Arc 3War and the Six-Tails

Didaze’s attacks on Kirigakure helped trigger a war between Iwagakure and the Cloud and Mist alliance, ending in Iwagakure’s capture of the Six-Tails and Didaze becoming its jinchūriki. As the Five Kage Summit was arranged, Didaze and Ōnoki plotted to give Iwagakure’s Sharingan to Hiruzen Sarutobi to win his support and deepen tensions with the Uchiha Clan.

  • Tsunade drove Danzō’s Root forces from the Uchiha Compound, while Didaze returned to Iwagakure with Sakyū and secured the Puppet Technique for the village.
  • Didaze attacked Kirigakure with clay bombs, destroyed much of the village, and stole three Ninja Blades, which he later gave to Iwagakure.
  • The Third Raikage and Third Mizukage formed an alliance against Iwagakure, and Didaze and Ōnoki led Iwagakure’s forces into battle against them.
  • Didaze’s attacks helped Iwagakure capture the Three-Tails and Six-Tails Jinchūriki, while the Third Mizukage withdrew and the Third Raikage eventually ordered Kumogakure to retreat.
  • Didaze and Ōnoki sealed the Six-Tails inside Didaze with help from Nanako Uzumaki and Karen, and Didaze later made peace with the tailed beast Saiken.
  • The Third Mizukage called a Five Kage Summit, and the Kage of the Five Great Shinobi Villages agreed to attend after Yagura reached Konoha and Hiruzen Sarutobi welcomed Orochimaru back.
  • Didaze proposed giving Iwagakure’s Sharingan to Hiruzen Sarutobi to gain his support and worsen tensions between him and the Uchiha Clan, and Ōnoki ordered the transfer.
Chapters 51–75 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 51The Uchiha's Gratitude

Tsunade stopped Shimura Danzō’s Root forces from attacking the Uchiha Clan and drove him away after he tried to accuse her of betraying Konoha. Meanwhile, Didaze returned to Iwagakure with Sakyū and the others to report that they had acquired the Puppet Technique.

  • Tsunade beat back Root and told the Uchiha Clan members to stay out of the fight so Danzō could not use their actions against them.
  • Danzō accused Tsunade of planning to defect with the Uchiha Clan, but Nawaki spat on him and mocked him from behind Tsunade.
  • Tsunade released her Yin Seal and struck Danzō, forcing him to order Root to retreat from the Uchiha Compound.
  • Uchiha Fugaku thanked Tsunade and offered her free goods from the clan’s businesses, but she told the Uchiha to seek her help if they faced further unfair treatment.
  • Didaze returned to Iwagakure with Sakyū and the others, threatened Sakyū to ensure he taught properly, and prepared to report their acquisition of the Puppet Technique to the Tsuchikage.

Ch. 52Preparing to Head to Kirigakure

Didaze returned to Iwagakure with Ōiwa and Sakyū, who offered to teach the village the Puppet Technique. After hearing Didaze’s report about Kakuzu, Ōnoki sent him on an S-rank mission to Kirigakure to negotiate over Kusagakure, with orders to bomb the village if negotiations failed.

  • Didaze flew his companions back to the Tsuchikage Building on the Clay Giant Bird.
  • Sakyū offered to teach Iwagakure the Puppet Technique, and Ōnoki ordered Ōiwa imprisoned and arranged for Sakyū to train a puppet squad.
  • Didaze told Ōnoki that Kakuzu had claimed to fight Hashirama Senju, but that Didaze had defeated him and taken four of his hearts.
  • Ōnoki assigned Didaze an S-rank mission to discuss Kusagakure with the Mizukage and ordered him to bomb Kirigakure if it refused.

Ch. 53Kakuzu's Chance Encounter with Orochimaru

Didaze accepted Ōnoki’s Dust Release cultivation notes and planned to leave for Kirigakure the next morning. Meanwhile, Kakuzu and a recovering Orochimaru mistook each other for Kusagakure’s leader and fought before Kakuzu escaped, leaving Orochimaru to search the village for another body.

  • Ōnoki gave Didaze his Dust Release cultivation notes, and Didaze thanked him before leaving to rest.
  • Kakuzu searched the Land of Grass for Kusagakure ninja, killed a civilian, and sensed a powerful chakra presence.
  • Orochimaru, recovering at home and seeking a new body, sensed Kakuzu and went to confront him.
  • Kakuzu and Orochimaru attacked each other, each hoping to take the other’s heart or body, and fought to a standstill.
  • Kakuzu sacrificed two hearts to injure Orochimaru’s leg, but Orochimaru shed his damaged body and emerged anew.
  • Kakuzu escaped using Earth Release walls and terrain, while Orochimaru abandoned the chase and went to find Kusagakure ninja.

