes more accepting of Huo Yuhao only after the boy proves capable of keeping pace without complaining 10 11 12.

His initial concern for Huo Yuhao's safety contrasts with his later neglect of the training assignment. He first refuses to risk a seven-year-old's life in Demon Clan infiltration zones, yet his determination to find Bai Yue soon takes priority. After Huo Yuhao reaches the Holy City, Long Xingyu privately recognizes how little guidance he has provided and worries about Yang Haoyu discovering this 10 12 14.

His reunion with Bai Yue reveals a more emotional side: he cries and embraces her, then later watches Long Haochen from a distance with a pained expression. The elders guarding the ancient teleportation array separately describe him as narrow-minded and caution Huo Yuhao against following his example 15 34.

History

Divine Throne Trial and Emergence

Long Xingyu undergoes the Divine Throne of Doom and Slaughter's trial at Imperial Dragon Pass while Yang Haoyu investigates the northern storms surrounding Huo Yuhao's arrival. By the time he appears in person, he has completed the trial and spent years stabilizing his cultivation. Newly out of seclusion, he joins Long Tianyin and Yang Haoyu in observing Huo Yuhao's sword practice through a crystal ball 1 9.

Escorting Huo Yuhao

Yang Haoyu asks Long Xingyu to take Huo Yuhao away from the ice-rich environment of Imperial Dragon Pass, both to slow his excessive cultivation growth and to give him practical combat experience. Long Xingyu initially objects because the route crosses Demon Clan infiltration zones. He eventually agrees, provided Huo Yuhao obeys any order to retreat 10.

The pair ride south, covering more than six hundred li in two days. Long Xingyu orders Huo Yuhao to kill a level-four Forest Wolf; the boy instead discovers and defeats three. Impressed by the performance, Long Xingyu gives him a detailed map and tells him to continue toward the Holy City alone. He secretly follows for a time before leaving entirely 11 12 13.

Searching for Bai Yue

Although Long Xingyu cites reporting for duty in the Holy City as the reason for his journey, his private priority is finding his wife, Bai Yue. While handling routine Knight Temple affairs, he learns that she has been seen in Odin Town. He waits for Huo Yuhao's delayed arrival rather than immediately leaving, mindful of his obligations to Yang Haoyu 10 12 14.

After Huo Yuhao explains his combat-training detour, Long Xingyu decides to supervise the remainder of the assignment more personally. The following morning, he flies with him to Odin Town under the description of a mission to “find someone” 14.

Odin Town and Long Haochen

Outside Odin Town, Long Xingyu instructs Huo Yuhao to conceal his identity and train in the wilderness, preferably without entering town. He then finds Bai Yue and shares a tearful reunion with her. He repeatedly visits while her son, Long Haochen, is away, but leaves before the boy returns and watches him from nearby 15 16.

Long Xingyu enters the Odin Sub-Temple under another identity during Long Haochen's Squire assessment. He subsequently considers how to teach the boy cultivation; the narration describes Long Haochen as his “son by marriage.” He later personally takes Long Haochen up a mountain to cultivate 16 20 21.

Demon Attack and Haoyue City

When Long Haochen returns to town with news of demons, Long Xingyu rushes to the battlefield. The white-robed assassin and Cai'er leave before he arrives. After inspecting the lingering auras, he chooses not to pursue them and carries the apparently unconscious Huo Yuhao back to a cave 20.

Huo Yuhao recounts his battle against the demons but conceals his subsequent fight with the assassin. Long Xingyu accepts the explanation, praises his combat experience, and recommends a cultivation site near Haoyue City where a high-rank magical beast remains. Before Huo Yuhao leaves, he gives him ten thousand gold coins, which become the starting capital for his crafting business 20 21.
