Background / History

Ghost Painting Incident

Li Yang was caught in the Ghost Painting incident with Jimmy. When Yang Jian became trapped in a room, he instructed the frightened Li Yang to enter and distract the ghost. Li Yang was then trapped inside until Yang Jian reopened the door and pulled him out; during the escape, the ghost attached itself to Li Yang's body. 632

The attachment made Li Yang a ghost wielder. Yang Jian explained that ghost wielders inevitably die from ghost resurgence, and that controlling a second ghost could only delay that end. Despite the prognosis, Li Yang accepted his condition and resolved to survive. 633

Joining Yang Jian's Team

Li Yang later arrived in Dachang City with Liu San as part of the Ghost Painting action team. His fear of Yang Jian and the ghost child showed his limited experience, but he remained cooperative. 754