Ch. 54The Jashin statue

Orochimaru found Kusagakure destroyed and headed for Takigakure to seek a body, while Didaze traveled toward Kirigakure but ended up in Yugakure. After killing a Jashin devotee and destroying a statue, Didaze stole Yugakure’s leader’s powerful heirloom statue, provoking the village.

  • Orochimaru discovered a huge crater where Kusagakure had been and found a remnant of a Kusagakure forehead protector.
  • Orochimaru abandoned his plan to find a body in the Land of Grass and set out for Takigakure.
  • Didaze flew from Iwagakure toward Kirigakure, but his Shadow Clone found Yugakure instead.
  • Didaze killed a Jashin worshipper who confronted him and shattered the nearby Jashin statue.
  • Didaze flew to central Yugakure and snatched the powerful heirloom Jashin statue from the village leader.
  • Yugakure’s leader called for the villagers to attack Didaze.

Ch. 55Attacking Kirigakure

Didaze infiltrated Kirigakure disguised as a shinobi and blew up the Mizukage Building after Yagura attacked him. He then revealed himself above the village and began diving toward the Third Mizukage on his explosive dragon.

  • Didaze reached the Land of Water and sent his shadow clone ahead with explosive clay to Kirigakure.
  • Didaze's shadow clone asked local fishermen for directions, then entered Kirigakure under a transformation and genjutsu.
  • Didaze claimed to be an Iwagakure envoy, but Yagura attacked him with a Water Dragon Bullet Technique.
  • Didaze detonated the clay bomb, destroying the Mizukage Building and killing the Anbu, while the Third Mizukage shielded Yagura.
  • The Third Mizukage decided to ally with Kumogakure against Iwagakure, but Didaze appeared overhead on a diving C2: Dragon.

Ch. 56Bombardment from Ten Thousand Meters Up

Didaze used the Third Mizukage’s counterattack as an opening to fly ten thousand meters above Kirigakure and bombard the village with expanding clay bombs. The Third Mizukage organized an evacuation and tried to intercept the falling bombs while Didaze sent a Shadow Clone down to experience the explosions firsthand.

  • The Third Mizukage’s water techniques slowed Didaze’s attacks, but Didaze blinded him with a flash bomb and struck his clay bird with water jets, sending him falling.
  • Didaze summoned a C2: Dragon, flew ten thousand meters into the sky, and began dropping expanding clay bombs over Kirigakure.
  • Yagura returned with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the Hozuki Clan head, the Yuki Clan head, and the Six-Tails Jinchuriki, but the Third Mizukage ordered the ninja evacuated and the bombs intercepted.
  • Didaze turned a Shadow Clone infused with Explosion Release chakra into a clay bomb and sent it down to detonate so he could experience the blast.

Ch. 57The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist Wiped Out

Didaze attacked the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and destroyed them with an enormous explosive doll, devastating part of Kirigakure. When the Third Mizukage charged in to recover their weapons, Didaze seized three Ninja Blades and retreated into the sky.

  • Didaze descended toward the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and cut Nuibari with Wind Release while using a Lightning Release sphere to draw in the Lightning Blade's strikes.
  • Didaze dodged Hiramekarei and let its wielder smash the expanding Number 18, whose cracks prompted the swordsmen to realize something was wrong.
  • Didaze detonated Number 18, destroying nearly a fifth of Kirigakure and apparently wiping out the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
  • The Third Mizukage charged into the blast zone to recover the Ninja Blades, while Didaze sent explosive birds and his Giant Dragon after him.
  • Didaze grabbed the Exploding Blade Shibuki, Kabutowari, and Hiramekarei, then retreated into the sky as the Third Mizukage attacked with a massive Water Release technique.

Ch. 58Return to the Village

Didaze returned to Iwagakure with three Ninja Blades and had Karen sever their summoning connections with the Contract Seal. The Third Mizukage learned the blades could no longer be summoned back and prepared for war with Kumogakure.

