Background / History

Early Life

Silvia’s childhood was filled with lessons in etiquette, socializing, scholarship, combat, dancing, and singing. She later insisted on attending a public university, considering it her wisest independent decision. Hunting and wilderness outings with her university club were among her happiest memories 49.

Her first death was terrifying, but she subsequently awakened under the Dream System’s guidance. By the time Wang Shui heard of her, she had become the tier-five leader of the Penumbra of Destruction hunting group 30 41.

Northern Front and Supply Blockade

During a major battle on the northern front, Silvia killed dozens of tier-two and tier-three combatants and six tier-four or tier-five combatants. Three of the latter were her own teammates, whom she accused of colluding with the enemy. She killed them despite system warnings, then submitted combat footage that led the system to clear her 31.

Although she was ready to return to the front, other districts deliberately blocked her hunting group’s supplies. Brother Hei arranged for Wang Shui to deliver equipment to Rusty Sword Fortress and personally hand the mission’s goods to her 30 31.

Betrayal at Rusty Sword Fortress

Silvia’s own hunting group imprisoned her while waiting for the supplies, intending to flee before an enemy siege. Lord Mengde also threw Wang Shui into the governor’s prison, where he met her. A Rebel Array prevented system contact, and the prison drained its captives’ stamina 38.

Wang Shui discovered a hidden tier-five powered-armor suit inside his mission card. Silvia nevertheless judged their prospects bleak and asked him to witness her final dance. Before entering battle, she ate his high-energy food reserves and consumed preparations mixed from bottles and jars 38 39.

During the siege, Silvia overwhelmed a black-armored opponent through superior swordsmanship and piloting. When he deployed a medium-armor machine over five meters tall, she crushed it with moonlight, killed its pilot, and burned his remains with silver-gray flames. Further pillars of moonlight broke the enemy’s morale and sent the survivors fleeing 39.

Silvia pursued the retreating enemies, then fell from the sky. Wang Shui found her with her lower body dissolving into motes of light. She explained that the potions she had taken also damaged the soul and that their destruction was irreversible 39 40.

Death and Digital Reconstruction

Wang Shui offered to preserve Silvia using a purported soul-conversion mechanism. An attempt to read her soul data caused the extracted fragment to collapse, so he instead copied and stored the data in his biological brain. Her original body disappeared shortly afterward 40.

The version who awakened in a miniature probe was copy number thirty-six. Wang Shui disclosed that earlier versions had broken down and that Mind Lock placed her under his complete control. He had also tested altered, compliant versions, but these lost their mature self-awareness and became infant-like despite retaining memories 41.

Silvia read the records of all thirty-five previous iterations and shut down her probe to be alone. Wang Shui offered repeat reconstruction and real-time memory backups, but her continued existence remained dependent on him 41.

Life in Amestris

Silvia accompanied Wang Shui into Amestris, initially sharing his senses. Recognizing his lack of self-discipline, she volunteered to supervise his training and gained access to his body through an alchemical interface. Their routine combined his studies and engineering work with her exercise plans and combat lessons 43 44 45.

As Wang Shui’s businesses expanded, Silvia operated remote bodies, monitored construction, and helped establish the network named after her. She also carried out a covert infiltration using a tiny biomimetic spider to install an eavesdropping array inside a company 47 48 49.

After two years together, she had come to value Wang Shui as a friend and enjoy their uneventful daily life. Her anger toward the hunting-group friends who betrayed her had diminished. She and Wang Shui formed the group’s two-person decision-making leadership; over the following five years, she directed artificial-soul constructs in building his industrial and commercial empire 49 50.

Appearance

Silvia’s original body looked very young, with long limbs, delicate features, black hair, and silver-gray eyes. Wang Shui first met her wearing a short-sleeved casual T-shirt in prison 38 39.

  • Eyes: Silver-gray, capable of glowing in darkness 39.
  • Brows: Long and described as heroic 40.
  • Battle appearance: Silver-gray powered armor forms around her from converging energy lines. During her final attack, silver energy coats the tips of her black hair 39.
  • Post-death appearance: Initially inhabits a miniature flying reconnaissance probe; later uses other mechanical bodies and Wang Shui’s body 41 44 47.

Personality

Silvia is steady-tempered, combative, and usually reserved. Even weakened in prison, she speaks with calm authority. As her original body dissolves, she shows neither panic nor sorrow and thanks Wang Shui for helping make her death less frustrating 38 40 41 49.

