History

Persecution in Konoha

After the Nine-Tails' rampage, Konoha's leadership subjected the Uchiha to suspicion, surveillance, and exclusion. The clan was moved to the village's outskirts, while the Military Police Force repeatedly lost authority. At the opening assembly, Utatane Koharu demanded that the clan disband half its police force, relinquish patrol rights in central districts, and publicly apologize 1.

Gen'yō rejected the ultimatum and announced that the entire clan would leave Konoha. His defeat of Koharu's Anbu escort won enthusiastic support among younger members, but conservative elders—especially Uchiha Shusa—initially feared that his actions would provoke the clan's destruction 1 2 3.

Leadership Change and Migration

Gen'yō proposed Iwagakure as a destination because it needed military strength and shared the Uchiha's hostility toward Konoha. He insisted that the clan would relocate as a partner rather than become dependent refugees. After confronting Fugaku, he assumed the clan's central seat and authority, with Fugaku accepting a subordinate position 3 4.

The evacuation prioritized every clansman and all portable wealth, including money, scrolls, medicines, and weapons. Itachi received responsibility for protecting the noncombatants. Gen'yō deliberately discouraged a suicidal charge through Konoha, arguing that even a victorious battle would needlessly sacrifice the clan's future 4 9 11 12.

Once the evacuation was complete, Gen'yō lured Hiruzen, Danzō, and their forces to the deserted compound and detonated a spatial array beneath it. He then reunited with more than a thousand clansmen in a secluded valley. The explosion destroyed the ancestral compound and, according to the aftermath account, more than one-fifth of Konoha 13 17.

Alliance with Iwagakure

Gen'yō offered Ōnoki intelligence identifying Root spies inside Iwagakure in exchange for territory, resources, and equal standing. After witnessing Gen'yō's strength and the hidden settlement of New Uchiha, Ōnoki pledged himself to the alliance. Gen'yō made clear that Iwagakure was needed to handle public affairs, not to protect the clan 23 28 29.

Resistance remained within Iwagakure's leadership. Its elders arranged an Explosion Corps ambush as a supposed welcoming test, which Gen'yō entrusted to Itachi, Izumi, and Hikari. Their performance forced Kitsuchi to acknowledge that the clan's strength greatly exceeded Iwagakure's expectations 41 42 43.

Sacred Land and Political Independence

Gen'yō claimed a newly created forest as the Uchiha Sacred Land and directed the construction of a city there. Ōnoki subsequently ordered the removal of hostile elders and publicly announced a blood alliance. Gen'yō's marriage to Ōnoki's granddaughter, Two Scales Akahoshi, reinforced that alliance through family ties 52 54 55 64.

Industrial development, population growth, and educational reform transformed the settlement into the center of the Uchiha Divine Kingdom. Gen'yō abolished the Main and Branch Family hierarchy and expanded access to resources according to talent rather than ancestry or parental rank 92 115.

Continental Expansion

The Divine Kingdom combined military force with economic pressure. Gen'yō imposed the Uchiha Ryō on the Land of Earth, while Kakuzu later reported control of 93% of the Land of Lightning's industries following a financial offensive 112 171.

When Kumogakure invaded with 30,000 ninja, Gen'yō chose a public demonstration of the kingdom's defenses rather than an orbital strike. Fugaku's army and Itachi's war puppets confronted the invasion, and the Divine Kingdom subsequently conquered the Land of Lightning in less than a day. Ōnoki publicly welcomed the returning army and declared Iwagakure's loyalty 151 155 158 180.

Confrontation with the Old Order

Danzō and Orochimaru later deployed reincarnated shinobi—including Fugaku and Shisui—against the Divine Kingdom. Gen'yō assigned the confrontation to the clan's children under Itachi's supervision, with orders to capture the ringleaders and target their inner circle 193 194 205 209.

The younger Uchiha overwhelmed elite missing-nin, but their confidence had limits: Hiruzen shattered Shō's defensive Susanoo and grievously wounded him. Itachi then confronted Hiruzen in a worldwide broadcast, accusing Konoha's leadership of persecution and complicity in the clan massacre 210 219 220.

Interstellar Preparations

Gen'yō revealed that the Ōtsutsuki treated the world as a source of Chakra Fruit. The system issued a ten-year mission to eliminate or subjugate the Ōtsutsuki Branch Family, master God Tree technology, and repair the world barrier. Gen'yō called for further population growth and began resurrecting Madara as part of the preparations 236 237.

In the finale, Itachi chooses to protect the homeland while Gen'yō pursues conquest and expansion. He encourages Sasuke to follow Gen'yō into the stars, and the clan's population continues increasing beyond 10,874 238.

