Kong Xuan and Kong Ling discovered their extraordinary Martial Souls and joined the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, where Kong Xuan quickly established himself as the class’s strongest student. Two years later, he watched Xu Wei face Xu Tianyi in the arena as he continued training toward his next Soul Ring.
Kong Xuan mastered Clear and Serene Spear Intent, defeated Xu Tianyang, and trained Kong Ling, Xu Wei, and Xu Tianyi for the upcoming competition. After Kong Ling gained her second Soul Skill, the team entered the National Soul Master Class Competition, where Kong Xuan left the opening match to his teammates.
Kong Xuan’s team won the competition, and Kong Xuan rescued Shui Ling from an Evil Soul Master. He then intervened in Huo Yuhao’s fate, bringing him to the Sun Moon Empire as Kong Deming’s disciple and drawing Tang San’s attention.
Kong Xuan revealed his plans to Gu Yuena and began working with Electrolux and Tian Meng on a way for humans to gain Soul Rings without hunting Soul Beasts. On the journey to the Far North, Kong Deming reunited with Zhang Lexuan, and Huo Yuhao secured the Ice Empress’s agreement to become his second Martial Soul.
Kong Deming unveiled Battle Armor, and Kong Xuan’s classmates won tournament reserve places by defeating the Soul Engineers. Sun Moon opened the tournament with a decisive victory while Shrek struggled with casualties, disciplinary fallout, and secretly dispatched reinforcements.
Kong Xuan led the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy to victory over Shrek Academy while attracting powerful outsiders' attention. Xuan Zi's attempt to seize Ren Jun provoked a confrontation with Kong Deming, while a mysterious figure carried Kong Xuan away.
Kong Xuan killed Tai Tan and dispersed Tang San’s divine sense, while Kong Deming used Xuan Zi’s captivity to secure concessions from Shrek Academy. After gaining a powerful Soul Bone and helping negotiate with the Body Sect, Kong Xuan faced Niu Tian over Tai Tan’s death.
Kong Xuan humbled Shrek Academy’s teachers, uncovered Tang San’s schemes against Huo Yuhao, and joined a Soul Hunting expedition with the exchange students. The group reached the Star Dou Great Forest, where Chu Qingtian began absorbing a Lightning Teng Snake’s Soul Ring as a golden light approached.
Kong Xuan reunited Gu Yuena with the Star Dou Great Forest, saved the Snow Empress, and secured rare treasures from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well for himself and his companions. After the Sun Moon students grew stronger, he sought to bring them into Shrek’s Inner Court and left the decision to a wager with Mu En.
Kong Xuan defeated Shrek’s Inner Court champions, secured access for the Sun Moon exchange students, and helped establish Soul Spirit fusion with the Star Dou Great Forest. As the exchange program neared its end, Huo Yuhao prepared to confront Dai Huabin over his mother’s death.
After Huo Yuhao confronted Dai Huabin and revealed his past, Kong Xuan survived an assassination plot that led Kong Deming to destroy the Holy Spirit Cult’s headquarters. The arc ended with Kong Deming confronting the Dou Ling Empire and demanding compensation for the captured worshippers in exchange for peace.
Kong Deming and Kong Xuan secured support and territory for the Spirit Pagoda and a proposed federation, then forced Shrek to answer for Yan Shaozhe's alleged collusion with the Holy Spirit Cult. Kong Xuan recruited companions before exploring the Ice God's inheritance, leaving Meng Hongchen and Snow Empress to undertake trials as Xu Tianran arrived at the Worship Hall.
Xu Tianran took the throne and backed Zhongli Wu’s plot while Kong Xuan’s team dominated the tournament in Mingdu. Shrek Academy reached the final after an earlier concession, but Yan Shaozhe’s disappearance drew Xuan Zi and Kong Deming into a trap as the final team battle began.
After the Sun Moon team defeated Shrek, Kong Xuan uncovered the Holy Spirit Cult’s trap at Qiankun Asking Love Valley and helped expose and kill Yan Shaozhe. He returned to Mingdu and launched the Spirit Pagoda’s soul spirit fusion system, ending with an invitation for the continent’s factions to join its council.
Kong Xuan helped Kong Ling and his companions begin the Fire God’s trials, then traveled with Gu Yuena to Dragon Valley, where she restored her origin through the Dragon God’s remains. After returning to Fire God Mountain, Kong Xuan reunited with Kong Ling as she started her second trial.
Kong Deming ended the Sun Moon Empire’s stalled war by steering the nations toward a federation, while Kong Xuan’s plans advanced as Tang San’s attempt to reclaim Wang Dong’s sealed soul was exposed. The arc left Kong Xuan newly ascended to godhood and Wang Dong fleeing after learning the truth about his father and soul.
