| Creation Realm — Primordial Battle Body, fourth level | 20 25 | Reaches a body-refinement level normally requiring at least Seven Yuan Nirvana and comprehends the Three Heaven-Breaking Forms before entering Nirvana. |
| Peak of Fortune | 1 | His Heavenly Tyrant Body and Origin Energy allow him to kill Wang Yan in one blow despite Wang Yan’s high-grade Spirit Treasure. |
| Half-Step Nirvana | 11 | Identified at this level during his challenge against Ji Yanyun, a One Yuan Nirvana cultivator. |

| Seven Yuan Nirvana | 59 | Reaches Seven Yuan Nirvana; the absorbed power also rapidly nourishes his Mental Energy. |

| Life Profound Realm | 99 100 | Refines his accumulated power in Primordial Peak’s Pill River. Chooses Carry Mountains and Cross Seas, then stabilizes his cultivation while touring the Hall with Ying Huanhuan. |
Background
Xiang Yun was a novel enthusiast in his previous life. After working overtime, he was watching the Martial Universe anime on his way home when an encounter with the “Blue Rider” sent him to another world. He was reborn as a baby and adopted by Xiang Huang 1 100.
At five or six, books in his adoptive father’s home revealed that he lived in the Great Desolate Region of the Tianxuan Continent. After awakening the Heavenly Tyrant Body, he learned that Xiang Huang was a Primordial Hall peak master and met Hall Master Hong Wuji, confirming his suspicion that he had entered the world of Martial Universe 1 2.
His biological origins remain unresolved. Xiang Huang found him in a wilderness inhabited largely by vicious beasts, and extensive searches uncovered no family. Xiang Yun later considers whether his reborn body might have originated in the Great Thousand World, but this remains speculation 31 64 67.
Appearance
- Build: Tall and relatively slender, contrasting with the heavily muscular body refiners typical of the Primordial Hall. His unusual physique makes him taller than Ling Qingzhu despite being younger 7 8.
- Eyes: Described as tiger-like; purple light fills them during cultivation breakthroughs and realizations 1 39.
- Origin Energy: Characteristically purple, capable of forming vast clouds, fist imprints, and an ancestral-form phantom 26 44 71.
- Battle transformation: Combines a True Dragon Head, Torch Dragon Pupils, Phoenix Wings, Black Tortoise Back, Qilin Armor, Huashe Tail, White Tiger Claws, Kun Peng Feet, and a Great Dao Bell 14.
- Enlarged form: Initially grows to three zhang through the Qiankun Boundless Body; reaches five zhang after developing the Heavenly Battle Body 31 40.
Personality
Xiang Yun is openly domineering and treats strength as the foundation of authority. He earns obedience within the Primordial Hall by defeating senior disciples and directly challenges Ning Chen’s attempt to exclude him from its faction dispute. Nevertheless, his interest in combat is not simply defensive: he welcomes strong opponents as opportunities to improve and refuses to investigate every unusual talent out of fear of future competition 7 26 49.
His boldness is supported by calculation. He understands that a marriage alliance with Ling Qingzhu would threaten the Yuan Sect, uses privileged knowledge to negotiate with the Dao Sect, and pushes three major sects toward collective resistance. He also recognizes the danger of overconfidence and seeks stronger sparring partners to establish his actual limits 6 31 32 64 82.
He is teasing and provocative with those close to him, but notably less imposing at home. Returning to the Primordial Hall, he behaves like a child greeting familiar elders rather than the overwhelming figure seen by outsiders. His uncertainty about his birth family also exposes a loneliness that Ling Qingzhu notices 21 63 67.
Abilities & Skills
Heavenly Tyrant Body
His foundational combat physique supplies extraordinary physical power and the Tyrant Body Nine Forms. The forms are inherited human achievements derived from generations of Tyrant Bodies battling powerful beings—not evidence that Xiang Yun belongs to the demon race 2 29.
- Ancestral transformation: Manifests nine divine-beast and bell aspects together to enhance his combat capabilities 14 26.
- Battle Immortal Golden Body: His Nirvana transformation develops the Tyrant Body itself rather than merely adding an ordinary Nirvana Golden Body 14.
- Technique suppression: His blood and Qi repel the Desolate Stone’s energy, while his fist’s tyrannical intent suppresses Ji Shan’s Origin Energy 10 55.
- Resource demand: Developing the physique requires immense quantities of energy; Xiang Yun later regards its earlier condition as undernourished 59 75.
Innate Tyrant Body Dao Embryo
The combination of the Heavenly Tyrant Body and Innate Dao Embryo grants exceptional comprehension and affinity with the Dao 6 39.
- Reconstructs the Eight Desolations Barbarian King Fist from observed weaknesses without knowing its exact Origin Energy circulation route 10.
- Improves the Supreme Induction Art into a version better suited to the Tianxuan Continent and transmits it to Ling Qingzhu 6.
