At six o'clock sharp, the lights in the Ghost Post Office went out.
The yellowed lights in the dim corridor immediately extinguished, and everything nearby was swallowed by darkness. The only remaining light came from the rooms.
But before the lights went out,
there was still someone lingering in the corridor.
Chen Xing, the man Yang Jian had thrown out of Room 21.
Of course, Chen Xing was not necessarily doomed just because he had been left in the corridor. He still had a chance to hide in another room from the dangers after lights-out.
However, Yang Jian's actions had eliminated that possibility.
Yang Jian had broken his arms and legs.
He was now crippled and unable to move freely. He could only lie by the door, howling in pain as he gradually waited for the lights to go out.
There might have been other messengers in the rooms on the second floor, but no one came out to save him.
It seemed they had long grown accustomed to such things. Or perhaps, during their time as messengers, many had learned to be cold and detached, unwilling to involve themselves in this sort of matter.
Under Chen Xing's terrified gaze, his figure was swiftly swallowed by the darkness after the lights went out.
Everything in the Post Office sank into an eerie silence.
"Captain Yang, did you want that guy to test some of the Post Office's rules?" Li Yang sat down with his back against the door.
He was guarding against something suddenly breaking in from the darkness.
"It was only incidental. The real reason was that I wanted to kill him, but killing him outright would have been too easy on him. I wanted him to taste fear." Yang Jian said.
"There really is no reason to keep
