Crocodile God Soton

"Bullets that slow think they can hit me? In your wildest-"

Before the armored warrior could finish, the explosive rounds curved and blasted him to pieces on the spot. Even as he died, the guy had never imagined those bullets had automatic tracking! With the supercomputer's support, Qilin's gene engine had calculated every detail of the armored warrior's movement and evasion routes.

"Xiaolun, Liu Chuang, cover me! Zhao Xin, go support Qiangwei. I'll help you expose the flagship's energy shield. You should be able to pass through it using a wormhole!"

"Okay! Sister Na, where are you?" Ge Xiaolun asked, utterly bewildered.

"Above your head! Hurry up and save me!" Rena watched Monkey Brother freeloading and seethed. She was a mage! With two armored warriors in melee range, how the hell was she supposed to fight? Besides, only a little of his drained energy had recovered. She really wasn't slacking off this time!

"Coming!" Xiaolun kicked off the ground, shooting upward and tackling an armored warrior. They crashed into a high-rise together. Less than three seconds later, Ge Xiaolun was kicked back out.

The beating fired up Ge Xiaolun's fighting spirit too. Though he was no match for the armored warrior before him, he was like an unkillable cockroach, getting knocked away over and over, then lunging back in.

"I refuse to believe I can't kill you!" Thoroughly fed up, the armored warrior seized Ge Xiaolun as he lunged over and snapped his neck with both hands.

Ge Xiaolun immediately collapsed limply to the ground, then got back up, shaking his head, only to have a Flame-Class Weapon pierce his body.

"Chuangzi, I've got him pinned!" Ge Xiaolun shouted, clinging to the armored warrior. Monkey Brother also chose that moment to knock away the armored warrior who had been trading blows evenly with Liu Chuang.

"Coming!" Liu Chuang made a war god's leap and cleaved the armored warrior in two with his axe just as he broke free of Ge Xiaolun.

Seeing that Qiangwei had already slipped beneath the flagship, Rena hurriedly fired an energy blast. Qiangwei flew through a wormhole and appeared inside the energy shield.

"Saturation bombardment authorized!" The South Sea Fleet's countless guns fired in unison, all blasting into the sky before Qiangwei transported their fire over to her side. For a time, the flagship was engulfed in shellfire.

"One left. How do we handle it?"

"Leave it to me. It's been ages since I stretched my muscles." Monkey Brother leaped up, and countless clones surrounded the flagship. As his Ruyi Jingu Bang kept growing, he shattered the flagship's shield with a single blow. Countless clones swarmed in and tore the flagship straight into scrap.

"Why do I feel like something's off?" Liu Chuang scratched his head in confusion as he watched Monkey Brother display his might.

The strongest in their team were Lin Ran, Rena, and Monkey Brother. Now that they had seen Monkey Brother's strength, they began questioning Lin Ran. As the team's big brother, how had he been taken out right at the start?

"Where's Brother Ran? Have you seen him?"

"I'm here. Whew-that God-Slaying No. 1 nearly killed me."

Rena and Monkey Brother couldn't help rolling their eyes. It hadn't even hit him. Alarmed by Lin Ran's words, Qilin leaped down from the high-rise, ran to his side, and supported his arm.

Lin Ran rubbed against Qilin's body, but her armor dug into him uncomfortably, so he removed it in dissatisfaction. Now he could feel her soft body.

"I'm so tired." Lin Ran wrapped an arm around Qilin's waist and buried his face against her neck, breathing in her scent.

Qilin blushed but said nothing.

Once Monkey Brother had dealt with the remaining flagship, Lin Ran and the others flew back to base. This battle had beaten the ignorant arrogance out of the Taotie and shown them that someone on Earth could put them in their place. Even if they brought their flagships to Earth, they still couldn't gnaw through this tough bone.

Television broadcasts also began publicizing Earth's invincible force to reassure the public, while Du Kao ordered Qiangwei and Jess to start seeking out a second batch of Super Soldiers.

On the second day after regular training resumed, Lin Ran received a call from the queen, asking him to accompany her to Mars on an errand. Lin Ran chuckled. He would get to meet that crocodile.

The Taotie were certainly quick to ask for help. The moment they discovered they couldn't conquer Earth, they had gone straight to Liang Bing.

"I'm heading out on an errand. See you." Lin Ran waved to Qilin, then stepped into a wormhole and arrived beside Liang Bing.

"Huh? Why are you wearing that ugly look again?" Lin Ran looked disdainfully at Liang Bing's Demon Queen form.