  • Didaze rejected the black mist offered by the statue of Jashin, then sealed the statue away again.
  • The Third Mizukage ordered Yagura to find new successors for the four remaining Ninja Blades and contact Kumogakure to start a war.
  • Didaze returned to Iwagakure and brought the three stolen Ninja Blades to Karen to cut off their summoning connections.
  • Karen used the Contract Seal on all three Ninja Blades, allowing Didaze to take them out safely.
  • The Third Mizukage sensed that his connection to the Ninja Blades had been severed and resolved to fight the war.

Ch. 59Distributing the Ninja Blades

Didaze brought three Ninja Blades to Ōnoki and gave them to Iwagakure, suggesting who should test each one. He received the Scroll of Seals and left to study Mū’s techniques, while Ōnoki ordered him back to repair the window he broke.

  • Didaze had Karen seal the scroll containing the statue of Jashin with ten layers of B-rank Sealing Jutsu.
  • Didaze presented the Blast Sword, Hiramekarei, and Blunt Sword to Ōnoki and gave them to the village for free.
  • Didaze suggested giving the Blast Sword to the Explosion Release Corps, Hiramekarei to a tailed beast’s jinchūriki, and the Blunt Sword to Kitsuchi or Kōdo.
  • Ōnoki rewarded Karen with an S-rank mission and five million ryō, then gave Didaze the Scroll of Seals so he could study Mū’s techniques.
  • Ōnoki told Kōdo to summon the jinchūriki and Explosion Release Corps for a weapons trial the next morning.
  • Didaze burst through the office window as he left, and Ōnoki shouted for him to return and fix it.

Ch. 60The Ninja Blades Found Their Owners

Ōnoki oversaw trials to assign the ninja blades, and Han demonstrated Hiramekarei’s overwhelming power against Roshi’s fully manifested Four-Tails. After the new wielders were dismissed, Ōnoki led Didaze to Iwagakure’s cemetery.

  • Ōnoki had the Explosion Release Corps test the Exploding Blade Shibuki, then awarded it to Gari for drawing out the most power.
  • Kitsuchi and Kōdo tested Kabutowari against Han, and Ōnoki awarded the blade to Kōdo after his Steel Release defense proved effective.
  • Roshi declined to try Hiramekarei, so Ōnoki asked him to release the Four-Tails for Han to fight.
  • Han entered Perfect Steam Mode and enlarged Hiramekarei to fifty meters, striking the Four-Tails down and leaving Roshi unconscious.
  • Ōnoki ordered Roshi taken to the hospital, dismissed the new blade wielders, and led Didaze to Iwagakure’s cemetery.

Ch. 61Secrets in the Grave

Ōnoki took Didaze to the Second Tsuchikage’s grave and retrieved hidden training manuals for two difficult Ninjutsu, while Didaze prepared to learn them before war began. Elsewhere, Kakuzu devastated Takigakure for hearts and bounties, Orochimaru took a Jonin’s body, and Kumogakure considered Kirigakure’s proposal to fight Iwagakure.

  • Ōnoki and Didaze dug up the Second Tsuchikage’s grave and recovered a sealing scroll containing training pointers for the Splitting Technique and Dustless Bewildering Cover.
  • Didaze promised to learn both Ninjutsu before the war and went home to study Dustless Bewildering Cover.
  • Kakuzu killed four Jonin in Takigakure, including its leader, took their hearts and bodies, and left the village to mourn and bury them.
  • Orochimaru killed a male Jonin near Takigakure, took his body, and decided to return to Konoha.
  • The Third Raikage questioned Kirigakure’s sudden request for an alliance against Iwagakure, and its Anbu revealed that Iwagakure had invaded and stolen three Ninja Blades.

Ch. 62The alliance between Kumogakure and Kirigakure

The Third Raikage agreed to ally with Kirigakure and wage war against Iwagakure. Meanwhile, Didaze struggled to master Dustless Bewildering Cover before visiting Nanako Uzumaki and her new friends.

  • Dodai advised the Third Raikage to ally with Kirigakure, use their forces to get past Didaze's explosions, and attack Iwagakure.
  • The Third Raikage ordered Kumogakure's Anbu to arrange an alliance, and the Kumogakure and Kirigakure representatives agreed on a time and place to meet.
  • Didaze practiced Dustless Bewildering Cover and managed to make one arm invisible, while Ōnoki felt discouraged by Didaze's rapid progress.
  • Didaze went to the Ninja Academy and met Nanako Uzumaki with two of her friends.
  • One of Nanako Uzumaki's friends asked Didaze for an autograph, and he signed his name and the nickname "Bomb Maniac."

