Awakening and the Search for the Dragon-Phoenix Bloodline

Di Tian and the other Ten Great Ferocious Beasts gave all their energy and most of their life force to help the injured Silver Dragon King recover, then entered slumber. He awakened when a drop of Xiao Yan’s violet-gold blood partially healed her, causing the Lake of Life to tremble 15.

The Silver Dragon King and the Ferocious Beasts searched unsuccessfully for the blood’s source. When Xiao Yan’s Dragon-Phoenix apparition appeared across the continent, she recognized its connection to the healing blood. Di Tian helped connect its arrival with the Titan Giant Ape’s earlier encounter with human children, then learned that his sovereign intended to search the human world herself 27.

Dragon Valley Expedition

Di Tian led four other Ferocious Beasts in maintaining the fissure into Dragon Valley for Gu Yuena and Xiao Yan. When Xiong Jun objected to a human receiving the clan’s inheritance, Di Tian defended the decision, explaining that Xiao Yan’s exceptionally noble bloodline made him more than an ordinary human. Privately, however, he worried that Gu Yuena’s limited strength would leave her vulnerable if Xiao Yan betrayed her 34.

He also watched over the Three-Eyed Golden Lion after she followed them into Dragon Valley. Although he initially urged her to leave, he allowed her to remain and absorb dragon-soul clouds under his protection. During the expedition, Xiao Yan’s awakening bloodline compelled Di Tian and the other beasts to submit instinctively 34.

Only three days passed for the waiting beasts while Xiao Yan and Gu Yuena spent a year in the Dragon Graveyard. When the pair returned with the Dragon God’s Heart, Di Tian and his companions saluted Gu Yuena, then knelt to Xiao Yan as their Common Master 36.

Serving the New Common Master

At the Lake of Life, Di Tian explained the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s captivity and lack of fighting ability despite his immense cultivation. On Xiao Yan’s orders, he arranged for the beasts draining the silkworm’s energy to stop and placed him under protection 37.

Di Tian also acted cautiously during Xiao Yan’s meeting with the true Silver Dragon King, speaking up because he feared her pressure might overwhelm the much weaker new ruler. While accompanying Xiao Yan around the lake, he explained the Golden Dragon Spear’s life-draining properties, bloodline requirements, and uncertain history 37 38.

Battle Against Xiao Yan

After inheriting the Golden Dragon King’s power, Xiao Yan invited Di Tian to test his new strength. Di Tian accepted, eager to witness the power of the Golden Dragon King, but initially restrained himself out of concern for his sovereign’s safety 40 42.

Di Tian sincerely acknowledged Xiao Yan’s strength after the match, and the assembled Soul Beasts bowed to their sovereign. The result was not a defeat of Di Tian at full power: he never exceeded seventy percent, and Xiao Yan’s supreme bloodlines exerted substantial suppression on him 42.

Afterward, Di Tian questioned Xiao Yan’s interest in the seemingly helpless Sky Dream Ice Silkworm. When Xiao Yan reminded him that outward strength had also failed to predict their own battle, Di Tian immediately accepted the correction 43.

Personality

Di Tian is loyal to the Silver Dragon King without being blind to danger. He follows her decisions but privately worries about her increasingly autocratic behavior and the risks of entrusting Gu Yuena to Xiao Yan. He nevertheless rebukes Xiong Jun for dismissing Xiao Yan merely because he is human 34.

His treatment of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion reveals an affectionate, protective side. He regards her as both a companion and a child, smiling indulgently at her antics while taking responsibility for her safety 34.

Despite his pride as the Beast God, Di Tian exercises considerable restraint. During his public spar with Xiao Yan, he suppresses his anger at being repeatedly struck by a weaker junior and warns before increasing his strength. He refuses to retreat before the Dragon Slaying Sword, yet readily admits Xiao Yan’s achievement and later acknowledges his own mistaken judgment of the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm 42 43.
