Only after comparing it with the original map of Baishui Town did Yang Jian discover what was so strange about this little town.
More than half the buildings in the town were not on the map. Yet when Yang Jian and Liu Qi first entered, neither of them noticed anything amiss, as if the town had always looked this way and could never have resembled the map at all.
"Unbelievable. Something like this can happen? Reality and the map are actually different." Liu Qi stared hard at the map on his phone, then looked up at several buildings near the town street.
Those buildings did not exist on the map.
Yet right before them, the buildings blended perfectly with the surrounding streets, as though they had always been there.
"If this map hadn't been sent by Headquarters, I'd even suspect it was fake, or an old map from years ago. But it was last updated three months ago, and a county town couldn't possibly change this much in three months."
Liu Qi was deeply unsettled.
He looked at the perfectly ordinary streets of the county town. After the rain had cleared, quite a few local residents were even walking along the roads. It was hard to connect any of this with the supernatural.
"That's exactly why it's frightening."
Yang Jian's expression remained calm. "If everything were truly normal, Wang Shanshan wouldn't have lost contact here. Besides that, Dashan City's person in charge also ran into trouble in Baishui Town. Although the supernatural incident hasn't spread and the townspeople haven't started dying in large numbers yet."
"That doesn't mean everything is safe. But I already have a rough guess about what's happening here."
"What guess?" Liu Qi asked.
Yang Jian swept his gaze around. "Baishui Town must have intersected with some