- Adapts outside techniques and his own ancestral-form principles into arts usable by Tianxuan cultivators 43 66.
- Limit: Exceptional comprehension does not give him automatic mastery of unfamiliar systems; he initially lacks the Talisman Master knowledge needed to accelerate his totem research 30.
Great Devouring Technique
Chosen upon entering the Heavenly Yuan Realm, this technique lets Xiang Yun absorb and refine resources at a rate that supports his physique’s otherwise prohibitive needs 2 59.
- Black hole dantian: His Origin Pill becomes a miniature black hole after his Nirvana transformation 15.
- Energy consumption: Devours geomagnetic force, Desolate Energy, Nirvana Golden Qi, and Nirvana Demonic Flame 16 25 32 55.
- Simultaneous cultivation: Once he understands a refinement process, he can maintain absorption with only part of his attention 30.
- Limit: Absorption alone does not resolve every incompatibility; heavenly lightning and geomagnetic power initially repel each other violently during the Earth Yuan Sect trial 19.
World Tree
The World Tree supplies World Power and converts absorbed forces into nourishment for Xiang Yun’s cultivation. Its growth substantially reduces his dependence on conventional resource gathering 32 53 104.
- Qiankun cultivation: World Power can satisfy both the heavenly and earthly requirements of the Qiankun Battle Body 20.
- Yimo consumption: Its roots devour a fragment of Yimo power sealed within the Great Desolation Tablet 58.
- Demonic purification: World Tree-infused blood and roots remove demonic Qi from Zhou Tong, saving his life 97.
- Unity of Man and Tree: After fully uniting with it, Xiang Yun gains instinctive control and can extract memories as well as power from consumed targets 93.
- Spatial tracking: Records an unusual spatial fluctuation that he can subsequently sense 93.
Heavenly Tyrant Fist
Xiang Yun creates his signature fist art by reconstructing Ji Shan’s Eight Desolations Barbarian King Fist and combining it with his own understanding 10.
- Incorporates the Three Heaven-Breaking Forms: Earth Splitting, World Suppression, and Heaven Breaking 25 26 37 38.
- Combines body-refining arts, precious techniques, and devouring power into a single strike 37 38.
- Defeats Eight Yuan Nirvana cultivator Ning Chen in two punches while Xiang Yun is at Three Yuan Nirvana 27.
- Pins thousands of Dao Sect disciples to the ground; the diverted punch subsequently cracks their protective barrier 71.
Qiankun Battle Body and Heavenly Battle Body
The Earth Yuan Sect’s Qiankun Battle Body has eighteen levels, divided between nine earths and nine heavens, with a new divine ability every two levels 19 20.
| Divine Ability | Function |
|---|---|
| Heaven and Earth Scale | Covers his body with Heaven and Earth Space that receives attacks and allows them to be ground away 20. |
| Qiankun Boundless Body | Enlarges his body and increases physical and Origin Energy strength. Initially places severe pressure on his physique 31. |
| Heaven and Earth Furnace | Grinds down stored attacks with heaven-and-earth power and can use the resulting power to strengthen Heaven and Earth Scale 36. |
| Heavenly Battle Body | Places these powers and the Primordial Battle Body under the Heavenly Tyrant Body as enhancements, eliminating the earlier expansion strain 39 40. |
Precious Techniques and Strength Amplification
- Heavenly Horned Ant Precious Technique: Dramatically amplifies physical strength, allowing him to contest opponents above his cultivation realm 11 27.
- Kun Peng Precious Technique: Provides extreme speed and supplements his strongest combined punches 26 37 89.
- Heavenly Horn Heaven-Overturning Art: His Tianxuan-compatible adaptation grants roughly tenfold strength amplification and can stack with the Primordial Battle Body. It relies on comprehension rather than prolonged body tempering 43.
- Carry Mountains and Cross Seas: Chosen at the Life Profound breakthrough; allows his strength to continue increasing for as long as he can endure the burden 100.
Martial-Art Development and Knowledge
- Battle-art totems: Develops Divine Ability Marks that can be branded into skin, flesh, blood, and bones, then strengthened through combat and demon-blood tempering without changing the practitioner’s human bloodline 29 30 34.
- Great Desolation Scripture: Learns the importance of the Great Desolation Tablet’s approval and arranges for Ling Qingzhu and Ying Huanhuan to study the scripture 58 61 82.
- Spatial concealment: Creates a hidden spatial layer that confines Ying Huanhuan until he removes the barrier 77.
- Foreknowledge: Uses knowledge of the original story to identify Ying Huanhuan’s reincarnation, Zhou Tong’s survival, and the Yimo threat beneath the Great Desolation Tablet 1 64.
- Mental Energy limitation: His Mental Energy grows through external nourishment, but he has not condensed Symbol Seals because he lacks a suitable Seal Condensation Method 59.
