As Redding walked farther away, the skinny monkey Midgod watched his retreating figure and asked the scar-faced stallholder beside him, "Boss, what do we do?"
The scar-faced stallholder glared at him, the scar on his cheek twitching. "What do you think? We've got a juicy piece of meat right at our mouths. You think I'd let him get away?"
Scar raised a hand and made a slicing motion. "Go get the brothers. It's time to get to work!"
"Right, I'll go now." The skinny monkey Midgod turned to leave.
"Come back." The scar-faced stallholder called him back. "Tell the brothers to stay sharp and go all out. We're dealing with a tough one."
The skinny monkey Midgod nodded firmly. Redding had been able to produce five Midgod Sparks in one go, so he had to be a tough customer.
The skinny monkey Midgod left. The scarred Midgod glanced in the direction Redding had gone and muttered, "Hmph! No matter how tough you are, you're no tougher than me!"
After leaving the market, Redding didn't rush to leave the island. Instead, he first walked toward its edge.
Redding had seen through the scarred stallholder and the skinny monkey Midgod's act, but instead of exposing them, he had chosen to keep raising his offer.
For one thing, a few Midgod Sparks meant little to Redding now. For another, while the scarred stallholder coveted Redding's Midgod Sparks, Redding wanted the scar-faced man's Heaven and Earth Wonder just as much.
After wandering around the island for a while, Redding felt enough time had passed and flew out over the sea.
"Now let's see if the fish will bite." Full of anticipation, Redding flew away from the island at an unhurried pace.
Unlike when he had entered the island, no God Level expert stopped Redding from leaving. The sea breeze brushed his cheeks, carrying a salty, fishy smell to his nose.
Redding spread out his divine sense and frowned slightly. "They're still not here. Could they have lost me?"
He had deliberately revealed his wealth and wandered around the island for a while. If the scarred stallholder didn't come after him, all that preparation would have been wasted.
Redding slowed his flight again, and only then did his soul force sense several figures behind him.
Several thousand meters away, the scar-faced stallholder spat with a vicious grin and cursed, "This kid's pretty fast. We almost lost him. Brothers, pick up the pace and chase him down! Whoever kills him gets a Midgod Spark!"
Besides the skinny monkey Midgod, the scar-faced stallholder now had three other Midgods with him, five people in all.
At the scarred stallholder's words, the Midgods around him spread out and sped up one after another, moving to surround Redding.
Whoosh!
With a sharp rush of air, two figures appeared in front of Redding in an instant.
The other three Midgods followed close behind, blocking Redding's retreat.
After catching up to Redding, they spaced themselves out slightly and deftly cut off his escape routes.
With Redding surrounded, the scarred stallholder's anxiety finally eased, as if Redding and the Divine Sparks in his spatial ring were already in the stallholder's pocket.
Clearly, this wasn't Scar's first time murdering someone for their belongings. He and his men had surrounded Redding with practiced ease.
Redding's gaze lingered on the scarred stallholder's face for a moment. With a hint of confusion in his voice, he said, "Friend, why have you brought people to block my way? I don't intend to buy that wonder of yours anymore."
Seeing the puzzled look on Redding's face, the scarred stallholder burst out laughing. "Kid, hand over your spatial ring."
"Oh?"
Hearing Scar's words, Redding chuckled. "So you want to rob me."
"So what if I do?" The scar on the stallholder's face twitched like a centipede. "Five Midgod Sparks. You're pretty rich! If you know what's good for you, hand over everything in your spatial ring. Otherwise, prepare to fall here!"
Although Redding had been able to produce five Midgod Sparks, the scarred stallholder was certain he couldn't possibly fight five experts of the same level at once.
An ordinary Midgod would certainly fall under the combined assault of five experts of the same level.
Unfortunately for them, this time they had kicked an iron plate named Redding.
The scarred stallholder raised a hand and waved, signaling the Midgods beside him to attack.
The skinny monkey Midgod was the first to draw a long saber from his spatial ring, slashing at Redding from the front.
The other three Midgods also drew their divine weapons and attacked Redding.
A saber, a spear, and a sword sealed off Redding's left, right, and rear.
With the skinny monkey Midgod directly in front, the attacks came from four directions. An ordinary Midgod could only have stood there and waited for death, but they had encountered Redding.
Redding raised both hands and abruptly drew his palms forward. The skinny monkey Midgod, long saber in hand, felt an extraordinarily fierce force push him sideways.
The force knocked the tip of the skinny monkey Midgod's saber off course as it thrust toward Redding's face, sending it slashing toward the spear-wielding Midgod on the other side.
The saber and sword of the two Midgods on the other side collided, their attacks deflected by Redding in the same way.
"Useless!" Seeing his four subordinates in disarray, the scarred stallholder cursed in anger. Silver light flashed, and a dark ring-pommel saber from his spatial ring appeared in his hand.
Gripping the hilt, the scarred stallholder slashed heavily toward Redding while sending a Soul Transmission to the others. "All of you, go all out! If anyone dares slack off, I'll whip him to death when we get back!"
The skinny monkey Midgod and the other three Midgods felt bitter at the scarred stallholder's words.
It wasn't that they weren't trying. Redding was simply too powerful.
The scarred stallholder was ruthless not only when robbing other criminals, but also in disciplining the God Level experts under him. At the thought of his torturous methods, the four Midgods felt a chill run down their spines.
Under the scarred stallholder's threat, the four Midgods had yet to resume their attack when they heard a soft sigh. "Sigh, I was hoping to play with you a little longer..."
A sharp rush of air followed.
A flash of sword light passed before the skinny monkey Midgod's eyes. It was so fast that even he, a Wind Element Midgod, had no time to react.
Then the skinny monkey Midgod discovered that his head and body had parted ways.
A headless divine body in familiar clothes fell toward the ground before the skinny monkey Midgod's eyes.
Realizing that Redding had severed his divine body, the skinny monkey Midgod had no time to make his head fly after it before Redding's soul attack broke into his Soul Space.
An immense spiritual shock instantly scattered the soul within the skinny monkey Midgod's Divine Spark.
Having dealt with the skinny monkey Midgod, Redding curled a finger. Controlled by divine power, the long sword swept out again. With almost no resistance, the other three Midgods were dispatched by Redding in the same way.
Redding raised a hand and drew the four falling divine bodies toward him, then deftly stored them in his spatial ring.
The entire fight had taken less than five breaths.
"Clack, clack, clack."
The scarred stallholder's teeth chattered as he watched Redding easily cut down the four Midgods under him as if harvesting leeks.
Was this really a Midgod?
Forcing down his fear, the scarred stallholder put on a smile uglier than a crying face. "M-my lord, spare me. Didn't you want that wonder? I'll give it to you right now."
