Vic manipulated the Sabaody auction to obtain Devil Fruits, then arranged for Tesoro to secretly fund Dragon’s Revolutionary Army. After returning to Titan Island, Vic trained while his crew fought Kaido, who came to challenge him over Yamato.

• Vic helped drive the auction bids, and Saint Shalria bought Rayleigh for three hundred million Beli.
• Katakuri won the Mirror-Mirror Fruit, and Dragon won the Warp-Warp Fruit before Vic escaped the auction vault and delivered Dragon’s fruit to him.
• Vic gave Tesoro the Lucky-Lucky Fruit and persuaded him to secretly fund the Revolutionary Army while keeping his business and remaining outside the organization.
• Vic delivered the Mirror-Mirror Fruit to Ban, then returned to Titan Island and trained while his crew gained combat experience.
• Kaido attacked Yamato, Rebecca, and Kuina, defeated them, and promised to come to Titan Island in half a month for a showdown over Yamato.
• Vic prepared to face Kaido, trained with Blood Wither under Titan Island’s gravity, and gathered Pure Gold as Kaido approached.
• Kaido arrived in Azure Dragon form and unleashed more Conqueror’s Haki after Vic warned him to restrain his powers.

Vic defeated Kaido, returned Kuina to her family, and watched Luffy begin his journey through the East Blue. After Kuina tested herself against Mihawk, Vic visited Smoker in Loguetown and explained why the World Government had made him a Shichibukai.

• Vic defeated Kaido in a prolonged battle, then kept him alive and released him from Titan Island in exchange for the favor Kaido had once shown him.
• Vic took Kuina to Shimotsuki Village, where she reunited with Koshiro and Kozaburo, and later visited Foosha Village as Luffy set out to sea.
• As Luffy formed his crew with Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, Vic and Kuina watched their arrival at the Baratie, where Zoro challenged and lost to Mihawk.
• Vic prevented Don Krieg’s poison gas from spreading, then left his former Marine sword beside the injured Zoro and sailed away with Kuina.
• Vic brought Kuina to Mihawk for a duel, and she fought him fiercely before conceding defeat and promising to challenge him again.
• Vic left Kuina and visited Smoker in Loguetown, where Smoker explained why he had chosen to protect his hometown instead of pursuing advancement in the Marines.
• Vic told Smoker that the Celestial Dragons would never let him return to the Marines and that the World Government had made him a Shichibukai out of fear of his strength and ruthlessness.

Vic reunited with Smoker and Tashigi, secretly protected the Straw Hat Pirates through Alabasta, and supported Robin's decision to join them. He then cultivated inside the Rainbow Mist and the Soul Tree, reaching the God Realm while Luffy's crew traveled to Sky Island and Long Ring Long Land.

• Vic urged Smoker to grow stronger and reunited with Tashigi before Dragon saved Luffy from Buggy's execution and helped the Straw Hat Pirates escape Loguetown.
• The Straw Hat Pirates befriended Vivi, recruited Chopper, and sailed to Alabasta determined to defeat Crocodile without asking Vic for help.
• Vic helped Robin save Luffy, barred Crocodile from using Haki against him, saved Pell from the timed shell, and brought rain as Luffy defeated Crocodile.
• Vivi bid the Straw Hat Pirates farewell, Bon Clay diverted Hina's pursuit, and Robin joined the crew with Vic's support.

Vic followed the Straw Hat Pirates from Water 7 to Sabaody, helped Kuma scatter the crew, and prepared to intervene when Ace faced public execution. At Marine Headquarters, Whitebeard arrived and the battle began, while Vic secretly protected Little Oars Jr. and watched the fighting unfold.

• The Straw Hat Pirates rescued Robin from CP9, lost the Going Merry, and received the Thousand Sunny from Franky and Iceburg before continuing their journey with Brook.
• Rebecca intervened when Doflamingo attacked the exhausted Straw Hat Pirates, then discussed their route to Sabaody with Vic.
• Vic warned Sengoku about Blackbeard’s ambitions after learning that Teach had gained the Shichibukai position by offering Ace to the World Government.
• The Five Elders arranged Ace’s public execution to provoke Whitebeard, and Vic told Garp he would handle the situation at Marine Headquarters.
• At Sabaody, Luffy punched Charlos, Kizaru attacked the pirates, and Kuma sent the Straw Hat crew away while Rayleigh fought Kizaru.