"If you think it's ugly, just don't look. Admittedly, I don't really fit your Earthlings' tastes right now."

The two followed the Taotie to Mars and saw Crocodile God Soton feasting. Lin Ran's expression turned cold. The Azure Heaven War Halberd appeared instantly in his hand, and a streak of azure light flashed. Both of Soton's claws fell to the ground, severed at their roots. Soton was actually eating people, something Lin Ran did not want to see.

Just as Crocodile God Soton felt himself about to resist, a curtain of heaven pressed down on him. Even making his consciousness function became difficult, let alone dodging Lin Ran's attack.

"What are you doing?! He's going to be one of my most capable generals!"

"Have him change his diet. Pigs, sheep, whatever. But if I catch him eating people again, I'll slaughter him," Lin Ran said evenly, looking at Liang Bing.

"All right, all right, I get it!" Meeting Lin Ran's gaze, Liang Bing couldn't help backing down.

"Are you-enemies?" Crocodile God Soton stood there and asked helplessly. His severed arms actually wouldn't reattach, nor could they regenerate! How the hell was he supposed to fight? Before the battle had even begun, he had already lost ninety-nine percent of his fighting power!

"Hmm? There's something strange about that weapon of yours." Liang Bing noticed Soton's condition too and turned to examine the Azure Heaven War Halberd in Lin Ran's hand.

"No looking!" Lin Ran put it away at once, making Liang Bing grit her teeth in anger.

"You've heard of Gene Weapons, right? They can pass straight through a God Body and damage its gene system hidden in the Dark Plane."

"Did I hear that right? You're telling me your weapon is a Gene Weapon, something that only exists in theory?" Liang Bing was shocked again. The concept of Gene Weapons had been proposed long ago, but a true Gene Weapon had never appeared. Void Weapons and God-Slaying Weapons only counted as half a Gene Weapon. That alone showed how terrifying weapons capable of genetic strikes were. Just brushing the edges of that capability was enough for a weapon to call itself a God-Slaying Weapon!

"Yep. This is my exclusive weapon. Want a look?"

"No!" Liang Bing turned her head away haughtily.

"Hey, you two, could you pay some attention to me?!"

Lin Ran beckoned, and Azure Heaven began repairing Soton's severed arms. Under Soton's astonished gaze, his severed arms reattached to his body.

"Why can you do it when I can't?" Soton waved his hands and sat down on the ground, puzzled.

"Keep him in line. If anything happens, you'll have to take the blame for him!" Lin Ran told Liang Bing, then stepped into a wormhole and left.

Liang Bing punched and kicked at the spot where Lin Ran had vanished, only for him to unexpectedly return. She hurriedly stopped her childish behavior and looked at him questioningly.

"Queen, do I get paid for working for you?"

"Huh? Money? You need that stuff?"

"I do! Pay whatever you think is fair. I'm telling you honestly, if I get paid, I really do the work."

Liang Bing beckoned, and a large chest of gold appeared before Lin Ran.

"Is this enough? I've got more if it isn't!"

"Where'd you get it? Rob someone?"

"I didn't steal it. Those Taotie did. I just robbed them while I was at it."

"All right, call me if you need anything." Lin Ran put away the gold and sold it after returning. Over ninety million was deposited into Qilin's bank account.

Once Liang Bing was certain Lin Ran wouldn't return again this time, she plopped down beside Soton.

"I have a dream. Can you help me achieve it?" Soton looked at Liang Bing with his huge, mascara-ad eyes.

"What dream? Let's hear it."

"I want to rule the world!"

"And then?"

"There's no then."

"How big is your world?"

"The Nile River Basin. Um... there's... there's... no... no... no... I also want the Danube River, the Rhine River, the Yellow River, and the Yangtze River. That's all. Just those!"

"Heh, your world is too small."

"I'm from Earth. I'm different from you lot. I only want that little bit of stuff on our planet."

"Then you can't have the Yangtze River or the Yellow River."

"Why?"

"Can you leave a little for me?"

"All right. I wasn't planning on those at first anyway."

"Can you call me big sister?"

"Big sister!"

A smile touched Liang Bing's lips, and her gaze grew considerably gentler.

"No more eating people from now on, okay? I can't keep that man from earlier in line!"

"All right, I'll change my diet, then."

Lin Ran returned to base and lay on the roof to bask in the sun. Rena had taken Ge Xiaolun and the others out to train, so there was no one to disturb him.
