Background / History
Family Loss and Administrative Work
Fū lost both parents to war. His father died on the battlefield against the Senju when Fū was 14, shortly after sending him news. The loss caused Fū to withdraw emotionally and triggered his advancement to the Three-Tomoe Sharingan. He eventually emerged from that isolation, retaining a strong desire to become powerful enough to avenge his parents 36 100.
Despite that ambition, Fū recognized that management was his particular strength. He handled administrative work within the clan before becoming responsible for Uchiha Village’s affairs. When Takashi requested population and production figures, Fū quickly produced a report that excluded false declarations and concealed information 21 36.
Developing Uchiha Village
Fū helped organize the village’s settlement and agricultural expansion, reporting on farming tools, land clearance, and preparations for the police force. Takashi also tasked him with recruiting willing residents from nearby impoverished villages to provide the manpower needed to develop Uchiha land 23 24.
While investigating an abandoned iron mine to the south, Fū became involved in the operation to seize its bandit-occupied camp. He commanded roughly a dozen Uchiha, dividing them between an assault group and a perimeter force. The camp fell quickly, but his subordinates killed its leader before questioning him, prompting an angry reprimand 34 35.
During the search, Fū discovered Tsukina Fujiwara imprisoned in a storehouse. After she stumbled while following him, he carried her out tucked under one arm. He returned with her and the surviving prisoners, then helped establish a production area at the mine 35 36 38.
Appointment as First Elder
When the senior elders prepared to retire, Fū worried that he was too young and lacked the combat experience and strength expected of the First Elder. Takashi supported his appointment specifically because the position required someone capable of overseeing the clan’s many administrative responsibilities 55.
Fū was formally named the new Grand Elder alongside Yukimichi Uchiha’s appointment as Second Elder. He continued managing Uchiha Village while holding the elder’s office, leaving him responsible for both village administration and clan duties 56 91.
As acting village chief, he inspected the streets, familiarized himself with residents, and instructed the Guard Force to enforce village laws equally. His hostility toward the Senju remained pronounced: at the iron mine, he taunted the captive Yuki Senju with news that Takashi had killed her father, Tsuru Senju. Only Takashi’s explicit prohibition prevented Fū from killing her 76 77.
Courtship and Marriage
Fū’s workload became severe enough that he went five days without sleeping. Tsukina urged him to rest, but he insisted that serving the clan justified his exhaustion. Takashi subsequently proposed using the Fujiwara retainers’ administrative skills to reduce his burden 92 93.
Tsukina confessed by giving him a necklace intended for her future husband. Fū initially assumed she wanted him to safeguard it, then offered to deliver it to the man she loved. Once he understood her intentions, he struggled to recognize his own feelings until Takashi asked him to imagine her marrying someone else. His immediate objection helped him realize that he liked her 94 95 96.
After accepting her confession, Fū accompanied Tsukina when she announced their relationship to Junji Fujiwara and declared her intention to join the Uchiha. Fū angrily challenged Junji’s disparaging remarks about the clan 97.
The couple quickly decided to marry. Takashi arranged their wedding at Naka Shrine, and Fū proudly showed Tsukina around the clan grounds upon their arrival. Their engagement astonished acquaintances who knew him for avoiding romance. At the ceremony, the normally capable administrator became so nervous that Kyō Uchiha had to help him finish thanking the guests 99 100 101.
Senior Leadership
Fū continued supporting Takashi’s development projects, including selecting capable Shimura and Hyuga recruits for research work and following up on expanded garlic cultivation 125 129.
During a visit to headquarters, he accepted Yukimichi’s invitation to spar. Their evenly matched contest escalated through swordplay, taijutsu, genjutsu, and elemental techniques. Both exhausted much of their chakra before their simultaneous Majestic Destroyer Flames collided and exploded. Takashi stopped them from continuing and voided their bet 144 145 146.
Fū later attended the leadership briefing on the Land of Light’s new government, which separated national administration from internal clan management. During the Uchiha Great Purge debate, he supported removing the identified offenders despite the loss of military strength, arguing that subordinated clans could also supply battlefield manpower 146 153.
When the leadership discussed a campaign against domestic criminal forces, Fū emphasized the manpower required rather than opposing the operation. He objected to Takashi personally holding the Senju front because of the danger to the country’s sovereign, but accepted the arrangement and promised to complete the campaign within a little over two months 211.
Appearance
- General appearance: Described as handsome, contributing to his popularity among women within the clan 99.
- Eyes: Possesses the Three-Tomoe Sharingan 55 94.
- Signs of overwork: Appears with enormous dark circles, unsteady footing, and a visibly drained expression during his prolonged sleeplessness 92.
Personality
Fū is intensely devoted to the Uchiha Clan. He treats service as an honor, takes pleasure in the village’s growing prosperity, and reacts angrily to insults against the clan. That dedication can become self-destructive: he dismisses concern for his health even when visibly exhausted 76 92 93 97.
His administrative confidence contrasts with insecurity about his combat qualifications. Before accepting the First Elder position, he openly questioned whether his strength justified the appointment. He is also willing to acknowledge shortcomings and learn from Takashi’s planning 34 55.
In romance, Fū is literal-minded, inexperienced, and easily embarrassed. Although he had admirers, he previously insisted that women would hinder his pursuit of strength. Tsukina came to value his consideration and attachment to others, while their courtship exposed how poorly he understood romantic signals 36 94 95 96.
His concern for order does not erase his clan-centered ruthlessness. He demands equal enforcement of village law, yet expresses deep hatred toward the Senju and accepts sacrificing other clans’ manpower for Uchiha interests 76 153.
Abilities & Skills
Administration and Logistics
Fū is one of the clan’s scarce specialists capable of combining military strength with effective management. Takashi regards him as particularly suited to coordinating the Uchiha’s affairs 55 58.

- Coordinates farming tools, land development, settlement, and village policing preparations 23 24.
- Oversees iron-mining development and inspects production 38 76.
- Verifies the identities of incoming Fujiwara retainers and arranges their accommodation 92.

- Attempts to use genjutsu to discreetly signal Takashi while seeking an escape from Tsukina’s confession 95.

Elemental Ninjutsu
Fū demonstrates Fire, Lightning, Earth, and Wind Release during his duel with Yukimichi 145.
| Nature | Technique / Application | Demonstrated Use |
|---|---|---|
| Fire | Majestic Destroyer Flame | Releases a large stream of flame; later sustains it with continued chakra input against Yukimichi’s matching technique 145. |

- Limit: Repeated large-scale techniques substantially drain his chakra. His final exchange with Yukimichi becomes a contest of remaining reserves 145.
Swordsmanship and Taijutsu