Ch. 63Adamantine Sealing Chains

Nanako Uzumaki revealed that she had learned the Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Didaze tested their strength while pointing out their speed was still lacking. Didaze then asked Karen to seal most of his chakra so he could train with only genin-level reserves.

  • Didaze accompanied Nanako Uzumaki to the Sealing Squad to check on her training, and she told him she had learned an A-rank Sealing Jutsu.
  • Nanako Uzumaki revealed to Karen that she had awakened the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
  • Nanako Uzumaki bound Didaze with the chains, but he broke free using Earth Release: Hardening Jutsu and judged that their power was strong while their speed remained inadequate.
  • Didaze asked Karen to seal his chakra down to genin-level reserves so he could train, and Karen prepared to do so.

Ch. 64The coming war

Didaze completed his chakra-sealing training and improved his Dustless Bewildering Cover as war approached. Iwagakure voted to march against the allied Kumogakure and Kirigakure forces, while the Third Raikage pressured the Third Mizukage into providing more troops and accepting a smaller share of the spoils.

  • Karen sealed Didaze's chakra for three days, and Didaze praised Nanako Uzumaki's progress before leaving to train.
  • Didaze used the temporary reduction in his chakra to make his right hand invisible with Dustless Bewildering Cover.
  • Ōnoki told Iwagakure's leaders that Kumogakure and Kirigakure were approaching, and the gathered officials unanimously voted to fight.
  • Ōnoki ordered Iwagakure to march out the next day, with Didaze serving as a higher-up with voting rights.
  • The Third Raikage and Yotsuki A met the Third Mizukage, who had brought fifteen hundred shinobi, and threatened to end their alliance.
  • The Third Mizukage agreed to send another thousand shinobi and give Kumogakure seventy percent of the spoils, and the Third Raikage accepted.

Ch. 65Ambushing the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces

Ōnoki and Didaze ambushed the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces from the sky as the armies converged at the Land of Earth's border. Their attack killed over a thousand ninja, and they hurried to escape before the surviving forces could retaliate.

  • Ōnoki rallied Iwagakure's eight thousand ninja and led them toward the border, leaving a quarter of the village's forces behind.
  • Didaze carried Ōnoki on his Clay Giant Bird, and the two spotted the approaching Cloud and Mist Allied Forces.
  • The Third Raikage and Third Mizukage ordered their troops to form ranks after a sensory ninja detected Iwagakure's army.
  • Didaze and Ōnoki flew high above the allied forces, then dove to launch a C3 No. 18 bomb and a Dust Release attack.
  • The attacks killed over a thousand allied ninja, while the Third Mizukage's Water Release failed to stop Ōnoki's Dust Release.
  • Ōnoki urged Didaze to retreat before the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces could attack them.

Ch. 66Hell Stab

Didaze left the ambush site, then used Dustless Bewildering Cover to hide among the Kirigakure ninja as the allied forces reached Iwagakure’s army. The battle began with the Third Raikage breaking through Iwagakure’s defenses and fighting Han, while Ōnoki intervened and the Third Raikage leaped toward him.

  • Didaze stopped attacking from the sky and returned to the Iwagakure army after killing roughly a thousand Cloud and Mist ninja, most of them from Kirigakure.
  • Didaze revealed that he had mastered Dustless Bewildering Cover, then went into hiding among the Kirigakure ninja so he could infiltrate Kumogakure’s ranks during the battle.
  • The Third Raikage led the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces against Iwagakure, pierced Kitsuchi’s Earth Style Walls with Four-Finger Nukite, and charged into the fight.
  • Han enlarged Hiramekarei and used Boil Release to clash with the Third Raikage, who gained the advantage with Two-Finger Nukite.
  • The Third Mizukage stopped Kitsuchi’s Mountain Earth Technique with Great Waterfall Technique, and Ōnoki forced the Third Raikage to retreat with Dust Release.
  • The Third Raikage ordered his forces to attack and leaped toward Ōnoki, who hurriedly tried to dodge.

Ch. 67The war reached fever pitch

Didaze infiltrated the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces and used a nanoscale bomb to kill hundreds, while the Third Raikage and Third Mizukage devastated Iwagakure’s formations. The battle escalated as the Five-Tails, Three-Tails, and Two-Tails entered the fight, with both armies in chaos.

