The shirt
At some point, someone had changed him into a narrow, fitted black shirt.
It outlined his waist, making it look even narrower, and left him very uncomfortable.
At the collar of the shirt was a beautiful, exquisite brooch, shimmering with color.
Set into it was a large diamond that reflected a multicolored gray under the crystal chandelier.
It was the original color of his eyes.
High-purity gray diamonds were hard to find. After all, once a diamond turned gray, it became a murky haze, and its price took a bone-crushing plunge.
But this diamond had been gray to begin with.
Dazzling and brilliant, it would undoubtedly fetch a high price if it appeared at auction.
Gu Xiao had never seen a diamond of such quality.
It was worth several times more than the diamond Fu Huai had given him.
He did not even know what this diamond was called.
Gu Xiao glanced at the brooch, then forcibly tore it off with a rip.
Even the shirt was torn.
There was no way he would wear clothes someone else had given him.
Gu Xiao tossed it aside. He was just about to get out of bed when the veins on his forehead bulged-
The shirt stays were still firmly fastened around his thighs.
Gu Xiao closed his eyes briefly, then immediately ordered a thorough search of his residence!
He refused to believe that thing had left no trace at all!
Gu Xiao caused enough of a commotion that the other three easily learned of it.
Fu Huai was the first to arrive. Looking at the expressionless Gu Xiao, he knew the other man was angry, yet he could not discern his emotions.
Because he could not smell that faint, elegant floral fragrance.
"A-Xiao, what happened?" Fu Huai asked casually. "Was there a thief? What blind fool dared touch your things?"
Gu Xiao withdrew his gaze from Fu Huai as though nothing had happened. "Let's go."
Fu Huai frowned slightly. After two seconds of fruitless thought, he could only ask, "Where?"
Gu Xiao said, "Isn't my birthday party about to start? Didn't you come to get me?"
Fu Huai gave Gu Xiao a hesitant glance. "Yes."
He should not have been the one coming to fetch him. There were plenty of people who could run errands.
Lin An, for instance.
That dog was rubbing his hands in anticipation, thinking only of how to please A-Xiao, waiting for something to slip through his fingers.
There was no way A-Xiao would give him anything.
Fu Huai said nothing, quietly following behind Gu Xiao instead.
The faint breeze stirred by Gu Xiao's movements brushed past him, but-
He could no longer smell the irises.
Was A-Xiao's suppressant really that effective?
His hair was still damp. Clearly, he had washed it without drying it afterward.
Fu Huai smiled faintly. A-Xiao really did not know how to look after himself.
But then his gaze shifted, and his expression changed. He saw that A-Xiao's hair was very messy...
"A-Xiao, your hair...?"
Gu Xiao said lightly, "I forgot to comb it."
"Then what were you making such a fuss over?"
Gu Xiao said, "Nothing," and spoke no further.
Fu Huai narrowed his eyes slightly. He did not believe that.
Was someone hiding in A-Xiao's dorm room?
An omega, a beta, or an alpha...
No, no one should have been in his room!
"A-Xiao, about Lu Keyan's identity..." Fu Huai could not help saying a few words. "Although he's the Lu Family's illegitimate son, they've acknowledged him as family, after all. Should we revoke his red card?"
Gu Xiao chuckled, his lips parting slightly. "Why should we?"
"A-Xiao, you-"
Fu Huai was just about to say something when Gu Xiao said, "He insists on pleasing me. If I turned him down, wouldn't that be terribly rude?"
Those words stunned Fu Huai.
"He's... pleasing you?"
There was little expression on Gu Xiao's face, leaving no clue to read.
Several times before, Fu Huai had felt that Gu Xiao had already lost interest in Lu Keyan.
What was there about a specially admitted student, besides that face, that deserved A-Xiao's attention?
A-Xiao had always reacted coldly to Lu Keyan. Fu Huai knew how to read the room and understood that A-Xiao was bored again, so he simply stopped asking and instead thought of finding an opportunity to get rid of Lu Keyan.
He was only Lu Keyan. There was nothing difficult about dealing with him.
But recently, A-Xiao's interest in Lu Keyan had rekindled.
He had also learned that Lu Keyan was not only the Lu Family's illegitimate son who had been acknowledged as family, but had become an alpha in one fell swoop.
A lie like secondary differentiation could only fool idiots.
Lu Keyan had clearly been an alpha from the start.
He had deliberately approached them as a beta. Surely he had been after something?
"A-Xiao, there's something very strange about Lu Keyan," Fu Huai could only continue trying to persuade him. "If you want to play a game, you can choose someone else. There are so many people at school. There's bound to be someone suitable."
Gu Xiao tilted his head, looking at Fu Huai strangely. "What, are you standing up for Lu Keyan? Or do you want me to let him off because he's about to become Ji Chuan's?"
Fu Huai felt a little helpless.
"Is that what you think?"
"Yes."
Even though A-Xiao was already nineteen, he was not much different from when he had been nine.
Only his appearance had changed.
Beneath his sharply defined brow were eyes that looked at everyone as though they were dogs.
His thin lips were a vivid rose red, their shape at once affectionate and heartless.
Someone like this, someone like this...
Fu Huai chuckled. It was precisely someone like this who could make him willingly stay by his side.
A-Xiao was very charming.
He only had to stand there to draw bees and butterflies with ease, like moths rushing into a flame!
By the time they arrived at the birthday banquet, almost everyone was there.
Several finger marks still lingered on Lu Keyan's face.
Gu Xiao's brows involuntarily drew together.
They reminded him of the marks on his thighs.
"Is anyone still missing?"
Gu Xiao's gaze lingered on Lu Keyan's face for only a few seconds before quickly moving away.
Hearing this, Fu Huai paused. "A-Xiao, who do you want to come?"
Aisili Noble Academy had ten thousand students in its university division alone.
Those ten thousand were young masters and young ladies from around the world, and at most a thousand could attend Gu Xiao's birthday banquet.
Who was A-Xiao looking for?
"Nothing."
Naturally, Gu Xiao also knew that finding that outrageously brazen dog would not be so easy.
He casually picked up a glass of wine and drained it.
It tasted quite good, not unpleasant at all.
"A-Xiao, don't drink so much," Fu Huai could not help advising. "You don't have much of a tolerance."
Gu Xiao had not known his alcohol tolerance was poor. After all, he had hardly drunk since coming to this world.
"In that case-" Gu Xiao looked at Lu Keyan, who had been staring at him all along, curled his lips at him, and beckoned. "Let him drink for me."
