Su Chen smiled. "Come here."
Ye Lingxi nodded and went over to him.
Su Chen looked at Ye Lingxi and smiled. "Do you really want to cultivate immortality?"
Ye Lingxi nodded firmly. "Of course! I want to fly. Flying looks so cool, hehe."
Su Chen reached out and rubbed Ye Lingxi's little head. "All right, I'll teach you."
Ye Lingxi threw herself happily into Su Chen's arms. "Thanks, Brother! I knew you were the best!"
Su Chen looked dotingly at Ye Lingxi in his arms. "Do you know the first requirement for cultivating immortality?"
Ye Lingxi thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Nope."
Su Chen smiled. "It's body tempering! Body tempering means training your body to make it gradually stronger, from the outside in. Only when the muscles, tendons, and bones inside your body reach a certain level can you draw Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi into it!"
"If you draw Qi into your body without tempering it first, your body won't be able to withstand the energy contained in the Spiritual Qi, and you'll burst apart and die!"
Ye Lingxi turned pale, frightened by his words. "Th-then what do I do?"
Su Chen pinched Ye Lingxi's cheek and smiled. "Scared?"
Ye Lingxi nodded obediently.
Su Chen laughed, and a pill appeared in his hand out of thin air.
Ye Lingxi asked curiously, "What's that?"
Su Chen said, "This is a Body Tempering Pill. Once you take it, it can strengthen your body."
Ye Lingxi's eyes lit up. "Does that mean I can cultivate after I take this Body Tempering Pill?"
Su Chen nodded and handed her the pill. Then he pointed to an open patch of ground. "Go sit cross-legged over there, then take the pill."
Ye Lingxi nodded hurriedly and went to the open patch of ground. She sat down cross-legged and, without hesitation, swallowed the Body Tempering Pill in her hand.
As soon as the pill entered her mouth, it turned into wisps of cyan warmth that flowed throughout her body. Ye Lingxi's eight extraordinary meridians, every inch of her muscles, and every bone were nourished, as though she were lying in warm water.
Time ticked by, and black impurities began to seep from Ye Lingxi's body. A while later, she suddenly opened her eyes and looked excitedly at Su Chen. "Brother, how is it? Am I ready?"
Just then, her nose twitched, and she frowned. "What's that smell?"
She immediately looked down at her hands. They were covered in black impurities, and her pretty face paled in fright. "Ah! What is this? It's disgusting!"
Su Chen smiled. "Don't panic. Those are all harmful impurities from your body. It's fine. Go take a bath, then come back."
Before Su Chen even finished telling her, Ye Lingxi had already hurried into the loft.
It was just too disgusting!
Half an hour later, Ye Lingxi came out of the loft. She sniffed her arm and frowned.
She had scrubbed herself several times, but she still smelled!
Looking unhappy, she went over to Su Chen.
Su Chen smiled. "The smell will go away on its own after a while. Don't be unhappy."
Ye Lingxi nodded, but her face remained glum.
Su Chen shook his head and smiled helplessly. "Go sit cross-legged over there again. I'll teach you to cultivate immortality."
At the mention of cultivating immortality, Ye Lingxi immediately perked up and hurried back to sit on the open ground.
Su Chen smiled faintly. "That girl."
Then he looked at Ye Lingxi and said, "After body tempering comes Qi drawing! Drawing Qi means drawing in Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi! It's very difficult to sense Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi. Most people get stuck here and can't sense it even if they spend their entire lives trying."
Ye Lingxi asked worriedly, "Then can I sense it?"

Ye Lingxi nodded, then drew some Spiritual Qi from her Dantian and guided it to her right hand. She immediately felt her right hand fill with strength, as if she could kill an ox with one punch!
Ye Lingxi exclaimed, "Brother, I feel like my right hand has endless strength now!"
Su Chen smiled. "Come here."
Ye Lingxi hopped over to Su Chen, delighted.
Su Chen looked at Ye Lingxi. "I'll pass a sacred scripture on to you."
With that, he touched a finger to the spot between Ye Lingxi's brows.

A stream of information suddenly flooded into Ye Lingxi's mind.
