" Rebecca, why are you all alone here? Where did the Barnett go?"
The fire was almost extinguished. Wendy, leading Ain and Frodeku, returned to the area and asked, somewhat puzzled, why Rebecca was the only one fighting.
Rebecca thrust her longsword straight at Kanbo's throat. Just before it struck, Kanbo blocked it with the blade, but was still knocked back several meters by the immense force. Rebecca didn't pursue, but instead pointed towards the round table.
"On that table."
After saying that, Rebecca ignored Wendy and vanished instantly. When she reappeared, she was already behind Kanbo. Without pausing, she swung her sword at the back of Kanbo's neck.
Rebecca is incredibly fierce when she enters full battle mode. She has no liking for pirates, and her attacks are all deadly, which Kanbo can only barely dodge each time.
This time was no different. He didn't have Observation Haki, but he sensed something was wrong with his strong combat awareness. He barely managed to dodge the sword at the cost of a lock of his hair.
Wendy was also taken aback by Rebecca's words, wondering how Barnett had managed to get himself onto the table.
She hurried to the table and saw a miniature Barnett struggling through a small Sand Dune. At that moment, she didn't see Desukurei on the opposite edge of the table.
"What's going on? Barnett is so cute being this small. Did he get Devil Fruit power?"
Wendy, for some unknown reason, curled her lips into a wicked smile, wanting to reach out and grab Barnett to play with him, but she too was blocked outside the table and unable to enter the tabletop space.
" Barnett, the enemy is over there, go and take him down!" Wendy was getting annoyed that she couldn't reach in. She looked around the table and quickly noticed the only oasis. There was a little figure on it drinking coconut juice and grinning lewdly at her.
Although Barnett couldn't hear Wendy's voice, he immediately noticed the huge figure that suddenly appeared and saw the direction Wendy was pointing.
The direction Rebecca pointed was the same as the direction he was heading, and he now understood that the changes here must have been the work of that pirate.
Staying here would be too passive; he'd be played to death sooner or later. He needed to take the initiative to break the deadlock. He disliked Desukurei intensely, which was why he chose him as his opponent—he wanted to eliminate him personally.
" Wendy, I want to see it too!"
Ain then came to Wendy's side, but because of her height, she couldn't see the table.
Hearing Ain's voice, Wendy calmed down and put aside her unrealistic thoughts. She bent down and picked Ain up, and only then did Ain see this miniature world.
"Wow, that's awesome! I want a toy like that too!" Ain looked at this realistic miniature world with great interest. There were even little figures that could move, just like playing house. It's hard for a child to refuse.
"This is Barnett, look closely!" Wendy said, somewhat amused and exasperated.
Thankfully, Barnett can't hear what's going on outside; otherwise, what kind of expression would he have if he knew he was being treated like a toy?
Desukurei could obviously hear the conversation outside. He sneered, snapped his fingers, and the Desktop World changed again: the desert became an ocean, and the oasis became an island.
Barnett was startled when he suddenly fell into the water. He was an ability user, after all. But after struggling for a while, he realized that he hadn't lost his strength and could still swim, which reassured him. He then swam towards the island.
Desukurei's Desktop World rules still can't escape the rules of this larger world; he can't evolve real seawater, otherwise the power of this fruit would be quite formidable.
Later, as Barnett traveled on, the Desktop World changed several times. There were blizzards that made Barnett shiver from the cold, and terrain made of rocks like sword mountains that left Barnett with nowhere to stand, leaving his hands and feet covered in cuts and bruises.
Fortunately, his own Devil Fruit ability could also heal his injuries, which made Wendy outside very worried, but made Ain very happy, and she started patting him on the shoulder.
The changes were nothing short of miraculous. Wendy looked at Wendy in her arms speechlessly, realizing that this was indeed a problem child, and Rebecca might be right.
Barnett was tormented by this Desktop World and vowed never to underestimate his enemies again. Devil Fruit abilities are truly unpredictable; who would have thought that a table could possess such infinite transformations? However, this also made him believe Vic's words more, and the Devil Fruit abilities Vic described seemed more likely to come true.
Although Frodeku appeared on the battlefield with Wendy, he didn't follow her to the table. He was currently watching the exciting duel between the swordsmen with the crowd.
Rebecca launched a fierce attack using the speed of the Six Powers of Shave. Kanbo looked to be in grave danger, but he always managed to react appropriately at the crucial moment. This reaction was something that Rebecca's Observation Haki could not predict; it was like a bodily instinct, without any discernible pattern.
This is an example of how instinct can overcome Observation Haki. For reactions that are not made by the brain but by bodily instinct, Observation Haki is powerless.
This is the same principle as King Luffy using instinct to deal with Enel's attacks; otherwise, their battle wouldn't have lasted this long.
"I know what caused your sudden speed!"
Kanbo seemed to mutter something to himself before suddenly disappearing from his spot. When he reappeared, he was already beside Rebecca, his blade slashing horizontally. Rebecca was only slightly surprised before raising her sword to block the longsword's advance. She couldn't dodge such an aggressive attack without the help of her Observation Haki to anticipate it.
"I didn't expect you to learn how to shave after just watching me demonstrate a few times. There are definitely many people like Vic in this world. You can't underestimate anyone!"
Rebecca sighed inwardly, but her movements didn't stop at all. She deflected Kanbo's longsword, spun around once, and the blue blade pierced straight into Kanbo's chest along the tangent of the circle. If it hit him, he would be pierced through.
Kanbo reacted quickly, using the Six Powers of Shave to maximize his speed and move away from Rebecca's side. Rebecca's blade only grazed a corner of his clothes.
But Rebecca was not disappointed; she too disappeared from the spot, and the two began a chase.
Rebecca decided to fight with speed, pushing her speed to the limit, while relying entirely on her body's spontaneous reactions to swordsmanship. She abandoned her Observation Haki and fought entirely on instinct. She didn't think she was inferior to Kanbo, but simply too young, inexperienced, and lacking in experience.
The battle between the two became even more dangerous. Wendy stopped paying attention to Barnett, who was still on his way, and started watching Rebecca's fight.
However, she discovered that Rebecca's fighting style was completely different from before. Before, it was like a fairy dancing with a sword, graceful but full of killing intent. Now, it was like a sword maniac. It looked chaotic at first glance, but upon closer inspection, she felt that every move was perfectly timed.