Abilities and Military Doctrine

Sharingan and Advanced Dōjutsu

  • Three-Tomoe Sharingan: Provides combat perception, including reading movement, explosive trajectories, and chakra flow. By the later campaigns, a thousand deployed children possess it 43 104 209.
  • Mangekyō techniques: Specialist users employ Kamui, Kotoamatsukami, Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susanoo; these are individual abilities rather than a uniform clan-wide skill set 1 33 70 148 171.
  • Bloodline development: Holy-land nourishment, training, and the Awakening Pool increase the clan's strength. Itachi's pseudo-Kamui eye is presented as an exceptional result of his talent, not a standard awakening 18 30 123 124.

Fire Style

  • Basic training: Great Fireball is an introductory C-rank technique taught from childhood 156.
  • Formation attacks: A thousand warriors can synchronize their fireballs so that the attacks converge, fuse, and compress 156.
  • Advanced applications: Itachi destroys Tobirama's immense bone forest with Majestic Destroyer Flame, demonstrating that the user's power matters more than a technique's nominal rank 209.

Spatial Warfare and Mobility

  • Mass deployment: Gen'yō transports clan forces through spatial vortices and the Heavenly Imperial Gate 52 88.
  • Battlefield containment: Obito is assigned to seal the battlefield against Madara's space-time techniques 120.
  • Countermeasures: Obito absorbs the gravitational core of Chibaku Tensei into the Kamui Dimension before it can develop 148.

Industrialized Warfare

  • Combined forces: The army fields armored infantry, heavy chakra gunners, airborne Susanoo troops, and war puppets 117 158.
  • Communications and reconnaissance: Standard equipment includes communicators; sensory armor can connect to satellites 117.
  • Targeted command attacks: Itachi instructs the younger generation to prioritize enemy leaders and their inner circle rather than destroy indiscriminately 209.
  • Training limitations: Superior equipment and bloodline abilities do not eliminate inexperience, as Shō's defeat against Hiruzen demonstrates 219.

Equipment and Weapons

Ancestral Weapons

  • Uchiha Flame Gunbai — Formerly associated with Madara. Its damaged core initially limits reflection to ninjutsu below A-rank; Gen'yō repairs it, raising the stated reflection limit to S-rank 12.
  • Lightning Flame Tachi — Amplifies Fire and Lightning Release by 30%. Gen'yō upgrades it with Kamui power to grant a space-cutting attribute 12.
  • Soul Reaper — Chained scythe associated with Kagami Uchiha; later wielded by Shisui 12 32 35.

Standardized Armaments

Society and Economy

Internal Reforms

Gen'yō rejects the old distinction between prestigious combatants and less-valued production or administrative workers. His educational program explicitly calls for politicians, scientists, economists, and medical-nin alongside warriors 57 69.

He also abolishes the Main and Branch Family system. Resources are to follow demonstrated ability, including among collateral descendants, rather than family standing 92.

Population and Education

  • Population growth: A central state objective, supported by the Mother and Child Sanctuary and the Uchiha Torchbearer Plan 60 67.
  • Early educational targets: Gen'yō sets reading at age three, chakra extraction at five, and forming a Rasengan at seven as minimum goals for the next generation 69.
  • Universal combat basics: Akahoshi accepts responsibility for academic planning on the condition that every student learn basic combat 69.
  • Resource-intensive upbringing: Life Elixir and militarized training give academy children physical and chakra advantages over their Konoha counterparts 92.
  • Later growth: Amaterasu reports 5,000 new Uchiha births during the Divine Kingdom's expansion 190.

Commerce and Financial Control

  • Life Elixir: The Body Tempering Edition is marketed as life-extending and physically enhancing. Iwagakure receives an exclusive offer of unlimited supplies at cost 80.
  • Uchiha Ryō: Introduced as the replacement currency in the Land of Earth at a stated exchange rate of 1,000 to 1 112.
  • Convenience supermarkets: Sell advanced goods cheaply, with a 90% introductory discount for three months 112.
  • Economic warfare: Kakuzu uses shell bounty organizations against Konoha and financial operations against the Land of Lightning 139 171.

External Relationships

  • Konohagakure — Former home and principal early enemy. Its leadership attempts to prevent the migration, pursues the clan afterward, and remains the target of Uchiha retaliation 5 13 30 220.
  • Iwagakure and Ōnoki — Begins as a negotiated strategic alliance, becomes a marriage-backed blood alliance, and develops into open submission to the Divine Kingdom 23 64 80 180.
  • Kumogakure — Repeated military opponent. Its invasion leads to a Divine Kingdom counteroffensive and the conquest of the Land of Lightning 151 155 171 180.
  • Sunagakure — Forced to promise compensation after Gen'yō captures Shukaku. Rasa orders payment and severs ties with Konoha, later urging recognition of Gen'yō's rule 88 171.
  • Kirigakure — Sends wedding gifts; Mei Terumi later accepts the Moon Palace invitation and supports recognition of Gen'yō's rule 64 171.
  • Ōtsutsuki Clan — Identified as the next existential enemy because its God Tree harvest threatens the world's population 236.
