Background / History

Boruto was originally a young man who inexplicably transmigrated into the world of Naruto, awakening as Boruto Uzumaki shortly before his first day at the Ninja Academy. Armed with knowledge of future threats, he resolved to protect Naruto's family and prevent the Shinobi World's tragedies from recurring. His earliest stated ambition was to become the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki. 1

He awakened the Jōgan ahead of its expected timing while investigating Sumire Kakei's actions. Dissatisfied with its initially limited benefits and his weak chakra, he began pursuing power through Shadow Clone training, Sage Arts, the Tenseigan, sealing techniques, and bloodline research. 2 3 5 12

After Toneri supported his Tenseigan awakening and physical transformation, Boruto began operating beyond the scope of an ordinary Academy student.
