And so, the day passed quickly. On the morning of the third day, Vic's ship encountered no more pirates, not even a single ship or person. It seemed as if the entire ocean contained only the two of them and the porpoise.
Vic's small boat did not sail along the Grand Line; it traversed laterally, merging from one route to another.
On the Elite Camp's warship, Rebecca and Ain were watching the sunrise on the deck, in the same direction Vic had left.
"Sister Rebecca, who were those masked people yesterday? They were so scary!"
"You wouldn't understand even if I told you. You'll understand when you grow up. Just stay away from them."
"I'll definitely grow bigger than you!"
You should say she's taller than me, not "bigger."
I'm going to be bigger and better looking than you!
"I believe you're taller than me, but I don't believe you're prettier than me. Red hair looks better than blue hair!"
"What are you two talking about? What's with all this talk about whether your hair looks good or not?" Barnett and Frodeku arrived at that moment.
"It's nothing, Ain just wants to grow up quickly," Rebecca said, resting her chin on her hand without turning her head.
" Barnett, it's been three days already, hasn't it? When are we going to set off to find Vic?" Ain asked, looking puzzled.
"It should be soon. The situation on the island is basically over. The World Government has asked all the questions they needed to ask, and it's about time we left."
Barnett wasn't in a very good mood either. He had only met the people from the World Government for the first time in the past two days, and he could only describe them with one sentence: arrogant and disrespectful.
"Will we run into the Red Hair Pirates? With Zephyr- sensei around, I don't want to run into them! I'd rather we had our own warship before we meet them, then we could have a friendly spar!"
Rebecca didn't have a bad impression of Shanks. She heard from Vic that there was a little girl on their ship too. How bad could someone like that be?
"That's hard to say. That's a huge pirate crew. We might not have the upper hand in a real fight, especially since Vic isn't on the ship right now!"
Barnett's analysis is very objective. The reason why Kong had Zephyr intercept the Red Hair Pirates was because Vic was also on the warship. Otherwise, such a task of intercepting a great pirate would not be given to trainee recruits like the Elite Camp, even if there were former Admiral on the warship.
" Barnett, Vic should be on that island with the doctor by now, right?" Ain interjected.
"I checked the nautical chart. At Vic's speed, barring any unforeseen circumstances, it should be close..."
" Barnett, don't say it out loud!"
Barnett was interrupted loudly by Rebecca before he could finish speaking. Rebecca and Wendy had already confirmed that Barnett had a knack for Karasu things, and if nothing unexpected happened, something was bound to go wrong.
Barnett looked puzzled. He was confused by Rebecca interrupting him. He hadn't realized his tendency to Karasu things; he was just doing a normal analysis, and he hadn't expected Rebecca to react so strongly.
"Let's not talk about Vic anymore. The right thing to do is for Professor Zephyr to leave here and go find Vic," Rebecca quickly said.
"Yes, the most important thing is to bring the captain and Wendy back as soon as possible. With the captain's strength, there won't be any problems, and there won't be any accidents!" Frodeku said firmly.
Vic didn't sleep all night, sitting cross-legged on the floor next to Wendy's bed, meditating. Although the small boat's journey wouldn't take long, with Xiaobai joining in, the time would only be shorter.
However, Vic did not let go of this little bit of time; he continued his Haki training and sword practice, which was an attitude.
Vic opened his eyes and glanced at Wendy on the bed. Her face was still flushed, and she remained unconscious.
"Boom"
Just as Vic was thinking that the voyage would be smooth sailing from here on out, a loud Water Shot sound came from the water.
Vic immediately ran outside the cabin. He hadn't noticed it while he was in the bedroom, but now the sky outside had darkened and a few drops of rain were falling occasionally.
The rain was a bit scary, though; a single drop could engulf Xiaobai, and if it hit the boat, it could sink instantly.
" Xiaobai, keep an eye on the sky, don't let the water droplets hit the boat!"
Vic didn't dare delay and quickly called out to the Xiaobai pulling the boat, "There's a patient on board."
After shouting, Vic quickly returned to the bedroom and secured Wendy to the bed. A huge drop of water falling into the sea would also create a large wave, and the small boat itself would hardly be able to withstand such waves. Being hit by a large wave would inevitably cause it to toss and turn.
After securing Wendy, Vic returned to the deck. Xiaobai was no longer swimming in a straight line in the sea; to avoid the water droplets from the sky, Xiaobai would change direction at any time. Vic came to the deck to prevent Xiaobai from encountering any huge water droplets.
At first, it was alright; the raindrops weren't very dense. But as time went on, the raindrops in the sky became more numerous, faster, and denser, like a light drizzle turning into a moderate rain, or even a heavy rain.
Xiaobai was truly helpless; wherever it tried to hide, it was bombarded by huge water droplets. The sea was already surging and turbulent, and the small boat was tossed about by the waves, in danger of capsizing at any moment.
At this moment, Vic had no time to worry about anything else. He needed to use his twin swords to cut through all the water droplets hitting the small boat. If the boat was hit by these giant water droplets, it would immediately disintegrate. Vic could only take care of what was in front of him first.
"I've heard that the New World has this kind of climate, but no one told me it existed in the first half of the world. Why have I been so unlucky lately?"
Vic unleashed Sword Gang, slicing through several large water droplets that came in succession. With his twin blades in hand, Vic dared not relax for a moment, continuously unleashing Sword Gang to block all the water droplets that wanted to smash the ship.
The dense rain continued for fifteen minutes, and Vic swung his knife without stopping for the same amount of time.
The raindrops gradually thinned out and seemed to be stopping. Even Xiaobai was too scared to surface and stayed submerged to pull the boat.
The raindrops gradually decreased until they stopped falling, but Vic's heart was not at ease, because the sky was still gloomy. Looking at the dark clouds not high above the sea, with lightning and thunder, it seemed as if they were pressing down directly on his head, giving him a suffocating feeling.
"No wonder Golden Lion lost to Roger in the naval battle back then; even the Float-Float Fruit couldn't withstand such a natural power! Only Iron Wall Pirates like Roger Pirates's could stand against it!"
Vic didn't even sheath his knife; his intuition told him that the huge drop of water he'd just seen was an appetizer, and the main course was probably yet to come.
"Boom..."
