Background and History

Childhood and the Uchiha Massacre

Xin’s parents died near the end of the Third Shinobi World War while covering their comrades during an S-rank mission. Compensation from Konoha and the clan, together with his inheritance, allowed him to live independently. He refused an offer to move near the Main Family, preferring an isolated courtyard where he could conceal his system and training 2.

At the Academy, he initially appeared mediocre. After awakening his Sharingan, he copied Sasuke’s Great Fireball Technique and defeated him in a practical exercise. He then approached Might Guy for taijutsu instruction, invoking Guy’s debt to his father, who had once saved Guy’s life 3 4.

Knowing the massacre was approaching, Xin investigated the coup and confronted Itachi. He escaped their first encounter with Flying Thunder God, trained until he could negotiate from a stronger position, and eventually broke through Tsukuyomi. In exchange for advance warning of the operation, he agreed to protect Sasuke for five years, until Academy graduation 6 7 8 9.

Xin prepared teleportation escape routes and took refuge in Guy’s home under the pretext of intensive training. Although he survived, returning to the emptied compound left him mourning the clanspeople who had treated him kindly 9.

Concealment and Team 7

After the massacre, Konoha confiscated the clan grounds and relocated Xin to a small apartment. Detecting surveillance from Anbu or Root, he spent five years presenting himself as an unambitious, average student while developing his abilities privately 10 11.

He graduated into Genma Shiranui’s Team 4 alongside two undercover Root operatives. Following a Root ambush, Hiruzen transferred him to Kakashi’s Team 7 for protection. During the Land of Waves mission, Xin overwhelmed Zabuza through taijutsu, teleportation, and genjutsu 13 15 16 19.

His promise to Itachi did not mean shielding Sasuke from every danger. Xin allowed Orochimaru to place the Cursed Seal of Heaven on Sasuke, interpreting his obligation as keeping Sasuke alive. He nevertheless intended to prevent Orochimaru from taking Sasuke’s body and crippled Orochimaru’s hands 26 41 42.

Konoha Politics and the Hyuga Alliance

Xin refused Hiruzen’s suggestion that he become Hokage. He preferred personal freedom and pursuing Hinata, while maintaining Konoha as a comfortable home rather than seeking an official leadership position 21 22 59.

His growing strength changed his political standing. After he brought Tsunade back to Konoha, Danzō attempted to force him into Root; Xin refused and threatened to kill him. Tsunade later proposed his marriage to Hinata on his behalf, while the Hyuga leadership negotiated over the Tenseigan and the status of their future children 53 59 60 62.

Xin took Hinata to the moon so she could absorb the Giant Tenseigan directly rather than receive a weaker bestowed version. Absorbing its remaining energy advanced his own eyes into Tensei Rinnegan gestation. Hiashi subsequently proposed marrying both Hinata and Hanabi to him, tying the Hyuga Clan’s future to his protection 97 100 117.

Conflict with the Sage of Six Paths

Xin became suspicious of the Sage of Six Paths after detecting ancient chakra within Naruto’s Nine-Tails chakra. He later exposed the Reaper as one of the Sage’s origin-life-form puppets and seized its body after the Sage destroyed his remaining consciousness inside it 20 139 141.

During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Xin treated Obito and the Ten-Tails as tools for drawing out hidden powers. He extracted chakra from Naruto and Killer B and supplied it to Obito, deliberately accelerating the Ten-Tails’ completion despite the Allied Forces’ opposition 150 152 168 169.

He fought Kaguya across her dimensions and devoured Black Zetsu to evolve his eyes. On returning, he discovered that the Sage had torn Indra’s and Asura’s chakra from Sasuke and Naruto and cast Infinite Tsukuyomi. Xin then pursued him into the Root Dimension 184 187 198 199.

After further battles involving the Ōtsutsuki and the Sage, Xin attained the Eye of God. The Shinobi World was subsequently unified under him and entered a broadly welcomed period of peace, with only scattered remote rebellions 215 218 220 226 229.

Arrival in the Pirate World

After several comfortable years with his consorts, Xin feared that leisure was eroding his fighting spirit. The system assured him that time in the Naruto world would stop during his absence, and he departed through a randomly targeted cross-world gateway. The new world’s laws suppressed most of his powers, but not his Body of the Extreme Path 230.

Xin conquered Thriller Bark, remodeled it into the Divine Palace, and forced Perona into service. He subsequently expanded his power through combat rewards, Haki fusion, Devil Fruit absorption, and dependent bonds. The Navy eventually assigned him a three-billion-Belly bounty and the title Thunder Emperor 239 253 258 333.

His campaign included killing Shanks and Orochi, taking over Doflamingo’s intelligence network through Perona, and intervening at Marineford without supporting either side. By the time he recruited Momousagi as his tenth dependent in that world, he stated that he had killed Kaido and Charlotte Linlin, destroyed Totto Land and Marine Headquarters, and intended to unify the world 358 385 413 438 483.

His latest documented battle ends with Kizaru killed by a single punch and Dragon’s soul extracted and crushed 496.

Personality

Xin is calculating and highly protective of his own survival. He conceals his strongest techniques, uses foreknowledge of major events to negotiate advantages, and spends years performing mediocrity when displaying strength would attract dangerous scrutiny. His concern about the Sage of Six Paths repeatedly outweighs any desire for public recognition 4 8 10 20 21.

He values comfort, freedom, and the people he considers his own. He rejects the Hokage position, enjoys Konoha’s food and stable daily life, and avoids breaking with the village partly to spare Hinata a divided loyalty. Tsunade describes him as greedy and sly, but fiercely protective of those he cares about 21 59 62.

As his strength grows, he becomes openly contemptuous of opponents and institutions that cannot restrain him. His ambition extends beyond ruling the Shinobi World to obtaining supreme strength across worlds 130 167 215.

His possessiveness also becomes coercive. He seals Perona’s abilities and prevents her escape, restrains Hancock despite her resistance, imposes a restriction preventing Hiyori’s suicide, and brands Ain and Hina into accepting him as Master. These actions distinguish his treatment of unwilling captives from his protection of established companions 239 372 408 483.

Limit Sharingan and Eye of God

His system-driven ocular evolution progresses from an ordinary-looking Sharingan to the Eye of God 2 226.

• Copying: Reproduces Sasuke’s Great Fireball Technique after observing it 4.
