"That island is in the New World. In the center of the island is a large volcano that is active year-round but never erupts. On the island, there is a piece of metal the size of a fingernail that no ordinary person could pick up; its weight is beyond imagination. The scenery on the island is fatally alluring. You just need to find such an island, and that's it."
Allen had already planned to tell Vic, but when Vic asked, he told him without hiding anything or making any demands.
That's it?
"Hmm, that's all!"
"Are you sure your grandmaster ever went to that island? How come there's no specific location for such an important place? Did your grandmaster go there for nothing?"
Vic felt as uncomfortable as if he had swallowed a fly. You said so much before, so confidently, and now you're telling me, "I don't know where it is either, you'll have to go look for it yourself." What he thought would be a simple task turned out to be like finding a needle in a haystack.
"Hehe! My master only told me this before he passed away. He knew that I was very obsessed with forging Famous Sword, and my ambition was to forge an Supreme Great Grade Sword. So he hesitated to tell me about that island!"
He was afraid I'd overestimate myself and do something foolish that would sever the lineage of our sect. When he finally decided to tell me the location of that island, he passed away before even getting to the specific spot. There was nothing I could do; otherwise, I would have already taken people there!
Allen laughed somewhat awkwardly. He was indeed a little embarrassed. It was like someone telling you that there's a number in tomorrow's lottery that's guaranteed to win the jackpot, but they just don't know what that number is. They told you to just try it yourself; the number is there, and you'll eventually win if you keep trying.
Allen still remembers the complex and relieved look in his master's eyes as he breathed his last. There was no regret in his master for not telling him the exact location. Perhaps his master didn't want to tell him the location at all. His master knew his disciple too well. If he had told him, he would probably have sent his disciple to his death. But leaving some clues was a way to give his disciple something to look forward to.
"Do you even know how many islands in the New World have volcanoes? How long would it take to find them all!"
Vic is right. Although there are only three magnetic shipping routes in the New World, and it seems there aren't many islands, that's still half of the New World World's ocean area that circles the entire planet!
There aren't that many islands with special magnetic properties, but there are quite a few without. These islands can be bypassed without affecting subsequent navigation, but such islands are the most numerous in the New World.
"Uh! You're still young, take your time looking. Maybe you'll get lucky and find it on this trip. Who knows!"
Allen was still a little embarrassed, so he took a big gulp of wine to cover it up. After finishing the wine, he pretended to doze off and stopped looking at Vic.
"Alright, stop pretending. Although I didn't know the exact location, I still want to thank you for letting me know. Otherwise, I might have missed it if I had actually come across the island. Let's go!"
Seeing Allen's performance, Vic was both amused and exasperated. He tilted his head back and drank the entire bottle of wine, then placed two more bottles at Allen's feet before getting up, saying something, and leaving.
When Allen heard Vic was leaving, he slightly opened his eyes to glance at Vic's back. When he saw Vic about to turn around to look at him, he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. Only when Vic's footsteps faded away did he slowly open his eyes. Seeing the two bottles of wine at his feet, Allen's lips curled into a smile. The old man's happiness was so simple.
Afterwards Vic went to see Andrew at the Recruit Camp. Although the two had clashed quite a bit during Vic's recruit days, they were all minor issues that Vic didn't care about at all.
Looking back now, they are some wonderful memories, much more interesting than a stagnant life. When Vic arrived, Andrew was supervising the new recruits' training.
Andrew and the new recruits were quite surprised by Vic's arrival. Vic was a hot commodity in the Navy and an idol to the young marines. When they saw Vic arrive, they kept looking in their direction with fervor in their eyes!
Andrew often talked about Vic, his senior from the previous year, to the new recruits, telling them how Vic trained and how he achieved what he has today. He was quite proud of this prodigy who had emerged from his ranks; it's been years since someone like him has come up with such a talent!
To establish authority among the new recruits, Vic was the best tool and role model. His achievements speak for themselves, so he wasn't afraid of anything anyone said, and the young people believed in this approach.
Seeing that such an important figure as Vic was coming to see Instructor Andrew, Andrew's previous words to them became more credible and he believed them even more wholeheartedly. His resolve strengthened, and he trained with even more vigor.
When Vic returned to the seaside cabin, Rebecca and the others had already packed their things. Most of them had been put on the warship in advance, and only the things they still needed were left behind. Since there wasn't much stuff, it was easy to pack.
After a quick meal, Vic had some free time again, which led him to continue his training. Rebecca and the others, on the other hand, were very excited and couldn't concentrate on their training at all. They wandered around the headquarters, chatting and laughing non-stop.
Before dawn, Rebecca and the others couldn't sleep. They hurriedly and noisily started packing, having been looking forward to their voyage for so long. Even Vic was meditating outside, was disturbed by their excitement. Knowing their feelings, Vic smiled, shook his head, and got up to go inside and start packing as well.
When Vic and his group arrived at the seaside, it was still not fully light, but there were still quite a few people busy at the port.
The navy is a very large organization, requiring countless supplies every day, so it's normal for the port to be busy. However, this has nothing to do with Vic's warships; they were already prepared and ready to depart at any time.
" Vic! This is Gion- nee asked me to give you. It's her Vivre Card. She said you understand what she means. This one with my name on it was made for me by someone Gion- nee. She also said your Vivre Card is with her, and if you want it, go to her and get it."
Rebecca handed the two Vivre Card to Vic beside her and said something. Vic's eyebrows twitched when he heard Rebecca's words.
Of course he knew what Gion meant when she said he understood. Wasn't Gion's previous statement that she didn't want to Vice Admiral just for her lust? Vic managed to refuse, but he also agreed to Gion's request to visit her from time to time.
So much time had passed that he assumed Gion had reformed and forgotten about it, but little did he know that the Vivre Card had been prepared long ago; he just hadn't given it to him yet.
When Gion left headquarters, he still held onto a sliver of hope, but now he had to face reality. He couldn't not go; Gion held his Vivre Card in her hands. If he didn't go, Gion could come looking for him—a clear threat. Vic couldn't help but sigh, thinking that the Vivre Card was truly a double-edged sword!