  • Didaze hid among the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces with Dustless Bewildering Cover and detonated a nanoscale bomb that caused soldiers to explode.
  • Ōnoki struck at the distracted Third Raikage, vaporizing part of his hair, but the Third Raikage retaliated by smashing through Iwagakure’s Earth Style Walls.
  • Didaze fired a concealed Clay Bow and Arrow at the Third Mizukage, who blocked it before sweeping through Iwagakure’s troops with a Water Release attack.
  • Dodai ordered the Cloud and Mist Allied Forces to attack as Han transformed into the Five-Tails and charged their ranks.
  • Ōnoki diverted the Third Raikage from Han, and Dodai briefly held Han back with Rubber Wall while the Three-Tails and Two-Tails jinchūriki appeared on the battlefield.

Ch. 68Capturing the Three-Tails Jinchūriki

Didaze used the storm and a coordinated attack to break through the Three-Tails' defenses and capture its unconscious jinchūriki. He carried the captive away on a Clay Giant Bird, giving Ōnoki's side an early advantage in the war.

  • Han struggled to hold off the Three-Tails while the Two-Tails repeatedly attacked him.
  • Didaze summoned a Clay Giant Bird, used a Fire Style technique to bring on rain, and struck the Three-Tails with C3 No. 18.
  • Didaze's shadow clone placed a Giant Lightning Attraction Sphere on the Three-Tails, and Han leaped clear after the clone warned him to retreat.
  • Didaze hit the weakened Three-Tails with another C3 No. 18, breaking its armor and knocking its jinchūriki unconscious.
  • Didaze grabbed the unconscious Three-Tails Jinchūriki and flew away as Ōnoki celebrated the capture.

Ch. 69Seizing the Six-Tails

Didaze helped the Explosion Release Corps fight off Yagura and the Third Raikage, then created an opening to target the Six-Tails Jinchuriki and become its host. The Kirigakure sealing squad prepared to send Utakata into the battle, unaware that Didaze was coming for him.

  • Yagura used the Water Mirror Technique to copy Gari, but Didaze's splitting Nano Bombs destroyed the clone and Gari wounded Yagura with the Blast Sword.
  • The Third Raikage attacked the Explosion Release Corps, but Kōdo endured his Four-Finger Nukite with Steel Release and Hardening Jutsu.
  • Didaze turned invisible and sent a shadow clone to attack Yotsuki A, drawing the Third Raikage away from Kōdo and buying time.
  • The Kirigakure sealing squad, believing their forces were at a disadvantage, decided to send Utakata into the battle as he continued bawling.

Ch. 70C3. Enhanced Type. Invisible Number 18

Didaze captured Utakata and unleashed an invisible bomb on Kirigakure’s rear, devastating the village’s forces. With both Jinchūriki lost and the rear destroyed, the Third Mizukage ordered Kirigakure to retreat, blaming the Third Raikage for its losses.

  • Didaze took Utakata from the Sealing Squad captain and handed him, along with the unconscious Three-Tails Jinchūriki, to Kōdo.
  • The Third Raikage snapped Yotsuki A out of his confusion, and Yotsuki A rushed toward Kumogakure’s camp after hearing the Six-Tails Jinchūriki had been abducted.
  • Ōnoki kept the Third Mizukage under pressure with Dust Release while Didaze used his last chakra to launch an invisible bomb at Kirigakure’s rear.
  • The bomb destroyed Kirigakure’s rear and killed roughly five hundred ninja, adding to the village’s heavy losses.
  • After learning the Six-Tails had been captured, the Third Mizukage ordered Kirigakure to retreat and swore revenge on the Third Raikage.

Ch. 71An overwhelming victory

The Third Mizukage and Kirigakure fled the battlefield, forcing the Third Raikage to order Kumogakure’s retreat while he covered the rear. Didaze persuaded Ōnoki not to pursue, and after Iwagakure withdrew too, the Third Raikage mistook the retreat for a trap and rushed after his army.

  • The Third Mizukage fled with only seven or eight hundred Kirigakure ninja remaining, leaving the Third Raikage and Kumogakure to face Iwagakure alone.
  • Dodai asked whether Kumogakure should retreat, and the Third Raikage ordered his forces to withdraw while he held off pursuers.
  • Didaze convinced Ōnoki that killing the Third Raikage would cost Iwagakure too many men and risk future conflict with Kumogakure.
  • The Third Raikage waited for Iwagakure to attack as Kumogakure retreated, but Ōnoki eventually ordered Iwagakure’s army to withdraw as well.
  • After Iwagakure left the battlefield, the Third Raikage suspected Ōnoki had staged a diversion and rushed after his retreating army.