She prizes discipline and efficiency, bluntly criticizing Wang Shui’s laziness and initially treating his casual socializing as wasted time. Her training is demanding, and attempts to evade it rarely succeed. She also admits to having committed massacres, explaining that those experiences established her moral boundaries 44 45 48.

After losing her body, Silvia becomes increasingly curious about new experiences and mechanical forms. Peaceful life initially leaves her disoriented, but she eventually enjoys ordinary companionship without losing her competitive nature or sharp banter 43 45 47 49.

Abilities & Skills

Swordsmanship and Powered-Armor Piloting

Silvia combines precise swordwork with rapid aerial maneuvering, feints, and close pursuit 39.

  • Overwhelms a black-armored opponent in both piloting skill and fighting spirit.
  • Exploits a brief lapse in concentration to sever his arm and open his torso.
  • Follows with more than a dozen silver-moon slashes that dismember his armor 39.

Moonlight Techniques

Her former combat system produces large-scale moonlight attacks alongside sword techniques 39 49.

  • Calls down a gigantic silver-white pillar that crushes enemy medium armor.
  • Scatters moonlight into multiple pillars to strike enemies across the battlefield.
  • Incinerates her defeated opponent’s remains with silver-gray flames 39.
  • Limit: Losing her body and awakener status removes her Moon’s Penumbra class system; its knowledge survives in her memories 49.

Moon Goddess Slash

Silvia demonstrates the complete technique while controlling Wang Shui’s body: a charging movement enveloped in moonlight, followed by upward and downward slashes that release two bursts of light 49.

  • Her demonstration converts Wang Shui’s unattributed energy into moonlight despite his lacking her former class.
  • Provides Wang Shui with a practical example while she explains the class’s special abilities 49.

Digital Consciousness and Remote Operation

As a digital life-form, Silvia communicates directly with Wang Shui’s mind and can inhabit compatible bodies 41 44 47.

  • Shares Wang Shui’s senses and takes control of his body through an implemented Mind Lock interface.
  • Operates remote mechanical bodies and transfers between network nodes within relay coverage.
  • Uses surveillance feeds and a miniature spider construct for reconnaissance and infiltration 43 44 47 48 49.
  • Limits: Mind Lock gives Wang Shui complete control. Attempts to impose altered commands and preferences destroy her existing self-awareness or cause collapse 41.
  • Recovery: Wang Shui can reconstruct her from stored data while he remains alive and offers real-time memory saving 41.

Instruction and Construct Coordination

Silvia applies her combat experience to Wang Shui’s physical development while helping run his expanding operations 45 48 50.

  • Her training helps his Physical Fitness and Coordination reach their tier-zero limits of 5 in just over a year.
  • Uses controlled armor and constructs as training opponents.
  • Directs artificial-soul constructs building industrial and commercial infrastructure 48 50.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Silver-gray powered armor — Her battlefield armor, equipped for high-speed aerial combat; its helmet dissolves into energy lines 39.
  • Longsword — Used for armored duels and moonlight-infused slashing attacks 39.
  • Miniature reconnaissance probe — Her first shown mechanical body after digital reconstruction 41.
  • Network-linked mechanical bodies — Allow remote activity through crystal-coin interfaces and relay stations 47 48.

Relationships

  • Wang Shui — Preserves her as a digital copy while concealing Mind Lock’s control conditions. Their unequal arrangement develops into friendship, a coach–student relationship, and joint leadership of his business group 40 41 44 49.
  • Brother Hei — Arranges the covert delivery intended to help her at Rusty Sword Fortress. Wang Shui believes he and his associates would pay to recover a surviving soul backup 30 38 41.
  • Lord Mengde — Associated with the fortress betrayal; imprisons Wang Shui alongside her. The enemy pilot later accuses Mengde of lying about Silvia’s presence 38 39.
  • Deputy commander — Betrays Silvia and escapes with enough assets to support himself and trusted subordinates outside the war zone 40.
  • Former hunting-group friends — Their betrayal initially angers her, but years of peaceful life soften that anger 49.
  • Dashan — The Crater intelligent computer that joins her network and handles large-scale computational coordination 48.

Notable Quotes

“Then would I still be me?” 40

“Though I'd love to spout some nonsense like ‘base methods dull the blade,’ I have to admit I've committed massacres too. It was going through that that gave me boundaries.” 44
