"Oh, it's you, Bastille. The Elite Camp underwent reforms this year and is now training at sea. You all probably didn't know that."
Zephyr recognized this person as his former student, which shows that Zephyr extends throughout the entire Navy; almost every named and recognized Navy officer was trained by him.
"Is it a reform? Then these must be my junior brothers and sisters, right? Come on, come on, I want to give you a good welcome. Don't be in such a hurry to leave, Teacher Zephyr!" Bastille was very enthusiastic. He wasn't as old as Onigumo and the others, having only Elite Camp a few years earlier, and he still respected Zephyr a lot.
" Bastille, there's no need to trouble you too much. We can just stay on the island for one night. Your official duties are important," Zephyr declined, not wanting to trouble his disciple.
"No trouble at all. Since you've come all this way to my territory, you must let me show you some hospitality. Otherwise, if my fellow disciples find out, they'll say I don't respect my teacher. Take all the pirates to the prison and make sure nothing goes wrong," Bastiyu said to Zephyr, then gave instructions to the marines who followed behind.
Seeing that Bastille had gone this far, Zephyr didn't refuse outright anymore. As Kyle was being led away, he gave Vic a deep look, while the other pirates were shouting and yelling.
"This must be Junior Brother Vic. I've seen you in the newspapers several times. I didn't expect you to be so strong at such a young age. Let's spar later. I also use a knife!" Bastiyu said excitedly to Vic next to Zefa, and then waved a saw knife that was more than two meters long in his hand.
Vic was somewhat helpless. Bastille was an impatient person, and as soon as he saw Vic, he immediately spoke his mind.
Although Bastille uses a knife, he doesn't really have any kendo skills; at best, it's just an ordinary weapon he holds in his hand, much like a martial arts master being afraid of a kitchen knife.
"Even eighteen years later, you were defeated by Sabo in an instant. The gap between you now and now is still too big. I really don't want to bully you and make you lose face in front of your subordinates!" Vic sighed inwardly.
"Brigadier General Bastiiu, I'd better pass. Our sparring won't benefit either of us; we won't learn anything or improve our skills!" Vic advised softly.
"Yes, Bastille, the gap between you and Vic is too big now. You won't gain anything from sparring. If your subordinates see it, it will affect your prestige!" Zephyr interrupted Bastille as he was about to retort.
Bastille was somewhat convinced after hearing Zephyr's explanation. He was unaware of Vic's great battle with Akainu at headquarters, and the current Vic was different from the one he had seen in the newspapers.
"Brigadier General Bastiyu, how about I introduce you to someone for a sparring match? I guarantee you'll both benefit," Vik said, noticing Bastiyu's somewhat agitated mood.
"Oh, who is it?" Bastille's spirits immediately rose again when he heard that someone could spar with him.
"Rebecca, why don't you spar with Brigadier General Bastii later?" Vic said, turning to Rebecca beside him.
Bastille is not Devil Fruit User. Right now, he has probably only learned the Six Powers. If Awakening Haki, it should be within the next two years. He is an evenly matched opponent to Rebecca.
"What, a woman? Are you kidding me!" Bastille was immediately displeased when he saw that it was a young girl like Rebecca; it was clear he was a chauvinist.
Rebecca and Wendy, who were next to Vic, immediately got angry and glared at Bastille. This guy looked down on them, and Rebecca decided to teach him a lesson.
That's just how the world is; most people believe that women are inferior to men, except for Charlotte Linlin is exceptionally gifted.
"What's wrong? Are you scared?" Rebecca took a step forward, tilted her head, and said stiffly to Bastille.
The Elite Camp students all watched the spectacle with interest. They knew how strong Rebecca was. Although her opponent was a Commodore, they weren't sure if he could win against Rebecca. They didn't even consider who had trained Rebecca; her Observation Haki was incredibly strong, and coupled with her formidable swordsmanship, the outcome was only a 50/50 chance.
"Who wouldn't dare? I'm just afraid people will say I'm bullying a little girl, and it'll ruin my reputation!" Bastille retorted, sticking out his neck.
"Wouldn't it be even more embarrassing if you didn't dare to accept the challenge?" Rebecca continued to taunt.
Neither Zephyr nor Vic said anything. Zephyr also felt that Rebecca and Bastille were a match for each other, and that they could both learn something from sparring.
"Let's go then, let's see who's the best on the training field!"
Bastille was an impatient man, and when he heard Rebecca say that, he couldn't wait a moment longer.
To say he was afraid of a little girl would be incredibly embarrassing. He immediately turned and headed towards the training ground; the promised hospitality was nowhere to be seen.
The students laughed and joked, preparing to watch a good show. Zephyr was also somewhat helpless with his student. Couldn't he change this temper? He would suffer for it sooner or later.
Vic originally wanted Wendy to fight Bastille to see if she could Awakening her Observation Haki, but then he thought that Wendy's current strength was still a bit lacking, and such a battle was not suitable for her. It would be better to wait until she learned a few more of the Six Powers before trying.
Rebecca is different. With Vic's tutoring, her Six Powers are basically on the verge of breakthrough. With the slightest stimulation, she will definitely be able to break through.
The training ground wasn't far, just next to the Marine Base's perimeter wall. It was a relatively open area with a solid surface, worn smooth by the soldiers' daily footsteps, without a single weed.
Bastille and Rebecca walked directly to the center of the training field and stood separately.
Bastille still seemed somewhat dismissive, thinking that he might make a little girl cry and that he would probably have to coax her and beg her not to cry later.
Rebecca was a little angry at Bastille's disdain, and she decided to teach this faceless old man a lesson so he would know the consequences of looking down on her.
The trainees had already surrounded the training ground to find a good spot to watch the melon, making the training ground quite lively for a while.
"What's going on? Why is it so noisy at the training ground? Isn't training time long over?"
"It's Brigadier General Bastii there. Wasn't he off to receive prisoners? Is he going to fight someone here?"
"Let's go check it out too, so the Commodore doesn't get hurt."
"Let's go, everyone go and see, let's Commodore general and cheer him on."
The colonel-level officers at the base heard the noise from the training ground and decided to go and see what had happened.
More and more people gathered around the training ground to watch the show. Some of the people who had been with Bastille beforehand explained the whole story to them. They also learned that it wasn't a big deal; it was just that the Commodore general's junior brother and sister had come from headquarters, and the two in the arena were going to have a spar.