Ch. 72Becoming the Six-Tails Jinchuriki

After Iwagakure defeated Kumogakure’s forces, Didaze chose to become the Six-Tails Jinchuriki to overcome his chakra shortage. He sealed the Six-Tails inside himself with help from Nanako Uzumaki and Karen, while both women collapsed from the effort and were taken to the hospital.

  • The Third Raikage found Dodai and the main force unharmed, then ordered them to return after Iwagakure’s overwhelming victory.
  • Didaze told Ōnoki he wanted to become the Six-Tails Jinchuriki, and Ōnoki agreed to take responsibility for sealing it inside him.
  • Ōnoki imprisoned the Three-Tails Jinchūriki, and the next day Didaze released Utakata from the seal, allowing him to die painlessly as the Six-Tails emerged.
  • Didaze and Ōnoki attacked the Six-Tails, but its corrosive spray kept the Sealing Squad from approaching.
  • Nanako Uzumaki restrained the Six-Tails with Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Karen used the Four Symbols Seal to bind it.
  • Karen sealed the Six-Tails inside Didaze, then collapsed; Ōnoki carried Nanako to the hospital, and Didaze carried Karen there.

Ch. 73Sweet-Talking the Six-Tails

At the hospital, Didaze entered his mental space and persuaded Saiken, the Six-Tails, to trust him by telling her about the Sage of Six Paths and the coming threats. He helped Saiken move her consciousness into a miniature body and brought her outside, leaving Ōnoki astonished.

  • Ōnoki told Didaze that Nanako was recovering after using too much chakra and praised her for knowing the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
  • Didaze entered his mental space to confront the restless Six-Tails and learned that her name was Saiken.
  • Didaze claimed the Sage of Six Paths had warned him about Otsutsuki Kaguya, the Ten-Tails, and beings from beyond the heavens, and Saiken believed him after they bumped fists.
  • Didaze opened the seal and taught Saiken to move her consciousness into a miniature Six-Tails body.
  • Didaze returned from his mental space with miniature Saiken on his shoulder and told Ōnoki that they had made peace.

Ch. 74Kirigakure's Request for a Five Kage Summit

Didaze kept the Six-Tails’ miniature clone at home after Iwagakure celebrated its victory. Worried that Iwagakure had taken Kirigakure’s Tailed Beasts, the Third Mizukage called for a Five Kage Summit, and the Third Hokage agreed to attend.

  • Ōnoki questioned Didaze about reconciling with the Six-Tails, and Didaze refused to explain how it happened.
  • The Six-Tails introduced himself as Saiken, and Didaze settled his miniature clone in his home after Nanako and Karen recovered.
  • The Third Mizukage summoned a Five Kage Summit in the Land of Iron to address Iwagakure’s capture of the Six-Tails and to seek the return of Kirigakure’s three Ninja Blades.
  • Ōnoki agreed to attend, while the Third Mizukage sent an Anbu messenger to Kumogakure and Yagura to Konoha; Kumogakure beat up the messenger but agreed to come.
  • Yagura reached Konoha, where Uchiha clan members were guarding the gate and helping improve their clan’s reputation in support of Tsunade.
  • The Third Hokage read the Third Mizukage’s letter and agreed to attend the summit.

Ch. 75Orochimaru returned to Konoha

Orochimaru returned to Konoha, where Hiruzen Sarutobi welcomed him and saw a chance to strengthen his position. As the Five Kage Summit approached, Ōnoki and Didaze planned to give Konoha stolen Sharingan to drive a wedge between Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Uchiha Clan.

  • An Anbu reported Orochimaru's arrival, and Hiruzen Sarutobi hurried to the Konoha Gate to meet him.
  • Orochimaru offered no resistance as the guards verified his identity, and Hiruzen Sarutobi greeted him with a tearful display of joy.
  • Yagura notified the final village, and the Kage of the Five Great Shinobi Villages agreed to attend the Five Kage Summit.
  • Didaze proposed that Iwagakure give its Sharingan to Hiruzen Sarutobi in exchange for his support and to deepen tensions between him and the Uchiha Clan.
  • Ōnoki approved Didaze's plan and ordered an Anbu squad to take all the Sharingan to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
