Chapter Summaries

Jiang Xiaofeng awakened in The Chasm as a Beheaded after a moss-like organism possessed a Treasure Hoarder, and the Dead Cells System granted him powerful starter abilities. After defeating an attacker and letting the others flee, he examined his enhanced equipment and realized how powerful it was.

• A moss-like mass attacked the strongest Treasure Hoarder, transformed his body, and awakened Jiang Xiaofeng's consciousness.
• The Dead Cells System integrated with Jiang Xiaofeng and gave him Ripper Aura, Wings of the Crow, Hattori's Katana Gauntlets, and the Heart of Ice mutation.
• Treasure Hoarders attacked Jiang Xiaofeng, but Ripper Aura tore apart the charging fat man and deflected the others' weapons.
• Jiang Xiaofeng told the remaining Treasure Hoarders to leave, then frightened the crossbowman into fleeing by throwing a blade.

Jiang Xiaofeng fought through monsters in The Chasm and forced an Abyss Mage to carry him toward a route back to the surface. After reaching the Underground Waterway, he was suddenly attacked by someone wielding a blue-black greatsword.

• Jiang Xiaofeng realized he was in The Chasm and began killing monsters to activate his system.
• Jiang Xiaofeng rushed at an Abyss Mage, got frozen, then broke free and used Tornadic Aura to destroy its Cryo shield.
• Jiang Xiaofeng demanded that the Abyss Mage carry him through a nearby sinkhole toward the surface, but the mage claimed not to know the way.
• The Abyss Mage tried to abandon Jiang Xiaofeng in flight, so Jiang Xiaofeng reached the Underground Waterway alone and smashed a strange purple door.

Jiang Xiaofeng collected enough cells to briefly awaken the system, which gave him a Spatial Backpack and a Cursed Sword he could safely store. Trapped in The Chasm without the Traveler, he gathered cells, found a way to the surface, and left the Treasure Hoarders he had defeated in the care of others.

• Jiang Xiaofeng defeated two Black Serpents, thanked them for the cells, and triggered the system’s awakening by discarding a purple bead.

• Jiang Xiaofeng flew down to a wooden house, crashed through it, and knocked a Treasure Hoarder through the door.

• Jiang Xiaofeng caught and absorbed a blue cell, then jumped into a pit and found a Geo Archon Oculus.
