Background / History

After their parents died, Li Cangtian took responsibility for his younger brother, Li Tianji. Tianji’s Fate and Karma Physique carried a Calamity Curse expected to kill him before his tenth birthday. Cangtian repeatedly sought help from the Li Lineage’s patriarchs and spent much of his time searching for Karma Source, which could temporarily suppress the calamity 6.

Caring for Tianji restricted both his cultivation resources and his opportunities to travel. He pawned divine stones, spiritual materials, pills, and other possessions until only his bonded spear and Holy Son token points remained. His knowledge of the wider Primordial Dao Domain came largely from books read in his spare time 7 12.

Although he ranked ninth among the Holy Sons, Tianji believed his brother’s potential was not inferior to the Lineage’s other exceptional physiques. Cangtian planned to challenge the higher-ranked successors and the newly appointed Divine Son to demonstrate enough talent to attract the attention of the ancient ancestors, hoping they might save Tianji 6.

Personality

Li Cangtian’s devotion to his brother outweighs his concern for wealth, status, or personal advancement. He is gentle and attentive toward Tianji, but willing to challenge stronger rivals, surrender his possessions, or sacrifice his own bloodline and Blue Heaven Bone to save him 6 7 13.

Despite his pride in his strength, he remains composed under praise and insists on fair terms when challenging Li Xunyuan. After losing, he openly acknowledges the defeat and honors his promise to become a follower. Li Qingshu remembers him as formerly unruly and unwilling to yield to anyone, making his sincere submission especially striking 9 10 11 45.

His loyalty can become dangerously self-sacrificing. Against Ao Xing, he attempts self-detonation rather than retreat from a lethal attack. After Li Xunyuan saves him, his shame centers on having embarrassed the Divine Son rather than on nearly dying 21.
