The zombie was incredibly fast, its arms stiff as it leaped upwards, narrowly avoiding Jiang Nuo's red rope. Its pale, stiff nose twitched, displaying an unusual ferocity.
"Hey!"
Simazi instinctively pulled out his ancestral zombie-fighting artifact from his tattered bag. " A Wu! Come quick and help!"
"Father's here."
Despite being terrified, A Wu rushed forward without hesitation.
Seeing Simazi make his move, Jiang Nuo tied the red rope around himself, remained still, and squatted down next to the coffin with Si Yan, peeking out to watch how Simazi would kill the zombie.
Song Zheng grabbed Zhang Lin and dodged, astonished, "This zombie isn't afraid of bullets!"
"Zombies that have cultivated themselves are not afraid of bullets," Jiang Nuo said, "Let alone this one... is it a hairy zombie or a flying zombie?"
He hesitated for a moment, then turned to Si Yan and asked, "I can't tell how old this zombie is."
Is his eyesight really starting to fail?
"This isn't a naturally cultivated zombie," Si Yan said in a deep voice. "Similar to the methods used to raise Blood Corpse in the basement of the coffin shop, this is an artificially bred zombie, possessing all the characteristics that would make it deadly."
"Hiss..."
Jiang Nuo scratched his ear. "This is tricky. If you ask me, we should just blow it up."
He should be at home sleeping with Si Yan right now!
Simazi clearly had a way of dealing with zombies. He flicked out the ink line and threw it to A Wu. The two of them quickly entangled the zombie. The brothers didn't dare to breathe and hid on the other side of the coffin, trembling with fear.
The ink lines bound the zombie's body, slowing its movements considerably. The zombie struggled, its murky pupils scanning the intruders, drool dripping from its mouth onto the ink lines, instantly producing a corrosive sizzling sound.
"Not good!"
Just as he caught his breath, Simazi was furious and shocked. "This zombie can corrode ink lines!"
" A Wu! Bring me the fire starter!"
A Wu pulled a fire stick from his tattered bag and threw it to Simazi, but luckily, it was immediately corroded and broken by the saliva of the zombie that had broken free of the ink line.
"Dad!! Watch out!" A Wu shouted.
"Ugh!"
When the zombie poked Simazi in the stomach, he was thrown backward with a jolt. He reacted quickly, sprang to his feet, and stumbled back several steps.
"Damn it, I refuse to believe I can't beat a little zombie like you!"
He pulled out a palm-sized mirror, spat on it to wipe away the dust, bit his middle finger to draw blood, and ran a few steps to aim at the zombie.
"What... what is this for?" Song Zheng was confused. "Is this also a magic weapon?"
Si Yan: "Mirrors are the essence of metal and water, bright inside and dark outside. With yang blood as a guide, they can indeed subdue zombies."
As soon as he finished speaking, the zombie raised its hand and hopped backward, but it was not affected at all. Like the ink line, it had some effect but not much effect.
"This...!"
Simazi was horrified, already exhausted and panting on his knees, "Why isn't it working yet!"
" Simazi! Are you sure you can handle this?!" Da Zhu shouted. "If you can't, let Boss Jiang do it!"
Simazi spat fiercely, rubbing his hands together, "Grandpa, this is the business my ancestors made, how could I possibly lose face here!"
"Zombie, take this!"
He pulled out a peach wood sword from somewhere; the blade was extremely old and the hilt was stained with blood, clearly indicating that it had been passed down for a long time, and the sword aura was chilling and contained killing intent.
Jiang Nuo leaned against the coffin, resting her chin on her hand. "This reminds me of someone I used to know."
Knowing what Jiang Nuo was thinking, Si Yan said quietly, "The last time we saw Wu Chou was half a month ago at the association."
"Really?" Jiang Nuo chuckled. "We're so in sync!"
The two didn't seem to be in a hurry at all. Seeing this, Song Zheng quickly told them about his conversation with Zhang Lin.
"There's more than one person cursed by a vengeful ghost." Jiang Nuo pondered this statement carefully, then turned back to ask, "How are you sure Simazi knows about this?"
Zhang Lin pursed his dry lips, glanced at his brothers huddled together, and spoke in a low voice.
"I know the real thing is beneath the fake mural, that's what Simazi said. He also said I'm the cursed one, but... I'm not sure if he was telling me directly, or telling me about my brother in disguise."
"Because the Simazi of that time wasn't the Simazi who made me impersonate my brother."
Jiang Nuo: "..."
That's quite a convoluted statement.
Jiang Nuo touched her left eye, pondering to herself, then asked, "Who do you think this Simazi is now?"
Zhang Lin glanced at it again. "It should be Simazi, the one who told me about the fake mural, not the one who asked me to impersonate him."
That makes sense. The Simazi outside deliberately lured people in, and the Simazi inside knew about ghosts and coffin legends, and had a better relationship with A Wu.
Si Yan suddenly pressed down on Jiang Nuo's shoulder without saying a word, gesturing for him to look to the other side.
The people who had disturbed them during their break started making moves again.
Its eyes turned black, and it raised its head ferociously, as if to bite the person next to it.
Jiang Nuo formed a spell with one hand, activating the curse within them, " Ghost Killing, Annihilate."
He spoke coldly, his fingers suddenly tightening.
"Well!"
Old Xu had already turned into a ghost, suddenly transformed back into human form, and the others were thrown heavily to the ground.
" Old Xu! What's wrong with you guys?!"
Old Xu rolled his eyes, pointed at Jiang Nuo, and his voice seemed to be squeezed out of his throat, "Him!"
"He did it...!"
" Old Xu!!"
