"I don't care about my identity anymore. If I don't say it now, I'll die immediately. But if I do say it now, I might be able to evade pursuit and survive. Why shouldn't I take a gamble? Why choose to die here right now?"
What do we have left besides this life? We have no family or friends; we are the loneliest people in the world! I don't care if you want to die, I want to live!
The Lao Si's words were somewhat hysterical, clearly indicating that he did not accept his former identity; he simply had a very strong desire to survive. The Lao Si 'Lao Si words made Zero fall into deep thought, unable to refute his words.
"Listen up, everyone. We are members of the World Government's intelligence agency. I'm from CP4, and they are from CP3, CP9, and CP0."
We are under Zero's command on the island; he is nominally our boss. We are secretly dispatched to this country by the World Government's high command to carry out a mission, so your navy cannot touch us.
We and the Navy are both organizations under the World Government. We cannot kill each other. Now that you know this secret, leave here immediately and pretend nothing happened. This is the best choice for both of us!
After revealing his true identity, the Lao Si's words became much firmer. He clearly didn't think Vic and his group would kill them. After all, one was a henchman of the World Government, and the other was a hidden weapon in the World Government's hands. They were from the same root, and revealing their identities meant they wouldn't kill each other no matter what.
Hearing what the Lao Si said, Vic was shocked. Vic had always suspected that the Lao Si and his group were backed by a powerful Underworld organization, which might be related to a Celestial Dragons. He never expected that they were sent directly by the World Government!
The main problem is that Vic only heard the names of the Lao San and Lao Si. If he heard them referred to as Zero and the Lao Jiu, and made some connections, he might be able to guess who was behind them.
Zero and Lao Jiu never revealed their code names, and Lao San and Lao Si never called out their names in front of the group. Only Lao San and Lao Si seemed to be the titles of the third and fourth leaders of the gang, and there were also Big Brother and Second Brother above them, which matched Zero and Lao Jiu. Vic never made any connection to that.
Although Vic knew from reading comics in his previous life that the World Government had a dark side, and had also heard Pizarro talk about his country before, this time he experienced it firsthand and felt that detached attitude that disregarded life.
Rebecca and the others were even more bewildered. They had never even heard of these organizations. They had only been in the Navy for a short time and were still new recruits, so they had no way of accessing the kind of intelligence that only high-ranking officers knew.
However, they couldn't help but have doubts about the World Government. But soon, Vic used Secret Sound Transmission to tell them about these things and warned them not to make a fuss.
However, this information made them realize that they had stirred up a huge hornet's nest. If they insisted on rescuing the country, they would be going against the World Government. They would probably lose their navy and become wanted criminals!
If they didn't save them, they wouldn't be able to get over it. They never expected the World Government to do something so despicable; it completely shattered their worldview. Their minds were filled with countless thoughts, and they were somewhat lost in thought!
" Lao Si, shut up! Is this something you can just say?" Zero woke up from his reverie and found that Lao Si had already talked for a long time. He immediately wanted to get up and kill Fourth Lao Si. Lao Jiu didn't say anything, but he also wanted to get up and kill someone. He was the one who had recovered the longest.
"Stop them both! Don't you want to know the truth?"
The Lao Si was startled when he saw Zero and the Lao Jiu about to attack. He quickly took a step back and shouted. He was genuinely afraid of the two of them; their strength was far inferior to each other.
Vic gestured to Rebecca and Barnett. Rebecca immediately stepped forward and held Zero down, while Barnett held down Lao Jiu. Both of them were seriously injured and, although they could still lash out, they couldn't be fierce in front of the two unharmed individuals.
"CP0, 3, 4, 9? Never heard of such an organization. Does the World Government even have one? Who knows if you're just making this up? What's your purpose here?"
Vic was inwardly turbulent, but outwardly he pretended not to know. He wanted to know more information because he and the others were all ostensibly new recruits, and Vic believed that the Lao Si would be fooled.
"Of course it's true. We're an intelligence organization, we can't make this public. We operate in the shadows. You're still new recruits, it's normal that you don't know."
You'll understand once you've risen in rank. I'm telling the truth. Didn't you see they both wanted to kill me? That's the best evidence. You can also ask your instructor Zephyr, when you get back to the warship!"
Hearing Vic's words, the Lao Si became anxious again and quickly explained that although these new recruits were very strong, their current status was too low and they had never heard of their organization. Wouldn't that be a waste? If they were killed as fraudsters, wouldn't it be pointless? His life would still be in danger!
"Maybe. I'll ask Instructor Zephyr. I'll trust you for now. Tell me your purpose in coming to this country?" Vic continued acting.
"Our goal is to destroy this country and make its people suffer, because they don't pay the Heavenly Tribute or Affiliated Nation the World Government. That's why the higher-ups sent us. The plan was already drawn up by them. We're just the executors. It really has nothing to do with us!" the Lao Si said honestly, afraid that Vic would suspect him of lying and kill him.
"Is the World Government so intolerant of non- Affiliated Nation? So your plan is to plant flowers all over this place? Control the civilians? Turn this place into a tourist hotspot? Do you think that will destroy this country?"
Vic believed the World Government was capable of such actions, but he still didn't quite understand the details. Was spending so much time planting flowers and developing tourism on the island really just for the sake of enslaving people and controlling the island's civilians?
Was the money in the royal treasury truly earned? Or was it a gift from the World Government to lull the King into a false sense of security, to convince him that growing flowers was profitable, and then transform the entire island into a world of flowers? These things seem far-fetched, and for the World Government's resources, it's an overreaction.
"Of course, it's not just that. The king of this country is incredibly foolish. When we approached him, he only listened to us say that growing these Smoke Flower would make him more money than he could ever spend, and he agreed to give it a try."
He had no idea how powerful we were; the petals from Smoke Flower could be used to make narcotics, which were in high demand on the black market.
The leaves of the Smoke Flower are the tobacco used to make top-grade cigars, and they are all tributes provided to the Celestial Dragons. From each Smoke Flower plant, only a few leaves can be made into tobacco, which is far from enough to satisfy the Celestial Dragons ' appetites.
" The Celestial Dragons are incredibly wealthy, so the king here has made more money from us than the Celestial Dragons can ever imagine!" The Lao Si brother called this flower " Smoke Flower," and both the petals and leaves were in high demand and short supply, and were related to addiction, which indeed brought the Celestial Dragons into the picture.
" Lao Si! Shut up! You won't survive if you keep talking. They're the Marines. They might not care about us, but they do!" Zero couldn't help but shout when he saw Lao Si still revealing the World Government's conspiracy. He really didn't think Vic would let them go.
"Slap"
"You're the one who should shut up! A prisoner has no right to speak!"
Rebecca, who was trying to break free, slapped Zero hard across the face when she heard him say that. Zero was stunned by the slap, but seeing Rebecca's eyes, he knew that the slap was partly due to personal grudges; Rebecca really wanted revenge for that punch.
"Since the supply can't keep up with the demand, with the power of the World Government and the Celestial Dragons, they should be increasing the planting area, right? But I've never seen this flower before. Is it picky about the soil?"
Vic knew the Celestial Dragons ' nature; they would absolutely satisfy any demand, even if it meant destroying more countries. He ignored Zero and continued to ask.
