Background

The Li Lineage has endured for countless epochs and once produced a taboo existence among its ancestors. It is introduced as Eastern Emperor Heaven’s foremost power and the Primordial Dao Domain’s most mysterious Immortal Clan. Outsiders do not know the full extent of its foundations; during the preceding epoch, it had shown signs of establishing itself as the domain’s foremost family 1 23.

The lineage deliberately left Xuanming Divine Mountain, the Heavenly Demon Phoenix Dynasty, and the Great Void Dragon Court standing as hostile rivals to temper its descendants. Its elders considered outside trials necessary to prevent talented juniors from becoming complacent. Resource disputes and minor clashes continued for years, while the feud with the Great Void Dragon Court escalated into mortal enmity 1 16.

Organization and Succession

• Merit-based succession: The Divine Son position is awarded through talent and strength, not inherited automatically. Li Xunyuan’s appointment does not follow simply from his father having held the title 3.
• Divine Son: Leads the younger generation and serves as the future young patriarch. If he survives, he is expected to become patriarch 3.
• Nine principal contenders: The nine Holy Sons are qualified to challenge the Divine Son. Ranked female successors also bear the title Holy Maiden, as with Fifth Holy Maiden Li Qingshu 3 15 37.
• Authority and resources: Greater talent and potential bring greater authority. Li Xunyuan receives unrestricted resource support, while even Ninth Holy Son Li Cangtian faces limits on what he can obtain 6 7.
• Branch structure: Individual branches maintain their own elders, resources, and inheritances. Li Qingshu’s branch supports her cultivation, while the Mad Immortal Lineage preserves its distinctive forbidden art 37 40.

• Burns lifespan to increase combat attributes temporarily; most past inheritors died in their prime 40 41.
• Can cause indiscriminate attacks against allies and enemies. Elders previously intervened when Li Zhixing nearly killed fellow clan members in a Supreme Secret Realm 40.
• Li Zhixing’s Indestructible Dao Body is particularly suited to the art. He later states that he can retain his reason while using it 40.

Resource Exchange and Patronage

• Merit points: Members exchange merit points for techniques. The superior sacred-tier Sacred Heaven Dao Fire Art costs 300 million points—equivalent to three years of Li Nantian’s salary 23.
• Ancestral instruction: Selected juniors receive personal guidance or undergo ancestral inheritance trials, as demonstrated by Li Xunyuan, Li Qingshu, and Li Zhixing 3 37 42.
• Immortal Crystals: Remain difficult to obtain even for Li Qianqiu, despite his elder status 42.
• Primordial Dao Stele: The lineage possesses the naturally formed testing stele that disappeared a century earlier. It measures physical strength and Dao comprehension before being shattered by Li Xunyuan’s Dao phenomenon 48 50.

• Immortal Yun Lineage — Close allies for generations. The marriage of Li Xiaoran and Yun Xiyue makes their ties still stronger. The Yun delegation brings a Supreme divine weapon, two Three Lives Emperor Keys, and 1,000 supreme-grade Immortal Crystals to Li Xunyuan’s banquet 28 45.
• Great Void Dragon Court — Mortal enemy. Repeated conflicts have cost supreme experts their lives; the deaths of Ao Xing and Great Saint Ao Xu intensify the feud 16 23 25.
• Xuanming Divine Mountain — Sworn enemy. Sends Xuan Shijiu to investigate Li Xunyuan’s birth, then challenges the lineage through Xuan Yi after Li Xunyuan humiliates Xuan Xiao 2 39.

• Chaos Ancestral Dragon Clan — The dragon who becomes Li Xunyuan’s mount says his father ordered him to obey the Li Lineage and considered serving it an honor 35.

Major Events

Appointment of a New Divine Son

Li Xunyuan’s birth produces extraordinary phenomena across the ancestral lands. The Ninth Ancestor appoints him Divine Son and takes responsibility for his cultivation. His subsequent defeat of Li Cangtian wins the younger generation’s respect, while his treatment of Li Tianji secures both brothers’ loyalty 1 3 11 14 17.

Heaven-Subduing Ancient City

Li Xunyuan’s public arrival on a golden dragon provokes Ao Xing. The confrontation ends with Ao Xing’s death and Li Nantian killing Great Saint Ao Xu. At the Futian Auction, Li Xunyuan also overwhelms Xuan Xiao, spreading the lineage’s reputation beyond its own territory 18 21 23 33 37.

Xuan Yi’s Challenge

With Li Xunyuan in seclusion, Xuan Yi publicly challenges him and accuses the lineage’s younger generation of cowardice. Li Qingshu prepares to answer, but Li Zhixing takes the field while she follows as a precaution. Their elders dispatch at least five protectors to watch over the encounter 39 40.

Li Zhixing fights Xuan Yi for a full day and night before the battle ends in a draw. His performance forces outside powers to reassess the strength of the entire Li younger generation 41 42.

Emergence Banquet and Secret Alliance

The lineage hosts Li Xunyuan’s entry-into-the-world banquet around his eighth birthday, attracting major powers and lavish gifts. Seating follows factional standing, but all guests receive the same standard of food and drink 15 44 45.

During the celebration, the Ninth Ancestor secretly concludes an alliance with the Heavenly Demon Phoenix Dynasty. The banquet’s Dao discussion offers a day in the Immortal Pavilion and the first move of an immortal art as its prize. Li Zhixing, Li Cangtian, and Li Qingshu initially hold the top three stele results before Li Xunyuan’s manifestation destroys the stele 46 47 49 50.

Reputation and Customs

• Brief, inconclusive duels: Younger members habitually exchange only two or three moves with outside prodigies before leaving. This earns the family its “Rogue” and “Fifty-Fifty” nicknames while obscuring its heirs’ true strength 1 2 42.
• Protective elders: The lineage encourages juniors to compete but assigns powerful guardians against outside interference 17 18 40.
• Affection within the clan: Li Qianqiu and the elders greet the newborn Li Xunyuan with exuberant affection rather than formal distance 3.
• Possible Chaos Dao Domain connection: The Origin Qilin recalls another exceptionally powerful Li Lineage in the Chaos Dao Domain and wonders whether the two are connected. The connection remains unconfirmed 35.
