Background and History

Transmigration and Entry into the Famous Sword Sect

In his original world, Qin Yi approached a distressed woman on a twenty-fourth-floor rooftop. She embraced him and jumped, taking him with her. He then appeared high above a battlefield in another world, where the Invincible Favorability System activated during his fall 1.

His landing crushed a demonic-path attacker and accidentally saved Gu Yiyi. After receiving treatment at the Famous Sword Sect, he concealed his unfamiliarity with the world by claiming that his ancestors had fled overseas and that he had returned to their homeland. He also invented a story about falling from a falcon during a storm 1 2.

Gu Yanshan initially allowed him to stay on Emerald Bamboo Peak as repayment for saving his daughter. Qin Yi’s sudden advancement to the fifth level of Qi Refining changed that arrangement: Gu Yanshan formally accepted him as a disciple and promised personal instruction 2 3 4.

Becoming Eldest Senior Brother

Qin Yi’s closeness with Gu Yiyi antagonized Huang Tianrong and Nie Jianyun. When Huang Tianrong attempted to assert authority over him, Qin Yi accepted a spar and proposed that the winner become Emerald Bamboo Peak’s eldest senior brother 10 11 12.

He defeated Huang Tianrong with Green Lotus Sword Song, then won a second exchange after agreeing not to use it. Instead, he copied Huang Tianrong’s Heavenly Secrets Sword Technique and improved Three Stars Chase the Moon into Six Stars Across the Sky. Gu Yanshan subsequently confirmed his new position 14 15.

Meanwhile, Qin Yi used sword lessons to court Gu Yiyi. Her affection reached 90, displacing Hua Yunfeng as the person she liked most and completing Qin Yi’s first love-stealing mission. He delayed claiming the remaining reward until after receiving foundational instruction, then entered Foundation Establishment 16 17 18.

Nine Turns Mountain Range Assignment

Qin Yi accompanied Gu Yiyi, Song Xianming, Xu Xinran, and Miao Xiufeng on a medicinal-material gathering assignment. Before reaching the mountains, he defeated Song Xianming in an unarmed fight using his newly generated Mantra Fist Art 19 20 21.

After the group divided its tasks, Qin Yi searched with Gu Yiyi and deepened their relationship during an overnight stay in her tortoise-shell grotto-heaven. Her affection eventually reached 100 24 25 26.

He later rescued Xu Xinran from Fire Salamander Beasts, but also manipulated their circumstances to encourage dependence and physical closeness. Their relationship developed despite her arranged pairing with Song Xianming. Qin Yi initially planned to house her outside the sect to conceal the affair 28 29 30.

Song Xianming discovered them together and attacked. Xiahou Tai then joined him in planning to kill Qin Yi and Xu Xinran and blame wild beasts. Qin Yi used a Nascent Soul Experience Card to overpower Xiahou Tai; both opponents were dead by the time Qin Yi left the cavern with Xu Xinran. Their deaths allowed her to return to the sect rather than remain outside it 32 34 35 37.

Conflict over Sect Resources

At the Mission Pavilion, Qin Yi refused to surrender the rare Fire Salamander Bones after learning that Hua Yunfeng would receive priority over the materials. His refusal escalated into a confrontation with pill-refining elder Gan Lusong 37 38.

Gu Yanshan intervened and defended his right to retain the materials. He later warned Qin Yi that his ordinary strength was still insufficient to defeat Hua Yunfeng, then offered further instruction in the Dripping Water Sword legacy 39 40.

Sword Debate and the Blood-Colored Forbidden Land

With the Sword Debate for First Place two months away, Qin Yi chose the Heavenly Secrets Sword Technique for competition while keeping his Jade Pivot Sword Art and Dripping Water Sword inheritance concealed. He aimed for the overall sword chief title rather than merely a division championship 47.

During this period, he cultivated Xiao Qingyu’s interest through tailored sparring, encouragement, and instruction. His treatment of her deliberately contrasted with Shangguan Qing’s dismissiveness, and her favorability reached 70 44 48 49.

Qin Yi initially refused to enter the deadly Blood-Colored Forbidden Land. After Xiao Qingyu decided to go alone, however, he reconsidered following her. The system’s assurance that Ultimate Detection could help him avoid danger made him eager to explore it 47 50.

His confidence does not eliminate caution. He postpones missions to improve their value, hides much of his swordsmanship, and initially rejects an expedition with an extreme death rate. He also recognizes that relying on temporary Nascent Soul power has made him dangerously overconfident 6 18 22 38 47.
