Chen Shuangbai developed his pill refining and combat skills, then joined Lu Zhiyuan and Jiang Xunzhen to explore an ancient cave abode and fight Heart-Eroding Stronghold cultivators. He returned with a Life-Accepting Gourd and a Jia Wood Spirit Seed, and the stretch ended with Yan Qi asking him to treat a poisoned Evil Hunting Hall disciple.
Chen Shuangbai treated poisoned villagers, built connections through pill-making and alchemy, and gained access to an original sword instruction before leaving the sect for a garrison assignment. He chose the dangerous Wind Howling Ford, then went to White Water County to confront the main family’s attempt to seize his branch family’s ancestral property.
Chen Shuangbai settled his family’s affairs, then went to Wind Howling Ford to restore the Spring-Venerating Daoist Academy and confront the local powers obstructing it. After striking an alliance with Wei Chengfeng and defeating three bandit cultivators, he learned the four households had sent cultivation materials elsewhere and prepared to meet their leaders.
Chen Shuangbai consolidated his authority, refined a powerful Yin Thunder method, and destroyed the Compassionate Light Temple after uncovering its crimes. After surviving an assassination attempt and killing Bai Xiuyuan, he confronted Bai Zhixing, whose demonic power revealed the brothers’ connection to a demon king.
Chen Shuangbai restored order in Wind Howling County, then joined Zhao Shiyong, Yu Laoliu, and Lady Yun to seek a treasure beneath the river.
