"It's alright." A glint of fighting spirit flashed in Loran's eyes. "If I can't even handle this little challenge, how can I talk about advancing to God King and fighting against the Chaos Sovereign?"
Lei Lin let out an excited roar, and the lightning and fire on its mane became even more intense. It could sense the fighting spirit within its master. As an ancient Qilin, it also craved battle and longed to clash with stronger opponents.
The Shadow Nether Sparrow flapped its wings and flew deeper into the forest. "Follow me. The spatial shielding in the core area is stronger; I will open a passage for you. But remember, once you enter the core area, be careful of everything; every inch of that land may harbor deadly dangers."
Loran and Lei Lin followed closely behind, moving forward on the spatial ripples. The scenery along the way became increasingly bizarre; the branches of the trees twisted into grotesque shapes, the ground was covered with glowing runes, and the chaotic energy in the air grew increasingly dense. Occasionally, they could see some irrational magical beasts, their bodies covered with black patterns, their eyes bloodshot. They would frantically pounce on Loran and the others upon seeing them, but they were all instantly killed by the lightning casually released by Lei Lin.
"These are all magical beasts corrupted by chaotic energy," the Shadow Nether Sparrow said with a hint of regret. "They were originally high-level magical beasts with unlimited potential, but they fell due to the pollution of the Origin of the Laws."
Loran remained silent, his hatred for the Chaos Divine Faction growing stronger. Three hundred years ago, during the war of the gods, his mentor was severely wounded by the Fallen Sovereign while protecting him, ultimately perishing. This was why he was so determined to purify the Origin of the Laws and stop the Chaos Divine Faction's conspiracy.
After traveling for about half an hour, the scenery ahead suddenly changed. The dense canopy disappeared, replaced by a vast valley, in the center of which stood a huge withered tree— the World Tree Ruins. The withered tree was thousands of feet tall, and its trunk was so thick that it would take hundreds of people to encircle it. Although it had long since withered, a faint aura of the Laws of Life still lingered on the trunk, and some black lines wandered on it, traces of the erosion by chaotic energy.
Around the valley, three enormous magical beasts dwell. To the left is a giant python covered in golden scales, with nine eyes on its head— the Nine-Eyed Golden Python, Peak Deity Level beast that controls the Laws of Deadly Poison. To the right is a giant bear twenty meters tall, its fur a dark gold color, its claws gleaming with cold light— the Adamantine Mountain-Rending Bear, Peak Deity Level beast that controls the Laws of Strength. And beneath the World Tree stands a hunched old man, his body composed of tree trunks and vines, his face covered in wrinkles— the Treant Elder, Peak Deity Level magical beast that controls the Laws of Life.
Besides these, there were dozens of black figures in the valley, all dressed in black armor and radiating dense chaotic energy. They were the minions of the Chaos Divine Faction. In the center of these minions stood a man wearing a black cloak and a skull mask. He exuded an aura of Late-stage Deity Level, comparable to Loran's.
"It seems we're too late," Shadow Nether Sparrow said with a hint of anxiety. " The Chaos Divine Faction has already arrived."
Loran's eyes turned cold, and the Laws of Lightning in his palm began to rage. He could sense the chaotic energy within the man in the black cloak, which was of the same origin as the Fallen Sovereign who killed his mentor three hundred years ago.
" Loran, be careful." Lei Lin walked up to Loran, his mane crackling with lightning. "That guy with the skull mask is no ordinary person; his understanding of the laws seems to be approaching the God King Realm."
Loran nodded and slowly walked forward. The lightning patterns on his divine robe grew brighter and brighter, the surrounding air began to vibrate violently, and spatial ripples spread like water.
